Aren't these just gorgeous colours to work with! They are so versatile and can be used for anything!!

I have stamped him onto watercolour paper and then used my Sahara Sand and Regal Rose and an Aqua Painter and blender pen for the image. I have used Tempting Turquoise with my Aqua Painter for the background. I have used an Easter Stamp from Inspired by Stamping inked with Tempting Turquoise.
I have mounted my cutie onto Basic Black and used Natural White cardstock for my base.
I really can't wait to see what you all come up with! Head on over to the challenge blog and check out the rest of the DT.

ATCAS #9

Hi everyone! Over at Addicted to CAS it's time for a new code word! Are you ready?
Harriet is our host for this challenge and she has chosen -
Spring is in the air for most people except over here in Australia it is Autumn now. Living in a more northern part of Australia (so it is warm most of the year around), we don't even get Autumn. I do miss all the colours that Autumn brings. I moved from my hometown of Canberra just over 10 years ago and I really try not to go there in the cooler months because it's not just cooler, it is freezing! So, I haven't seen a 'typical' Autumn for quite some time now.
But! Enough of that and onto my DT card -
I'm in two minds about this card. I only coloured in one of the flowers to give the card a focal point, but to me the card seems unfinished. I'll leave it for you to decide.
The sentiment is from an Inspired by Stamping set called Birthday Greetings. I loved that the sentiment included the word 'sunshine'.
The flowers are from my Mixed Bunch set.
Simply stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and then I coloured the one flower with Daffodil Delight.
I hope to see you over at ATCAS so we can all see your Spring inspired cards. Don't forget that Spring may mean something to you other than flowers etc. Does it remind you of the spring that Tigger has or even a Spring Roll?.... lol
Pop over to see the wonderful inspiration from the DT and check out the awesome prize on offer from our amazing sponsor at
Clearly Besotted Stamps

ATSM - Challenge #37 - Make your Mark!!

Hi there! There are some awesome things going on over at the Addicted to Stamps Challenge blog! I hope you pop over to check it all out and participate in our latest challenge.
This challenge is called 'Make your Mark' which means you can create anything you choose as long as you use markers - this means alcohol markers, watercolour markers etc.
I received a little present in the mail yesterday from my wonderful friend, Loll. We had been discussing different watercolour paper and Loll gave me some wonderful tips as I had been having trouble with mine. Loll explained some differences and then proceeded to send some of hers to me!! Thank you so much Loll, I hope I have done it justice ;) I have certainly had some fun practising.
Here is my DT card -
I have used a Penny Black stamp for this birthday card.
When using my Stampin' Write markers for watercolour, I squiggle some of the ink onto a white bread plate and then pick it up with my Aqua painter to give the image a light wash of colour.
Once dry, with the same colour I use the marker directly onto the image and use my blender pen to blend the colours. Depending on the shade I want to achieve, I will go one colour darker and keep blending.
I did a fair bit of layering for this card which is unusual for me but I actually intended to create a 'busy' card.
The flowers are from Inspired by Stamping. The butterfly are two dies from Memory Box which I have glittered up using double sided sticky paper.
Now it is your turn to show us how you use your markers. Pop on over to the challenge blog and check out the rest of the DT's beautiful projects!

This card will also be entered into the following challenges -

The Outlawz - Monday Greeting Cards - Layers
Crafty Sentiments - Flowers Galore
Creative Creations - The Letter B (Balloons, Butterfly, Blue)

CC&S - Sketch Week

Hi there everyone and welcome to my newest followers!
At CAS - Colours and Sketches we have a wonderful sketch for you to play along with -
Here is my DT card -
I played around with this sketch for a while and couldn't really decide on what to do with my two white panels. I then had an idea (and I don't even know where it came from) to use vellum. I have never used it before so I don't even know why it popped into my head.
Once I had decided to grab some vellum, I knew the stamp that I wanted to use. This gorgeous image is from a new set called 'Cherish' which is from Inspired by Stamping. I also wanted to keep the monochrome design so I inked the stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black and adhered the vellum with a little glue. I actually 'googled' how to attach the vellum before I started because I was worried about the adhesive showing through. Luckily there were good reports about the Tombow Liquid Glue so I gave that a go. It worked a treat!
Now, it's your turn to try out this sketch. Don't forget that you must created a card using the sketch provided and you must include stamping.
Check out the other inspiration from the DT - you will love it!

Inkspirational Photo Challenge

Hi there! Over at Inkspirational today we have a photo challenge for you!
Check it out -
For my DT card, I used the photo as inspiration to create an Easter card.
I have used my Natural White cardstock and baker's twine from SU. The stamps are from our sponsor over at Inspired by Stamping. I created a mask for the egg and stamped the line. I have popped the panel up on dimensionals.

