I decided to try my hand at making a shaped card thanks to the inspiration at Just Add Ink.
I haven't really made one of these before so I was a little concerned lol.
Anyway, I put one together and it worked ok.
By the time I put this altogether, I decided I didn't like the black base. Perhaps I should have stuck with Very Vanilla?
I have used my Framelit Label dies. I actually used ALL of them except for one. The DSP is from the Flirtatious set. I used my paper piercing template for the very first time on the vanilla die cut. The middle stamp from my Apothecary set was inked in Old Olive.
I have just realised that I am quite partial to butterflies, lol. I seem to use them a LOT! The butterflies were created using my Beautiful Wings embosslit.
The flowers are from Inspired by Stamping and are glued on with Glossy Accents.
Anyway, practice makes perfect (I hope) and I need a lot of practice!!
Thanks so much for looking! xx
I Don' t think you need ANY practice! This looks fabulous! I can't decide about the black base, perhaps a lighter colour but it looks great the way it is!
ReplyDeleteLove all the sweet flowers and pretty colors!
ReplyDeleteI think the black base gives it great definition... I'm sure a Vanilla one would also look great, though!

I like the black base, Kylie; it really makes the top layers 'pop'. This is very pretty. Go you, stretching yourself out of your comfort zone (I had to, too, to make a shaped card - eek!). Thanks for playing along with us at Just Add Ink!
ReplyDeleteI think the black works perfectly Kylie, it makes a lovely frame for the softer colours. Very pretty card, love the white flower and butterflies! Thanks forjoining us at Just Add Ink.
ReplyDeleteThe black base does work Kylie! Had to laugh when you said you used all the framelits but it doesn't look too much - I love all the layers :) Thanks for joining us at Just Add Ink this week.
ReplyDeleteYep totally agree with the others..the black makes it pop. Thanks so much for playing along with us at JAI this week!
