Christmas Village

Hi everyone, I hope you are well.

I have made another Christmas Card to share with you today. I have a new HLS die to play with - Village Die that can be used in a number of ways.

Here is my card -

I only wanted to use part of the die for this card so I die cut the village three times and then snipped off the end house so I could create these little separate homes.

I used border dies to create my slopes. I added 'snow' to my backing circle using texture paste and stencil. The greeting is from the HLS Mixed Christmas Sentiments (retired).

Here is the village die in its entirety and you can see the end house is the one I used for this card.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges -

Christmas Card Challenge - Anything Goes + of photo
Christmas Cards all Year Round - House or Cottage
ABC Christmas Card Challenge - M for More than One

Thanks for popping in today xx

Inkspirational Photo Challenge

Time for a new challenge over at Inkspirational! We have an awesome photo to inspire you today.

Here is my card -

I created my background by smooshing grey brusho onto watercolour paper (drying between smooshes).

I embossed my flowers onto watercolour paper and coloured them with my Zigs. Once dry, I threw on little clear wink of stella and fussy cut them out. The sentiment has also been heat embossed.

The couch/sofa in the photo inspired me to give texture to the background. The watercoloured flowers are obvious :)

The stamp set is from Happy Little Stampers - Especially for You

I hope to see you play along with this fortnight's challenge. Don't forget to pop on over to my team mates to see their ideas!

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

HLS June ATC Challenge

Hi everyone! This is an exciting day because it is the day we start a brand new challenge over at Happy Little Stampers

Last year for the HLS retreat we organised an ATC swap. It was really fun and the very first time I had ever considered making an ATC. I have now bought some pocket holders for a folder to store them in so I can keep them organised.

Looking around blogland I couldn't really find many challenges for the ATC fans so here we are!

Our very first ATC challenge theme is -

For those of you that are new to the ATC concept please pop on over to the challenge blog where you will find details information about how to create them.

Here is mine -

I covered my precut ATC with some tissue paper and then stamped the flowers and sentiment. I used Distress Ink to highlight the edges of the ATC.

Here are the products I used from HLS -

I've had fun starting up a new 'hobby' and the trick is now to keep on creating :)

See you over at the challenge blog xx

White Christmas

Hi everyone, I hope you are well. I had fun creating a Christmas Card this morning. Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge is now live for June and I wanted to play along. I had this idea for a few days and finally sat down to create.

I started by die cutting my curved edge and used a pencil to trace where it would sit on my card. This gave me an indication of where I needed to blend my background and place my trees.

With my die cut piece, I decided to use 'True Snow' paste. I applied it quite 'roughly'
using a palette knife, sprinkled on some sparkly glitter, then set it aside to set.

I die cut my trees. I wanted a random snow look for my trees. I pounced my versamark ink pad over the die cuts then sprinkled on some Shabby White Embossing Enamel and WOW Mint Macaroon embossing powder. I held each tree with tweezers and heat set the powders from underneath. When using the enamel, it is best to heat underneath first (make sure your heat gun is warm) so you eliminate lots of flyaways.

I sponged some Broken China Distress Ink onto my back panel and used my MISTI to stamp my sentiment. I really liked the Mixed Media feel to my card but keeping things still looking quite simple.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges

The 12 Months of Christmas Link Up - Anything Goes + option of Fur, Fluff, Feather, or Fins

For Your Special Day

Hi there. I hope you are all well (unlike me with the bloody flu). Over the last couple of weeks I have been working on Christening invitations for my great goddaughter. Today I made a card to send off with the invitations now they are finished.

This was very simple to create. I cut three strips of card for my background and adhered them to the card. I used my MISTI to stamp my sentiment in Chocolate Chip ink on the die cut (which coordinates with the die cut used on the invitation. The butterfly die cut is covered in glossy accents.

Inkspirational Designers Choice Challenge

Hi there! Time for a new challenge over at Inkspirational! I hope you will be able to play along with us :)

This fortnight our challenge is -

Carol has chosen this theme for us!

Here is my DT card -

I tossed up a number of ideas on using a window on my card. I was going to make a shaker card but then decided to go with something a little more simple.

I created a window card using oval dies.

I embossed my flowers and leaves (from Altenew) with gold tinsel powder then coloured them with my Zigs. I fussy cut them out and arranged them around my window. The sentiment is from the HLS Wish you Were Here set.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges

The Crafty Purple Frog - Flowers
Create and Inspire - Anything Goes + option of Flowers
Eclectic Ellapu - Toucch of Pink or Purple
Mix it Up Challenge - Anything Goes + stamping

So what ideas will you have for this theme? Don't forget to think outside the box. Perhaps you may create something that you see outside your window? See you over at Inkspirational!

HLS June CAS Challenge

Hi again! Are you ready for the CAS challenge at Happy Little Stampers?

Here is our theme for this month -

You can smoosh with any water soluble inks - Brushos, Distress Inks, Watercolour pens etc. I used Brushos for my card.

I sprinkled some rose red brusho onto my craft mat, misted it with some water and smooshed my watercolour paper into the ink. I actually love that you can even control where you smoosh. I only wanted the red on one side so I could then add the orange to the other side. During the process there was a little blending of the two and I love how it turned out. The unfortunate part is this is a sympathy card for someone who has just lost her dad :(

Once the panel was dry, I used my MISTI to stamp the sentiment and butterfly which are from the HLS 'Thinking of You' set.

HLS June Watercolour Challenge

Hello! Goodness me the year is flying by! We have another fun challenge over at Happy Little Stampers. The start of the month means we kick off with our -

Yep! Anything Goes but you may like to play along with our optional twist - we would like you to use a masking technique.

Here is my card -

Making this card involved many twists and turns. I had started off with an image other than the butterflies but what I had in my head just wouldn't translate to paper.

Once I had decided to go with my butterflies, I was much happier. I stamped and masked the butterflies, coloured them with zigs and covered them with wink of stella.

I had finished the panel and I really wasn't 'digging it'. Insert loud audible sigh right here!

Looking at just the butterflies I had a bit of a lightbulb moment and decided to fussy cut them out. I was much happier with what was coming together.

I used foam squares to pop up my butterflies and I also embossed the sentiment.

This card went over to the UK for Sandie's birthday :)

Here are the products that I used for this card -