I have created a card today for the latest challenge over at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown.
I ummmed and arrrrred about what do do for this challenge. Then once I decided to use my gold glitter paper, I knew I was set.
I decided to give the glitter paper a go with my Triple Time Stamping Technique.
Here is my card -

I have used my new Whisper White organza ribbon for my big bow. It is so easy to work with!
I really like how the glitter paper worked using this technique! It gives the card a bit of kick!!

Tutorial for Partial Die Cutting on your Card

Hi everyone! I have had a great response to the card that I made for ATCAS #8 (Wings) and there are a few of you out there that would like to know how to make it. So I decided to use my Sunday to create a tutorial.

I am also going to include a link at the bottom of the post so you can link up your awesome cards and we can all see how creative you are. I will add the vote function to this link and you can vote for your favourite!!

This is my first ever go at trying to create a tutorial so I hope it all makes sense :)

Are you ready? Here we go!

Supplies required

Stamps with co-ordinating dies
Big Shot or other die cutting machine
1 x cardstock measured at 4 3/4" x 7"
1 x cardstock at 4 3/4" x 3 1/2 "
Bone Scorer
Markers
Painters Tape (or other easily removable tape/adhesive)
Stamp pad

STEP ONE

The smaller piece of cardstock will act as a mask to show you the centre of your card. I use a different colour to your base card so it is easier to see. Use painters tape to adhere the die onto the top of the cardstock.

STEP TWO

You now need to TEMPORARILY adhere this piece of cardstock to your base card. I have used painters tape again but I use my fingers to remove a lot of the 'tack' on the tape first so it is easier to remove.

STEP THREE

Now, this is the tricky part. Using your multipurpose platform on Tab 2 (Bigshot), line up your clear plates on the bottom and top of the cardstock. You need to make sure that the edges of the clear plates are on top of the die where the pink cardstock meets the base cardstock only.
An easy way to remember is that you only want to cut the top part of the die.
Run the plates through your machine.

This should be how it looks once you have removed your mask.

STEP FOUR

Now repeat Step Three by placing the die in a different position.

Once you have removed the mask, your base cardstock should look like this. As you can see, you have only partially die cut the cardstock!

STEP FIVE

Now you can fold your card and score along the crease.

STEP SIX

Take your stamp, ink it up and align the stamp with the die cuts you have made.

STEP SEVEN

Now you can fill in the spaces with more stamping. I have used two Hero Arts stamps with the large and small butterfly. You can do whatever you like - all the same size or more than two!

Now all there is to do is colour your butterflies!!

Here is the original card that I made -

Don't forget that if you want a sentiment, make sure you leave enough room. This card was made for a CAS challenge so I wanted to leave plenty of white space.

There are so many ideas that I have for this and it doesn't have to be CAS!
You could fill the card completely! You could even stamp and die cut a few more of the butterflies and pop them up on dimensionals for an extra cool effect!

Another great set to use would be the Hearts a Flutter with the co-ordinating dies!!

So!! Now it is your turn! I can't wait to see what you come up with. I will have the link open for a month to give you time to come up with some great ideas and then we will start voting!!

Inkspirational Colour Challenge

Hi everyone! It's the start of a new month with a new sponsor over at Inkspirational!!! This is an end of week encouragement post for you.
We have a great colour challenge for you this week. It's my job to hopefully inspire you to join in our challenge.

Perhaps you are feeling lucky with these colours ;)

I have made two, yes two, cards for this challenge. I wanted to show off some of the wonderful goodies that I have from our sponsor over at Inspired by Stamping.

Here is my first DT card -

Isn't that sentiment/quote just amazing. I have used a set called 'Butterfly Wings' and used a stamp to create some DP (I seem to be doing that a LOT lately lol). The sentiment (from the same set) was stamped and then cut with a lacy circle die. The gorgeous little flower is also from our sponsor.

Onto my second DT card -

For this card I have gone for a very 'soft' look. The beautiful ribbon is from our sponsor and called Sage Seam Binding. The sentiment is also from our sponsor and from a set called 'Cherish'. You will be seeing more of this stamp set as it is just beautiful! The little butterflies are from my Beautiful Wings embosslit.

The whole panel has been popped up on dimensionals.

Now, it is your turn! Pop on over to the challenge blog and get creating. I want to be GREEN WITH ENVY seeing your amazing entries!!

I would also like to enter these cards into the following challenges

Simon Says Stamp - A Bit O' Green
Card Makin' Mamas - Green
Dilly Beans - Green
Simply Create Too - Use Mostly Green

ATCAS - Challenge #8

This week our challenge is hosted by Florence!
Florence has chosen an AWESOME code word for you which is
And this to me was a no-brainer! Butterflies!
And here is my DT card -
I created this one layer card using a technique that I had learned at my Online Card Classes - Partial Die Cutting. This is where the butterfly die (from Hero Arts) was placed in the middle of the card before folded and only cut through a partial part of the card. I did this for two butterflies. Then I stamped where the die had been cut and then randomly on the card.

