Hello! It's time for a new challenge over at Less Is More. This fortnight we have a theme of -
My card -
I opted for an obvious choice and attempted a bokeh effect. I seem to have a LOT of trouble when it comes to white ink. I have Stayz On Cotton White (sorry, but I really dislike this ink and how hard it is to clean) and Colour Box (Teresa Collins) Posh White (this seems VERY watery to me). Does anyone have a favourite white ink and if you do please let me know!
I feel the bokeh effect worked out okay but I just wasn't impressed with the inks and the grainy images.
I would like to enter my card over at the following challenges -
Seize the Birthday (Anything Goes), Creative Craft Cottage (CAS), Watercooler Challenges (Occasions), AAA Birthday (Dots and/or Stripes)
I rarely use white ink, but I do love PTI's Fresh Snow. I must say that I love the grainy effect of the inks you used, but I understand how frustrating it is when you expect one look and get another. I really love this card. I hope you and yours are all well and safe down there. Take care of yourself. xx
ReplyDeleteWell Kylie, despite your struggles with the inks and your unhappiness with the grainy images, your card turned out beautifully. Love the shades you've used and the design. Thanks so much for sharing with us for our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
ReplyDeleteYour background has turned out beautiful even despite the struggles you had. Thanks for joining us at Watercooler Wednesday this week.
ReplyDeleteSuper card, Kylie! your bokeh background is wonderful! Love the colours! Thanks so much for joining us at Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week. Happy Easter! Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteThe bokeh effect looks wonderful Kylie. The latest white ink I've tried is Unicorn by Hero Arts. Haven't tried bokeh with it though! Thankyou for playing along at Seize the Birthday, Cathy x
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous Kylie. Loving the purples! Thanks for playing at AAA Birthday, hope to see you join in with future challenges too. Keep safe, stay home and craft instead!
ReplyDeleteYou worked wonders with the bokeh effect Kylie! It has so much depth and really fits the out of focus theme like a treat. Your circles look just like spheres! Oh gosh, I share your woes over white ink. I adore a good bokeh but sadly still haven't found a white ink to give a great effect. Your panel looks amazing though xx
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely, Kylie. A lovely effect but I feel your pain. The best white ink I've found is Hero Arts Unicorn, but I only managed to get hold of it in a set of minis, the large ones were sold out everywhere (perhaps that tells you something!) I also got a great effect once before using masks for the bokeh effect instead of white ink, give that a whirl, I actually preferred the results with mine, but the masks do struggle to stick with the layers of ink xx
ReplyDeleteEven if you are not happy with your inks, I really love the beautiful bokeh background you’ve made. When I have to use white ink, I also use the Hero Arts Unicorn. Hope you and your family are well and safe at home! xx
ReplyDeleteHello gorgeous ! I too have a problem with white ink and never use it also cant clean the stamps afterwards. Wonderful bokeh effect I think what you would all grainy really makes all the difference and produces a beautiful effect. Hope all is well with you and yours.
