Less is More #443 - Sketch

Hello and happy Saturday! It's time for a new challenge over at Less is More and we have a fun sketch for you.

I went quite literal with the sketch. I kept the shapes and layout.

I've used this set by Stampin' Up! called 'Pampered Pets' a few times, unfortunately. I mean, I love the set but it's been used mainly for friends who have lost their fur babies :(
I coloured this puppy using polychromo pencils and did a 'rough' job to add a bit of texture.

I would like to enter my card over at the following challenges -
Colour Crazy Challenge (Anything Goes), Creative Moments (Anything Goes), A Place to Start (Anything Goes), Make My Monday (Sympathy), Crafty Animals (Anything Goes), Crafty Hazelnut's Challenge (Anything Goes with Patterned Paper)

Thank you for popping by and I hope to see you playing along with our sketch challenge :)

Heartfelt Sympathy

I received sad news last Thursday. My best friend's sister passed away suddenly. She was only 47 :(
I have made some cards to send to her and her mum. Some of you who came to the HLS retreat in Swindon may remember Simone and her mum, Anne. Their loss is heartbreaking.

Card #1
This is for Anne
I embossed the flowers and watercoloured them using my Zig pens. The images and coordinating dies are from a set called 'Tenderness' by Penny Black. The sentiment is a HLS set called Doodled Flowers.

Card #2
This is for Simone.
I embossed the flower image from a set called Blossom Sprays #3 by STAMPlorations. I watercoloured the image and background. The sentiment is from the same HLS set that I used for the first card.

I would like to enter my cards over at the following challenges -
Card #1 - Just Us Girls (Photo), Watercooler Challenges (Occasions), The Crafter's Cafe (Flowers),
Card #2 - Challenge up your Life (Focus on the Flowers), Cardz 4 Galz (Black and Pink), Creative Sketchy Girls (Flowers)

Thanks for stopping by :)

With Heartfelt Sympathy

Happy Sunday, how are you all?

Have you seen my previous post earlier today? There is a new CAS challenge over at Happy Little Stampers and a DT call on for ALL of our monthly challenges

Today I am sharing with you three sympathy cards that I made last week. When I was on my cruise, my Aunty Glynnis passed away from cancer. She was 58. I was obviously unable to make the funeral :( Then a couple of days later my step-pop lost his brother, Athol. I had never actually met Athol or his wife Mary but as dad and I were attending the funeral as support for my pop and nan, I thought it would be nice to make Mary a card.

Here is my first card that I made for my Nan after losing her only daughter

Stamps: SU! -Apothecary Art, Inspired by Stamping - Fancy Sentiments
Coloured with Stampin' Write Markers and I added tiny little pearls to the center of the flowers

I would like to enter this card into

In the Pink - Fussy and Fancy or Clean and Simple (mine is CAS)

This card was made for my pop

I CASED one of my own cards for this one. I used the acrylic block stamping and you can find my tutorial HERE

Stamps: SU! - French Foliage, SU! - Simply Sketched

I would like to enter this card at

Suzy Bee's Bloomin' Challenge - Anything Goes but no patterned paper

My last card was made for Mary. A woman I had never met so it was hard to decide what to create. I had received a new feather die with a craft magazine so I used it.

Just the one stamp on this one. SU! - Simply Sketched

I would like to enter this card into

Loves Rubber Stamps - Use at least 2 dies
Sister Act #104 - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for looking xx

With Sympathy

Hi everyone. I hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Last night I received a phone call from my best friend to say that her dad had passed away. I will be off to a funeral on Wednesday. Today I retreated to my craft room to make a couple of sympathy cards for her family.

Here is my first card -

I have used my new SU set here - Serene Silhouettes. To create my background, I inked up an acrylic block, misted it with water and then pressed it to my cardstock. I then used a sponge to smooth out the ink. The sentiment is from the Simply Sketched set by SU.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenge -

Crafting When We Can - Make your own Background

Here is my 2nd card -

Here I have used stamps and dies from Inspired by Stamping. The rose (coloured with Spectrum Noir markers) is from the Elegant Flower set and the dies are Fancy Labels Dies 1

I would like to enter this into the following challenges -

CAS on Sunday - Sympathy
613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes/Use a Sentiment

Thanks so much for looking xx

ATCAS #16 - TAKE FLIGHT

Hellooooooo!!

Happy Saturday!! I hope you are having better weather than I am right now! Heaps of rain. I may have to get the boat ready in case the waters rise!! lol.

We have a brand new challenge starting right now over at Addicted to CAS.

