Well, hello there. I hope you are all having a great start to your weekend.
I have to admit that it is starting to get cooler here now. I tease all the ladies on my DT about how it is nearly winter here and I still walk around with bare feet etc. Well, the ugg boots are on, so I hope you are happy!! I am still getting rotten hayfever though. I mean, it's only cold when you have lived here for so long and you get aclimatised to the weather. My family in Canberra would laugh at me for feeling cold when they are getting temps REALLY low down south. So, it is still warm enough for my lemon tree to still be flowering and producing massive lemons, my roses are going strong and, well, so are all the other flowers. Hence, the hayfever.
That was a bit of a rant, so onto the more exciting things like the newest challenge that has just started over at Addicted to CAS.
I am your host this week and I have chosen the code word
And here is my DT card -
I loved how this card turned out but my love turned to hate when trying to photograph it. OMG - I have never used glossy cardstock before and I probably wont be again. I finally got a decent pic but left it until the 11th hour while the sun has just about gone down. (It is only 5.30pm while I am scheduling this post and already it's pitch black outside).
So you already know that I used glossy white cardstock. I stamped the candles and sentiment which are from my Birthday Banter set (SU). I then waved my heat gun over it for a bit. I have no idea if I was meant to or not but I did ;)
I placed the repetative stamp using my stamp-a-ma-jig and then just coloured with my markers (SU). The panel has been popped up with dimensionals.
Well, I hope you can join us for this challenge over at Addicted to CAS. I can't wait to see everyone's birthday cards!
We also have a cool sponsor for you - our CAS Perfectionist will get 7 digis of their choice.
Check out the blog and the DT creations - you will love them!
Thanks so much for looking xx
I just love your card Kylie and I bet it looks amazing in real life on the glossy paper:) All those little candles look so cute too. It's nice to hear that I am not the only one living in ugh boots - but they sure are comfy! Have a great weekend - hugs xx
ReplyDeleteReally love this KL. Fabulous stamping. Lovely clean lines on the glossy card. Wish I had some decent ugg boots. Wet and cold here as well.

LOVE this and will be casing it immediately as I have a friend desperate to stock up on birthday cards, and is taking them as quickly as I can make them!
ReplyDeleteFirstly i am miffed that I only have balconies and that you have lemon trees and other gorgeousness in your garden, am such a jelous person !!The temps are in the 30's today here in Greece and I am trapped inside building shelves and painting but that is another story. A fabulous card SK love those candles such a super design. It reminds me of my 40th many moons ago when I insisted on having forty candles on the cake, there was nearly a fire and we would have required your expertise.

Glossy paper and glitter - BOTH are impossible - I don't know why they drive cameras crazy!!?? I love your row of bitty candles, although it does seem to represent an almost-50 birthday which most don't want to be reminded of!!!
ReplyDeleteCAS perfection my friend x
ReplyDeleteSuper gorgeous C&S card, Kylie. I can feel your pain about photographing. I use my prehistoric mobile phone camera and by the time I end up taking a decent photo I end up totally exhausted.
ReplyDeleteMichaela xx
So fun! You are correct - shiny card stock is awful to photograph! :)
