New Release at Inspired by Stamping

Hi there everyone. Today I am sharing another card with you using the Seaside set from Inspired by Stamping.

I really loved how this fella turned out.

First, I cut two panels for the front of my card. I die cut an oval out of one of them then placed it on top of the other and lightly traced around the inside of the oval. This was so I knew exactly where I would be stamping my images.

I stamped the pelican first and then made a mask from a post-it note. Then I stamped the wooden posts so he would be standing on them.

I masked both images and sponged the background with distress inks.

I stamped the sentiment and then adhered both panels together.

This card actually came together nice and quick and I was very happy with the end result.

New Releases at Inspired by Stamping!!

Woo hooo! It's New Release week at Inspired by Stamping and the new designs that Joanna has come up with has us all excited - AGAIN! She never ceases to amaze us.

I have inked up the Seaside set to create this yummy beach scene.

The first thing I did was stamp the beach chairs and then used stamped them again onto a post-it note so I could make a mask.

I tore up a piece of paper to create more masks and I sponged distress inks for the sand, water and sky.

I created faux sea foam by using True Snow applied with a small brush.

I really like how this turned out and this stamp set is really fun with lots of seaside themed images. The sky is the limit!

Here is the new set -

Stay tuned all week because each day there will be more inspiration using the new stamps over at the blog.

New Release starts today at Inspired by Stamping!

Hi everyone and welcome! Today is the beginning of the New Release at Inspired by Stamping and it is a cracker!

Today the Big Wonderful set is on show but I have also used the lighthouse from an upcoming new release as a little sneak peek for you ;)

Here is my card -

I started by stamping the lighthouse and then creating a mask so I could sponge my sky.

I used Spectrum Noir markers to add hints of colour to the light, grass and sea.

I absolutely LOVE the sentiment I created with this new set.

Don't forget that each day at the blog, there will be a new release so pop on over to see what is happening!

Happy Mothers Day No.2

Hi everyone and happy Sunday to you.

Today I would like to share with you a card I made my step-mother for Mothers Day.

For the main panel I used a stencil and texture paste. Once it was dry, I sprinkled some brushos and sprayed them with water.

The butterfly was embossed over a scrap piece of card that had already used this technique. Lucky how the colours were very similar!

I used the Butterflies set from Inspired by Stamping

There is more inspiration from the design team over at the blog if you would like to check it out!

We also have a new Christmas Challenge starting in July so keep an eye out for that.

We are holding a DT call for all of our monthly challenges so if you are interested in applying, please pop on over to the blog for all the details.

I made a very quick card last night as a reminder for our current CAS challenge which is to use Dies/Punches.

Here is my card

I have stamped the background using my grunge set from SU in three different shades of purple. I then die cut the letters straight from that panel and three more times from white card. Once I had adhered my panel to my card, I started layering the die cuts by gluing them together.

The letters are the PTI block alphabet dies and the sentiment was stamped from their Big Birthday Wishes set.

Here is a close up of the die cuts

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges

Inkspirational - Purple
Time Out - Grunge

Summer fun with Inspired by Stamping

Hi everyone! This week we are concentrating on Summer Cards over at the IBS blog.

We are well into Autumn in Australia but luckily where I live it isn't too cold. Let's just say I can still walk around bare foot! :)

Here is my card -

For my little panel, I used distress ink to colour the sea and then used a paint swatch for my sand. It has texture on it and really feels like sand.

My breaking wave froth was created by using True Snow. I applied it with a small brush.

My thongs (flip flops) were stamped and then fussy cut out. Where they are off the panel, I popped them up with foam pads.

I have used a really fun set from Inspired by Stamping to create this card - Summer Fun

I added the Hello and Summer onto the one acrylic block so I only needed to stamp once.

A few little sequins finished this off.

I hope you have been enjoying the cards being showcased all week over at the blog.

Brusho Techniques - Video Tutorial

Hi there everyone. Well by popular demand, I have created a video tutorial using Brushos. My most favourite technique at the moment is using Brushos, Starch and Cling Wrap.