I would be happy to try and put together a tutorial if anyone is interested. I love how the butterflies just pop off the card!
I have coloured the butterflies using Touch Twin Markers and then outlining them with a cool grey.
The sentiment is from my Whimsical Phrases set.
Our sponsor for this challenge is

Check out the other inspiration from the DT over at Addicted to CAS! We can't wait to see what you come up with.

For Your Inspiration

Hi there, yes another post, sorry! I couldn't wait to try out an idea that I had for the current challenge over at For Your Inspiration.
They have a photo inspiration challenge for us and as soon as I saw it, I had to try out my new die from Memory Box - Cityscape.
Here is the photo inspiration provided -
I really wanted to try and capture most of this photo in my card.
I have never sponged onto a card like I have on this one. I was quite nervous about doing it and I don't even know if I got all the 'technical' bits and pieces right.
All I knew was that I wanted to create a sunset setting with the water below the city.
Here is my card -

So for my sunset I used the following colours -

So Saffron, Rose Red and Pumpkin Pie.
I started with covering the area I wanted to have the sunset with So Saffron. Then using the Rose Red and Pumpkin Pie I just kept building and blending the colours.

For my water I used -

Bashful Blue, Marina Mist and Concord Crush - using the same technique as I did for my sunset. I probably should have 'shaped' the colours a little more to emphasize the reflections of the buildings?

As I hadn't used the dies before, I wasn't even really sure what papers to use. I just went with the yellow and black. Perhaps I should have blacked out some of the lights because surely not everyone is home??!!?? I popped the die up onto dimensionals.

I was happy with the sponging effect I achieved for my first go. Constructive criticism is MOST WELCOME for me to improve!!!

CAS for Easter

Hi there! I really wanted to create a card for some challenges that I just usually dont have the time to enter. So I checked them out and found I could incorporate the three challenges for this card.
Firstly I am using the sketch from -
The cue card from -
and last but not least the challenge over at
Here is my card -

I have used my Inspired by Stamping set - Easter. The gorgeous bunny is inked with Marina Mist and the sentiment is inked with Perfect Plum. The goregous two-toned flowers are also from Inspired by Stamping.
I have embossed two of my blocks with my Lattice folder. The middle block is Perfect Plum cardstock but it looks much, much darker in this photo.
This card will be for one of my neices - I have 5 and one on the way so I better get onto more!

CC&S - Colour Challenge

Hi there! Over at CAS - Colours and Sketches we have a colour challenge for you and it is sooo nice!

Here is my DT card -

I used my Delicate Doilies set inked in Certainly Celery to create the background DP. A simple lacy circle mounted on dimensionals with a sentiment (from Friendly Phrases) stamped in Rich Razzleberry.

So, don't forget that to enter this challenge, you must create a CARD using the colour inspiration provided and keep it CAS.

I can't wait to see you over there!

CAS at ATSM

Phew! What a week we had over at ATSM! A huge amount of entries made it so very exciting and now the daunting task of choosing favourites!

We do have a new challenge over there right now!

We are Addicted to CAS this week and can't wait to see what you come up with!

Here is my DT card -

I think this is as CAS as I have ever made any card! I simply cut three different strips of paper and placed them on the card and popped a sentiment on the middle strip.
The two dotty papers are from my Frightful Sight set and the middle strip is Natural White cardstock. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches and inked with Old Olive.

Easy peasy!!

I hope to see you over at ATSM!

Spring theme for Mothers Day

Hi there everyone! I hope you are all well.

Today I have a card for you that is a very different style for me. I don't know if it works, but I had fun making this card. Usually I am pretty CAS but I really wanted to use heaps of the flowers that I have for this Mother's Day card.

Here it is -

This card is comprised of a LOT of flowers from the amazing Inspired by Stamping. White daisies and roses. Aren't they amazing! I have used Glossy Accents to adhere them to my card.

The sentiment (inked with Concord Crush) is from Inspired by Stamping and is part of the set called Floral Love.

The butterflies are from my Beautiful Wings embosslit and my two Memory Box dies called Pippi Buterfly and Isabella Butterfly.

Here is a close up of the gorgeous flowers -

The faux stitching was the final touch.

I will be entering my card into the following challenges -

The Outlawz - Monday Greeting Card Challenge - Flowers and Butterflies
Glitter n sparkle - Mothers Day
Polka Doodle - Spring Flowers

I also was given a 'heads up' for the challenge over at the Paper Players for their challenge - In Stitches (I can't believe I missed this in my blog roll!!)
