Inkspirational #170

Hey everyone and happy Saturday!

I'm usually at my 'other' job as a bartender when my Inkspirational posts go live and I can't ever check if they work until the next day. Does anyone else panic about this sort of thing? Lucky we have our crafting hobbies in our lives - it pretty much keeps me sane and we have a cool photo to inspire you for this challenge - it's all about CRAFTS

Here is my card -

This is one layer card. I embossed my butterflies with liquid platinum and stamped the little words around them. I included 'life' as one of the words because after my family, crafting IS my life!

Supplies Used:

Here is the inspiration photo for the new challenge at Inkspirational -

I also dabble in other crafts and have a FB page called Makyaibe Crafts where I showcase and sell my pieces (including some of my cards).

Here is a set that I not long finished -

If you google 'acrylic pouring' you will find so many techniques to try. If you DO give this a go, please be warned that it is seriously addictive!

Ok, that's it for me and I hope to see you playing along over at Inkspirational!

Inkspirational - One Layer Card

Hi there! Time for a new challenge over at Inkspirational. This fortnight we would like you to create only -

The best thing about one layer cards is they don't have to be any one design. They don't necessarily have to be CAS. You can keep layering with stencils and stamps to create amazing cards.

I have gone with a CAS style for my card and here it is -

I stamped my sentiment using my MISTI and then masked off that area with post-it tape. I stamped my holly quite randomly then removed the mask.

I used a ruler and pen to create the double lines. I coloured the holly with sharpie markers and then covered them with Wink of Stella.

Here are the products from HLS I used to create this card -

Sharpie Brush Tip Markers - 8 Pack    MISTI (Most Incredible Stamping Tool Invented) - BACKORDER

Easy peasy!!! I hope you will play along at our challenge over at Inkspirational :)

Thanks for popping in today.

Let's go One Layer with Neon!

Hi everyone! Today there is a special combination of challenge blogs with a very special challenge for you. Less is More and AAA Cards are coming together for a crazy two weeks of fun.

Happy Little Stampers is sponsoring this challenge for both LIM and AAA so I was asked to be a Guest Designer for them. Woo hoo.

Now, one layer cards do NOT worry me at all and then I found out it couldn't be on white cardstock. Argghhh! I actually don't have a lot to choose from when it comes to coloured cardstock but I had an unopened packet of neon colours that were perfect for this!

Here are my cards - (you may need your sunglasses for these ones!)

Simple stamping (using my MISTI) for Card #1 and a combination of stamping and inlaid diecuts for Card #2 and Card #3. Neon cardstock is a little slick so you have to be careful when stamping that you don't smudge your work.

Here are the products I have used from Happy Little Stampers for these cards -

MISTI (Most Incredible Stamping Tool Invented) - BACKORDER

I hope you will play along at the challenges - there is a great prize to be won from Happy Little Stampers. Check out the challenge blogs for more details.

Have a great day xx

Inkspirational Photo Challenge

Hi everyone! Happy Saturday. Today is a new challenge over at Inkspirational and this fortnight we have a photo to inspire you -

I liked the black and white elements of this photo plus the blackboard sort of look.

Here is my card -

Very simply done - an embossed image and sentiment then a doodled line and dots for the border using a uniball pen. Classic and one layer.

I hope you will find time to play along with our challenge. I can't wait to see you there :)

Thanks for popping in xx

Doodle Flowers are here!

Hi everyone! I'm stopping in to say hi as I am now officially back from my holiday. The cruise was wonderful. Thank you to all my teamies that helped out while I was away with the various challenge blogs I run. I would be lost without you.

Today was exciting because the newest stamp set from Happy Little Stampers arrived.

I couldn't wait to play even though I have a stack of housework to do.... oh well it isn't going anywhere lol.

Here is my card

Over at Less Is More, Happy Little Stampers is the monthly sponsor. I wanted to create a card for that challenge and let you know that if you play along all month, you have a chance to win a prize from HLS. The theme for this challenge is

CITRUS

Here is the new set that I used -

I used a strip of post-it note to mask off the center of my card. I also created a mask for the flower. I stamped my first lot of flowers then used the mask to stamp a few more. I also added the leaves while the mask was on.