I made a birthday card for Sandie and I had a lot of interest in how I made the background. So, sit back and enjoy as I show you 3 different ways that I use my Brushos.

Here is the card I made for Sandie just to give you a reminder. Using Brushos has different results every time you use them so I will never create the same background over and over which is awesome!

Happy Birthday Balloons

Happy Sunday!

Yesterday I had a chance to play with some new PTI goodies that arrived on Friday. I bought a few stamp sets and a couple of die sets.

The challenge at Colour Q helped get me started with this fun birthday card -

I've used my little balloon dies from Lil' Inkers. I didn't quite have the colours I needed in my card stock stash so I sponged ink over white card stock instead.

The alphabet dies are from PTI as is the stamp from the Big Birthday set. I liked the effect of the negative space in the balloons.

Now looking at my card, perhaps I should have created some little balloon strings. Nevermind :)

Surprise! Happy Birthday Sandie!!!!!

Hello!! What a special day today is!

It all came about with a little conniving between myself, Sarah Gray and Sarah Platt to put together a surprise birthday bash for Sandie of London Days.

Sandie is my London bestie who put up with me (I mean put me up) when I went all the way to Europe from Australia just over a year ago. We had the most amazing time together. We are constantly in touch and not a day goes by without me missing her.

Sandie is on the Design Team for Addicted to Stamps and More (my challenge blog) and she is a god send. Really! She does a lot behind the scenes and always asks if there is more she can do. Sandie also designs for Inkspirational, Uniko Studios and owns her own challenge blog Time Out.

I know a lot of us share the same opinion of Sandie. Selfless, tireless, dependable and so generous. She is always commenting on as many blogs are humanely possible.

So! Here's to you Sandie. A very special surprise birthday linky party in your honour. Enjoy!!

Here is my card -

Sandie is a huge fan of purple and her favourite style is CAS. She loves a butterfly here and there and also the odd enamel dot or sequin. I decided to encompass all of these elements on my card.

I have to say that this is the best outcome I have had using my Brushos, Starch and Cling Wrap technique. I'm not so timid with smooshing the cling wrap onto my colours. I just slap it on these days and leave it be for at least 30 minutes.

The Butterfly and Sentiment are from Inspired by Stamping

Please play along and don't forget to spread the word! The linky will run for the rest of the month so we can keep celebrating Sandie's birthday throughout May.

Summer Card

Happy Friday! Today I am sharing with you a summer themed card. The design team over at Inspired by Stamping have been showcasing summer projects all week over at the blog so if you have missed out on anything don't forget to pop on over.

I die cut my sand and sea and positioned them on my cardstock. When I was happy I adhered them and trimmed any overhang.

I stamped my sentiment using the Big Hello set.

and then stamped and fussy cut the thongs and beach umbrella from the Summer Fun set.

These are great sets to coordinate with each other!

I hope you have enjoyed all the Summer Fun over at the blog!

Summer Projects with Inspired by Stamping

Hi there everyone. This week at Inspired by Stamping, we are concentrating on Summer Projects.

Projects aren't really my forte but I really enjoyed making this one.

Using a 10" x 8" canvas, I used some acrylic paint to create the splattered background.

Then I had to create the background colours for my butterflies. I sprinkled brushos onto watercolour, sprayed the paper with water and then dried them with my heat gun.

While I was waiting for the canvas to dry, I started embossing my butterflies. I then fussy cut them all out.

Using foam pads, I popped them up on the canvas.

To give them more dimension, I bent their wings.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment.

Here is the stamp set I have used -

Relax - Inlaid Dies

Good morning! I hope your Monday is off to a good start.

Today I am sharing a card with you that I have made for a few challenges. The first is to remind you about the CAS - Dies/Punches challenge at Happy Little Stampers. I am also playing over at Less Is More - One Layer with Water theme and Casology's Shape challenge

Here is my card

I tried the inlaid die technique a few days ago for an upcoming HLS challenge and decided to try it again but with a few more elements.

I used the stamps and dies from Lawn Fawns Life is Good sets. What a great way to create a one layer card with die cuts. I think it is really effective!