Here is your code word -

The wonderful and talented Karen is your host this week. We also have a wonderful sponsor!

Grab a Banner

Our CAS Perfectionist will receive a prize of 4 images of your choice from the store!!

Here is my DT card -

I decided to use a bird stamp for my interpretation of Take Flight. I could have used butterflies but I thought it was a little predictable. So, I decided to use a brand new stamp set from SU which is a sneak peek of a hostess set that will be available when the new catalogue arrives - It is called Simply Sketched and has a gorgeous assortments of stamps. The little 'splats' that I have used is from my new set called 'French Foliage' (SU). I have seen it around in blog land for quite a while and have finally got it!!

I simply coloured the image with different SU markers and stamped onto Whisper White cardstock, chopped off the corners with a small circle punch and popped it up on dimensionals onto Crumbcake cardstock. Voila!!

I can't wait to see all the interpretations of this code word so get cracking and join us over at the challenge blog!

Thanks so much for looking xx

CC&S - Colours

Hi everyone and yep, second post for me today.

Firstly, I would just like to mention that my friend and fellow team mate at CAS Colour and Sketches, Sandie, is enjoying her birthday today! Please don't forget to pop by her blog and give her your wishes.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANDIE!!!!

Now, onto my DT card for the current challenge at CAS Colour and Sketches.

Well, here are the colours first :)

We have used Stampin' Up colours but you may use the closest colours that you have in your stash.

I used my Lovely as a Tree set (SU) which I have BARELY used and must make amends.
I simply used my Stampin' Write markers directly onto the stamps. I don't have Calypso Coral so I substituted it with Tangerine Tango.  I feel that Sympathy cards should be as Clean and Simple as can be - much more powerful in my opinion.

I hope you join us over at CAS Colours and Sketches. Don't forget your card must be clean and simple and you must use stamping.

Thanks so much for looking xx

CAS - Colours and Sketches

We have a brand new sketch challenge for you this week!

I have substituted the heart shape for my scalloped circle die.

I have used my fancy fan embossing folder for the background panel. The sentiment is from my Petite Pairs set and the rose is from Inspired by Stamping.

We hope to see you over at CAS - COLOURS AND SKETCHES

Thanks for looking xx

ATCAS #4 - Embossing

I'm so excited to be back and creating for Addicted to CAS and I can't wait to see what you all come up with this fortnight.
Here is our new Code Word - the first for 2013!
We are so lucky to have a terrific sponsor with us for this challenge. Beverley from Uniko Studios is offering an amazing prize pack for our CAS Perfectionist.
All the prize details can be found on the challenge blog.
I have two cards to share with you today.
My first card is using the butterfly image that you can see in the digi pack offered by Uniko Studios. I have coloured it with my Stampin' Write markers and then gone over it with my clear gelly roll pen. This gave it LOTS of sparkle!
I have embossed my panel with my Lattice folder (one of my favourites).
My second card is using my Elements of Style set and that awesome glimmer paper! Are you sick of seeing this yet? ;)
The Hummingbird was stamped with Versamark ink and then heat embossed with Cherry Cobbler powder. The Crumbcake, Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black go so well together. I have doodled my border with my White gel pen.
Now, head on over to see what the DT have come up with. As usual, they have created spectacular examples for your inspiration. I'm so lucky to have such an amazing team!
Thanks so much for looking xx

With Sympathy

There has been a loss in the Fire Brigade family. I was to buy a card for training tomorrow so everyone could sign it but I decided to make it instead.

I used my Elements of Style stamp set combined with my stamp-a-ma-jig to repeat the same stamp. I have no sentiments that are appropriate so I made my own and printed it out. Finished off with the three pearls.

Just Add Ink Challenge #21 - Pearls

After a big today, I jumped on to have a look at the newest JAI challenge. This challenge is awesome! I loved the Pearl theme as I don't really think to use them that often.

You can find the challenge HERE

I used my new framelit dies, whisper white ribbon, Elements of Style stamp set coloured in with Marina Mist marker.

Dynamic Duos #3 - Black Tie & Simply Stampin #60 - Theme

Hi everyone, another great challenge at Dynamic Duos. This week it is Dynamic Duos #3 - Black Tie week with Dessert option

I had quite a few ideas for this and the inspiration cards by the DT were fantastic!

This is the end result - as usual a very CAS design. I start off trying to think of everything I could put on the one card and then it ends up like this lol.

Thanks to the awesome Kelly, I am going to enter this card into the Simply Stampin Challenge #60 - Theme as well. Can't wait to see the other challenges there!
