Christmas Poinsettia

Hi there, I have a quick post tonight to share a card I just made. After a full weekend of work and nanny duties, I decided some 'colouring in' to help wind down.

I have a new Penny Black stamp from the brushstroke collection called Christmas Red. I was a little intimidated to use it so I went all out and even used a technique that I'm not comfortable with. No line colouring.

I used my MISTI to stamp the image with antique linen ink. My polychromo pencils were used to create the outlines and then blended my colouring with gamsol and blending stump. You won't be able to see it in this photo but I also covered the whole thing with glitter using a Spectrum Noir pen.
I fussy cut the poinsettia then used a guillotine to give it a nice edge. I stamped the sentiment (using my MISTI), then poped up the poinsettia with foam tape.

I would like to enter my card over at the following challenges -
Penny Black Saturday Challenge (Sparkle and Shine), Penny Black and More (Flowers), My Time to Craft (Christmas Flowers), Day of the Month Cart Club (Poinsettia Day)

Thanks for popping in today. Only 3 more sleeps until Christmas! I hope you have a magical day :)

Challenge me a Christmas Card with Michelle Lupton

Hello everyone! Once again, I am joining Michelle with her yearly Christmas Card Challenge. Michelle has guest designers who challenge her to create a 'particular' type of Christmas card and we all create something as well.

I challenged Michelle to create a 'Humourous' card.

Here is mine -

I sort of panicked when I started looking through my stash because I really don't have any humourous Christmas sets, LOL. So, I had to get a little creative.
I stamped Santa (he always makes me laugh because of his 'whatever' look) and coloured him with my polychromos. I have a really nice stamp set by PTI which allows you to create letters to Santa. I decided that the recipient of this card would be on his naughty list.

Don't forget to pop on over to Michelle's blog to see her funny card!

I would like to enter my card over at the following challenges:
Sisterhood of Crafters (Christmas), Try It On Tuesday (Christmas is coming), Crafty Cardmakers (Christma), Christmas Crafts All Year Round (Santa, Mrs Claus, or Elves). STAMPlorations (Anything CAS Goes + optional Christmas Colours)

HLS December CAS Challenge

Welcome! Today kick's off the CAS challenge over at Happy Little Stampers. Even though it's stinking hot here in Australia, we have a theme that will help cool things down :)

My card was stamped with a snowflake from HLS Let it Snow. I stamped the sentiment with versafine ink then embossed it with clear powder.

I hope to see you plaing over at the challenge blog!

Happy Birthday Ethan

Hi everyone, today is Ethan's 10th Birthday. Natalie, a co-worker of mine, is Ethan's mum and describes him as a kind and loving young man. I wasn't at work today but have a card to deliver tomorrow :)

Here is my card -

This is a set by Woodware that I bought whilst in the UK a couple of years ago. It unfortunately hasn't had much use so I thought a pirate theme would be perfect for Ethan.

I stamped the image then created a mask. I used torn paper and distress ink to create my background. I also used a brown glitter pen to give texture to the sand. Once my background was complete I removed the mask from the image and coloured him using polychromo pencils and gamsol. This card came together very quickly!

I hope Ethan likes his card - Happy Birthday, mate :)

I would like to enter my card over at the following challenges -
AAA Cards (see graphic below), Send a Smile 4 Kids (Anything Goes for kids), Lavinia World Challenges (Anything Goes), Lost Coast Designs (For the Men)

Thanks for popping in today :)

Working on the Christmas Stash

Happy Sunday everyone :)

This weekend was busy with me with work and then our Christmas party. I've spent today doing the dreaded housework plus a little spare time was spent in the craft room.

I had previously stamped some images for me to come back to so I could colour them and finish up the cards. I'm working on extras for my Christmas stash as they will need to be posted pretty soon!

Card #1
I masked my image first so I could create the background using distress ink. I coloured Santa with my polychromo pencils and gamsol.

Card #2
Once again, I masked the images. I tore some paper to create some 'snowdrifts'. While the images were still masked, I used a stencil and distress ink to create the background. I also flicked a little white paint for interest. Polychromo pencils and gamsol were used to colour these cuties.

I would like to enter my cards over at the following challenges -
Card #1 - Simon Says Stamp (Starry, Starry Night), Sparkles Christmas Challenge (Santa), 12 Months of Christmas (Anything Goes)
Card #2 - Cute Card Thursday (Winter), Penny Black and More (Christmas), STAMPlorations Stencil Challenge (Anything Goes)

Thanks for popping in today, I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Merry Christmas [from all of us]

Hey! I have been busy this weekend having a Nanny sleepover with my grandson Benjamin then working in the yard. For some downtime I decided to count my Christmas card stash and realising I needed quite a few more, it was the perfect time to start creating.

I really love combining stamp sets to create new and fun sentiments. I also love the craft destash sites on FB that I am a member of :) I bought this really cute set full of adorable animals and decided to use some for a Christmas card.
I also have a new found use for my designer paper. I really never use it.... but it is a great way to add a simple background. I have a few more cards that I will post over the next few days using paper this way.
The images and sentiments were stamped using my MISIT. Images were coloured using polychromo pencils and gamsol.

I would like to enter my card over at the following challenges -

Thanks!

Hi everyone, I hope you are having a great weekend. I have popped into my craft room this afternoon to create a card for the Surgeon who operated on my mum back on the 21st of October.