I coloured everything using gel pens.

The sentiment is from the HLS Thinking of You set.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges -

My Time To Craft - One Layer
613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes with Glitter (my gel pen is glittery)

Thanks for popping in :)

Linked Friends

Hi there! Trying to escape the heat today. The cool change that was promised hasn't arrived so we just have to suffer at the moment :(

I was feeling in the crafty mood so I decided to have a play - just for the fun of it :)

This is a one layer card. I decided that linking up the elephants from the HLS Whimsical Friends set would be fun to do. I coloured them using Spectrum Noir markers (IG7, IG5, IG3, IG2) and then used some really inexpensive gel pens (from Aldi) to colour the blankets and toenails. They have a wonderful sparkle to them.

I was going to cover them in glossy accents but I am WAY too impatient for that!

Here is the set that I have used -

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges -

The ABC challenge - A is for Animals
613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes
Spectrum Noir - Anything Goes

Starting February 1st

Edited to add to the One Layer Simplicity Challenge - thank you Ardyth!

Thanks for popping by and stay cool!

HLS - February CASE the Designer Challenge

Hi everyone! The Happy Little Stampers February CASE challenge is now live.

This month we are CASEing

Shona is a brand new teamie over at HLS. Welcome to the team!!!

Here is my CASE

I really loved Shona's use of masking to create her card. The colours were also very cool.

I masked off the circle and used the Mix Mash set to create my background. I decided to use sentiments within the circle.

Once I had finished my stamping, I used the die that I used to create my mask to outline my circle with a black pen.

One layer and very dramatic!

If you play along at Happy Little Stampers throughout the month, you have a chance to win a prize from the shop!

Can't wait to see what you come up with!

I would like to enter my card into the following challenge -

Mod Squad Challenges - Masculine Birthday

Thanks for stopping by :)

Mix Mash Birthday

My second post for today!

I have another card to share that was inspired by the challenge at Less Is More. I did a part CASE of Valentyna's card using the Mix Mash set from Happy Little Stampers.

This is a one layer card. I've done a couple of those lately - don't know what got into me ;)

I randomly stamped the circles (after checking out Valentyna's design) using grey and pink ink. The sentiment is from the same set. The number is from the Big Bold Numbers set.

I would like to also enter these fabulous challenges

Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes (no topping for me)

Thanks for popping by :)

ATCAS Challenge #25

Hello everyone! And we are back to Saturday!!

Time has flown for me this week as I have been helping out a local business on the island while the owners are away on a cruise - lucky ducks!!

I haven't had much time for craft, which I am not happy about, lol. I've received some new goodies from the Ellen Hutson shop over in the US and have been going a bit crazy with my Stampin' Up orders too. Now that the weekend is here, hopefully I can get everything sorted out and ready for a play.

Right, onto this fortnight's challenge over at Addicted to CAS.

I am the hostess this week and here is the code word I chose -

One Layer - pretty self explanatory. No other layers, just your card base.

We are sponsored by

for this challenge and you have the chance to win 5 images of your choice from their store!!

I have used a sponsor image for my card. It is called Summer Block.

I chose this image as the weather is so hot here right now (It's cooler in the more southern areas of Australia). The beach, sun and ice-cream cone are just perfect for me right now.

I printed the image directly onto my cardstock and coloured everything in with my Spectrum Noirs. I didn't really bother with blending or anything. I thought that the colours would be nice and bright just colouring in. Who doesn't just love colouring in?

In the end, this card was very easy and quick to make.

I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with for this challenge!

I would also just like to ask you all to save a thought or prayer for the people who have been affected by the devasting Bush Fires in NSW right now. Lives, homes and livestock have been lost. Also, a shout out to those many, many fire fighters who are risking their lives to save others. Many of those fire fighters are volunteers and having been a volunteer in a Rural Fire Brigade myself, I wish them all the best and to keep safe.

A man who was flying a helicopter and dropping water on the fires has lost his life while doing so. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

Thanks so much for looking xx
