Heartfelt Sympathy

I received sad news last Thursday. My best friend's sister passed away suddenly. She was only 47 :( 

I have made some cards to send to her and her mum. Some of you who came to the HLS retreat in Swindon may remember Simone and her mum, Anne. Their loss is heartbreaking.

Card #1

This is for Anne

I embossed the flowers and watercoloured them using my Zig pens. The images and coordinating dies are from a set called 'Tenderness' by Penny Black. The sentiment is a HLS set called Doodled Flowers.

Card #2

This is for Simone.

I embossed the flower image from a set called Blossom Sprays #3 by STAMPlorations. I watercoloured the image and background. The sentiment is from the same HLS set that I used for the first card.

Less is More #418 - Recipe

Happy Saturday! Time for a new challenge over at Less is More. We have a FUN challenge for you -

Here are my cards -

Card #1

I used different shades of blue archival ink for my background (Splat stamp from HLS Mixed Media Fun set). I embossed my butterfly and coloured it with Zig Watercolour pens, also in different shades of blue.

Card #2

Using a panel of watercolour paper I used my water pens with brushos to add colour drying in between. I used clean water to 'paint' the drips so the colour would run. Would you believe I used the same splat stamp that I used in my first card on this card? I picked up brusho colour and just randomly stamped and dried between colours. It wasn't meant to give a clear impression of the stamp, it was just another way to get the layers/texture.

Birthday Books

Hi everyone, I hope you are safe and well.

I am a Pharmacy Assistant and in these crazy times, work is harder and busier than ever. I try and retreat to my craft room on my days off to switch off and relax. 

Last night I created this card. I stamped a heap of images from the Waffle Flower 'Books and Coffee' set, and just coloured in while watching some TV. 

I die cut the images and started to arrange them to create this cute little scene.

Perfectly CAS #8 - Masking

Hi everyone! Over at Perfectly CAS we have a new fun challenge for you!

I used a new to me set by Waffle Flower called Books & Coffee. I did some simple masking and colouring for this one. I added a trio of glitter dots to finish off.

Less is More #417 - Theme

Hello! It's time for a new challenge over at Less Is More. This fortnight we have a theme of -

My card -

I opted for an obvious choice and attempted a bokeh effect. I seem to have a LOT of trouble when it comes to white ink. I have Stayz On Cotton White (sorry, but I really dislike this ink and how hard it is to clean) and Colour Box (Teresa Collins) Posh White (this seems VERY watery to me). Does anyone have a favourite white ink and if you do please let me know!

I feel the bokeh effect worked out okay but I just wasn't impressed with the inks and the grainy images.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

Today is the start of a new monthly challenge over at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge. Our theme this month is 

ANYTHING GOES WITH THE OPTION OF RIBBON OR TWINE

Here is my card -

I have been shopping like crazy lately! I've been able to acquire heaps of Penny Black stamps to add to my collection. So, this is a new to me set called Furry Affection.

I coloured the cats and umbrella with polychromos and gamsol, then stamped my sentiment (HLS Smile!). I decided to follow our optional theme and added some simple twine to finish off.