Mum was diagnosed with possible ovarian cancer due to an enormous cyst on her left ovary. Long story short, the cyst was removed (it was approx twice the size of a shoebox..), as was both mum's ovaries, her bowel was disected off the cyst as it had wrapped itself around it. Mum was having trouble with her appetitie - well, her stomach had been pushed up into her lung cavity.

So! A HUGE thank you to Dr Robyn Sayer (and her team) from the Lifehouse Cancer Hospital in Sydney AND the amazing nursing staff. This card is going to them :)

I started by sprinkling turquoise brusho on my craft mat, then spritzed it with a bit of water. I smooshed my card into the brusho. I also used some gold mica powder mixed with water picked up with a paintbrush to flick it over the card. This created my background.

I then smooshed another panel but also heated some embossing enamel for a bit of texture. I die cut my buttrflies twice - once with the smooshed panel and also using black card. I popped up the smooshed butterflies using a little foam tape.

My mum is now home recovering well. Thanks to everyone in the crafting community who has been sending their best wishes :)

I would like to enter my card over at the following challenges -
The Crafters Cafe Challenge Blog (Insects/Butterflies), Mix it Up Challenge Blog (Anything Goes + Watercolour), Cut it Up (Thankful theme + Smooshing Technique and Die Cuts), Watercooler Wednesday Challenge (Anything Goes)

HLS November CAS Challenge

Hi everyone! This month at Happy Little Stampers CAS, it's all about Christmas!

I have made two cards -

Card #1
This crazy looking angel is from the Katzelkraft Sherlock Holmes set. I coloured him with my polychromo's. The sentiment is an oldie from HLS Mixed Christmas Sentiments.

Card #2
This card was super easy to create. I embossed the sentiment with Liquid Platinum powder. That's it! This type of card would be perfect to mass produce as I used my MISTI for stamping. This sentiment is from a set from Mama Elephant called Season's Wishes

I hope you will play along over at the challenge blog :)

I would like to enter my cards over at the following challenges -
Card #1 - Creative Knockouts (CAS), AAA Cards (Maxi White Space)

Thanks for popping in today :)

Less Is More #407 - OLC Winter Flora

Happy Saturday. It's time for a new challenge over at LIM where we want you to create a ONE LAYER CARD with the theme of winter flora. Even though it's summer here in Australia at Christmas time, you can't go past good old Christmas cards using beautiful flora such as holly, mistletoe, and christmas trees (for example).

Here are my cards -

Card #1
For this card, I used a new stamp called Berry Kissed by Penny Black. I really like the watercolouring technique used with these stamps (incorporating the MISTI) but I haven't really mastered this technique. I decided to try no line colouring by stamping the image with Antique Linen ink then colouring with my polychromos. I went a little crazy with my white gel pen but the end result was okay :) The sentiment is an old one from the HLS Mixed Christmas Sentiments.

Card #2
This card was created using another HLS set called Merry Kissmas. I stamped the Mistletoe and sentiment at the same time using my MISTI. I coloured the image using some glitter pens. Easy!

Card #3
This stamp is from Sugar Plum Fairy by CAS-ual Fridays.  I am embossed the image straight onto my linen card, then coloured the star with a gold sharpie.

We have two guest designers for this challenge - Ankie (our August Winner) and our generous sponsor Bev (from Uniko).

I would like to enter my cards over at the following challenges -
Card #1 - Creative Sketchy Girls (Create a Christmas Card), Watercooler Wednesday Challenge (all about occasions),
Card #3 - Sweet Stampin' Christmas (Anything Goes + optional stars), Tuesday Throwdown (One Layer Wonder), CAS on Friday (Big Sentiment)

Thanks for popping in today and I hope to see you playing along at LIM :)

Perfectly CAS #2

Hi everyone, just a quick post from me today due to time constraints. I hope you are all excited about the second challenge over at Perfectly CAS!

It's an easy theme but not so easy style if you aren't used to creating CAS cards. Just follow the rules (you can find them over at the challenge blog) and you will be making the most perfect clean and simple cards in no time!

Here is my card -
I used an Avery Elle set called "All of Us". I coloured the bears with my polychromos then used the coordinating dies for both the bears and the sign. There was nearly no way I couldn't create a CAS card using these fellas :)

I would like to enter my card over at the following challenges -
The Male Room (CAS), STAMPlorations CAS Challenge (Anything Goes), Dare 2B Artzy (Cute Animals), CAS on Friday (Masculine), Just Add Ink (Add H - Happy Birthday)

Thanks for popping in today and I hope you will join us over at Perfectly CAS :)

HLS October CAS Challenge

Hello! It's time for a new CAS challenge over at Happy Little Stampers!

I recently received an order of new stamps which included these from Katzelkraft.
I had to get the Sherlock Holmes (and his furry friend) considering I am doing my degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice!

There aren't any sentiments with this set so I grabbed an appropriate one to follow our theme!
I paper pieced my Sherlock. So lovely in plaid!!! LOL

I would like to enter my card over at the following challenges -
As you like it Challenge (my favourite style is CAS because it comes natural to me), Mix it Up Challenge Blog (Open Technique - mine is paper piecing), Crafty Cardmakers (add a Critter)

See you over at Happy Little Stampers :)
