Hi there everyone are you up for a challenge where Anything Goes?
Over at ATSM, that's the challenge just started. Please make sure you follow our rules as there is a great prize up for grabs.
Firstly, onto my DT card -
I thought glossy card stock was hard to photograph..... mama mia!!!!
I took inspiration from the current SU catalogue to make this. In the catalogue, they use this card as a wedding card. I just love the colours together and wanted to recreate it and put my own spin on it.
So, I have made the base out of a transparency. The back inside panels are Basic Grey and Glossy White. The front panel (and also the inside) is cut from my new set of Polka Dot Parade DSP. I used my Framelits Label collection die on Basic Grey and used my paper piercing template around the edge. The banner is from my Heart A Flutter die set and used a partial die cutting technique to create a double ended banner. I have stamped the sentiment with Basic Grey ink onto a scrap piece of the Polka Dot Parade DSP and cut it using a circle die.
The little flowers were cut using my Itty Bitty punch on Glossy White and then a big dob of yellow stickles for the centres.
That's it! It was a little fiddly but I enjoyed making it. I think I will be using a lot more of grey and yellow together. It's so lovely.
So, off to the challenge blog you should go to check out the other inspiration from the DT.

Hi Kylie. Awesome color combination. Love all the special details with the piercing and flowers. And, of course, LOVE the polka-dots. What a fabulous idea to place it on a transparent card base. Have not tried that - it's soooooo cool! :) Loll xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card, Kylie. Love the transparent background ... nightmare to photograph (it shows every little spec of dust and finger prints from my experience). Love the dotty paper and the way you layered your focal point as well.

Hi Kylie, the transparent card base is such a funky idea and I like yellow and grey combo too, this all makes for a stunning card x
ReplyDeleteGrey and yellow work so well together! The transparent base is really contemporary and looks stunning! I have to try to get hold of it somehow. :) I wonder if it's difficult to score? Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely Kylie, your colours are stunning and I love the transparency as a card base - Jacqueline xx
ReplyDeleteHi Kylie, great colour combo and I like how you made the sentiment the central image on the acetate. The little flowers are a perfect touch.
ReplyDeleteReally like acetate cards - always so unexpected. But a real bugger to photograph, eh?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card KL. Love these colour together and the use of acetate. You did a really great job on the photo.
