Penny Black Midway Reminder

Hey! Over at the Penny Black Saturday challenge it's Anything Goes with the option of Spring.
We are now halfway through the challenge so there's still time to link up!

Please make sure that the MAIN FOCUS OF YOUR PROJECT is one of the following: PENNY BLACK IMAGE, PENNY BLACK LARGE SENTIMENT, PENNY BLACK DIE OR PENNY BLACK STICKEROO.

I have used a new to me stamp called Tenderness.

I stamped my flower then coloured it with polychromo pencils and gamsol. I fussy cut it out and adhered it to my panel. The sentiment is from a set by SSS called Bestie.

I have a bit of a 'thing' for dotty background paper at the moment. I really like what it adds to the card but doesn't take away from the focal image.

This card was sent to my best friend for her birthday. We are both 44 years old and have been best friends for 40 years. We met in kindergarten and the rest is history :)

I hope to see you over at the PBSC blog!

I would like to enter my card over at the following challenges -
Penny Black and More Challenge (Spring Flowers), Allsorts (Lots of Dots), Seize the Birthday (Anything Goes), Timeout (Birthday)

PBSC March 2020 Challenge

Hi there everyone! I am pretty excited to share with you that I am now a designer for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge. Yay! The first Saturday of each month marks the start of each new theme. The challenges are always Anything Goes with an optional twist.

Our challenge for March is

ANYTHING GOES WITH THE OPTION OF 'THINK SPRING'

Here is my card using Penny Black "Betsy Bluebell". I have had this stamp set for EVER and actually it was one of my original purchases when I first started stamping :)

I simply stamped and coloured my image then used some craft foam to pop her up on some cute designer paper.

Christmas Poinsettia

Hi there, I have a quick post tonight to share a card I just made. After a full weekend of work and nanny duties, I decided some 'colouring in' to help wind down.

I have a new Penny Black stamp from the brushstroke collection called Christmas Red. I was a little intimidated to use it so I went all out and even used a technique that I'm not comfortable with. No line colouring.

I used my MISTI to stamp the image with antique linen ink. My polychromo pencils were used to create the outlines and then blended my colouring with gamsol and blending stump. You won't be able to see it in this photo but I also covered the whole thing with glitter using a Spectrum Noir pen.
I fussy cut the poinsettia then used a guillotine to give it a nice edge. I stamped the sentiment (using my MISTI), then poped up the poinsettia with foam tape.

I would like to enter my card over at the following challenges -
Penny Black Saturday Challenge (Sparkle and Shine), Penny Black and More (Flowers), My Time to Craft (Christmas Flowers), Day of the Month Cart Club (Poinsettia Day)

Thanks for popping in today. Only 3 more sleeps until Christmas! I hope you have a magical day :)

Less Is More #407 - OLC Winter Flora

Happy Saturday. It's time for a new challenge over at LIM where we want you to create a ONE LAYER CARD with the theme of winter flora. Even though it's summer here in Australia at Christmas time, you can't go past good old Christmas cards using beautiful flora such as holly, mistletoe, and christmas trees (for example).

Here are my cards -

Card #1
For this card, I used a new stamp called Berry Kissed by Penny Black. I really like the watercolouring technique used with these stamps (incorporating the MISTI) but I haven't really mastered this technique. I decided to try no line colouring by stamping the image with Antique Linen ink then colouring with my polychromos. I went a little crazy with my white gel pen but the end result was okay :) The sentiment is an old one from the HLS Mixed Christmas Sentiments.

Card #2
This card was created using another HLS set called Merry Kissmas. I stamped the Mistletoe and sentiment at the same time using my MISTI. I coloured the image using some glitter pens. Easy!

Card #3
This stamp is from Sugar Plum Fairy by CAS-ual Fridays.  I am embossed the image straight onto my linen card, then coloured the star with a gold sharpie.

We have two guest designers for this challenge - Ankie (our August Winner) and our generous sponsor Bev (from Uniko).

I would like to enter my cards over at the following challenges -
Card #1 - Creative Sketchy Girls (Create a Christmas Card), Watercooler Wednesday Challenge (all about occasions),
Card #3 - Sweet Stampin' Christmas (Anything Goes + optional stars), Tuesday Throwdown (One Layer Wonder), CAS on Friday (Big Sentiment)

Thanks for popping in today and I hope to see you playing along at LIM :)

Happy Saturday everyone.
Today is actually my birthday and the theme at Less is More is Celebrations, so yay!!

I have made two cards for this challenge -

This is one of the very first stamp sets I ever bought and decided to get it out and colour it in with my new polychromo pencils

Card #2
This wedding card was made very simply by stamping the sentiment and ribbon then adding a few sequins to finish it off.

We have a wonderful guest designer joining us for the next fortnight - please make Viv feel welcome :)

ATSM - Challenge #37 - Make your Mark!!

Hi there! There are some awesome things going on over at the Addicted to Stamps Challenge blog! I hope you pop over to check it all out and participate in our latest challenge.
This challenge is called 'Make your Mark' which means you can create anything you choose as long as you use markers - this means alcohol markers, watercolour markers etc.
I received a little present in the mail yesterday from my wonderful friend, Loll. We had been discussing different watercolour paper and Loll gave me some wonderful tips as I had been having trouble with mine. Loll explained some differences and then proceeded to send some of hers to me!! Thank you so much Loll, I hope I have done it justice ;) I have certainly had some fun practising.
Here is my DT card -
I have used a Penny Black stamp for this birthday card.
When using my Stampin' Write markers for watercolour, I squiggle some of the ink onto a white bread plate and then pick it up with my Aqua painter to give the image a light wash of colour.
Once dry, with the same colour I use the marker directly onto the image and use my blender pen to blend the colours. Depending on the shade I want to achieve, I will go one colour darker and keep blending.
I did a fair bit of layering for this card which is unusual for me but I actually intended to create a 'busy' card.
The flowers are from Inspired by Stamping. The butterfly are two dies from Memory Box which I have glittered up using double sided sticky paper.
Now it is your turn to show us how you use your markers. Pop on over to the challenge blog and check out the rest of the DT's beautiful projects!

This card will also be entered into the following challenges -

The Outlawz - Monday Greeting Cards - Layers
Crafty Sentiments - Flowers Galore
Creative Creations - The Letter B (Balloons, Butterfly, Blue)
Thanks so much for looking xx
