HLS June Watercolour Challenge

Hi everyone, we have a new watercolour challenge happening over at Happy Little Stampers!

Here is my card -

I smooshed yellow, orange, and rose red brushos onto my panel. I also watered down some gold mica powder and smooshed that in as well. I had a small piece leftover so I stamped a butterfly and die cut it to pop it up on the card.

Once my panel was dry, I used my MISTI to stamp my sentiment. I added my sequins using glossy accents to adhere them. While I had the glossy accents out, I smothered the butterfly to make it all shiny :)

Our winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon to spend at the shop! Check out all the details HERE.

IF YOU USE STAMPS BY HAPPY LITTLE STAMPERS AND YOU ARE OUR RANDOM WINNER, YOUR PRIZE WILL BE DOUBLED!

Inkspirational #160

Hi there everyone. It's time for a brand new challenge over at Inkspirational

We have a beautiful colour challenge this fortnight - we would like you to use purple and gold!

Here is my card -

I embossed my butterflies with gold powder and die cut them out. I used Zig Makers to watercolour them. I have layered them over each other and popped up a couple using foam tape.

I also embossed my sentiment. A last minute decision was to add some Aged Wine Embossing Enamel but I'm not sure it was really the right thing to do but after adding the few sequins, I quite like the effect.

This card is going to my Mum for Mother's Day :)

Supplies Used:

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges -

Eclectic Ellapu - Mother's Day

Thanks for popping in and I would love to see you over at the challenge blog.

Guest Designing for Less Is More!

Hi there again! This is my second post for today as I am Guest Designing over at Less Is More this week! Thanks to the girls for having me. Happy Little Stampers is also sponsoring for the month of September so make sure you link up each week for the chance to win a coupon to spend at the shop :)

I had to play with my Brusho Watercolours for this one and I made two cards :)

Card #1

This was created by smooshing Brusho (Prussian Blue and Lime Green) onto glossy cardstock. With a little leftover ink, I did the same on a spare bit of paper and stamped and die cut my butterfly. I used my MISTI to stamp my sentiment as you have to be very careful with glossy cardstock that you don't slip everywhere! (The butterfly and sentiment are from the HLS Butterfly Birthday and I used the coordinating dies).

Card #2

I hope you can see the texture on this one... I created another smooshed panel using watercolour paper. I die cut the sentiment out of the middle and then die cut it again using black glitter foam. I inlaid the die cut which is self adhesive.

I then slathered on some Glass Bead Texture Gel. It looks so pretty in real life!

These colours are so beautiful together! I hope you will play along with us! See you there.

HLS August Watercolour Challenge

Hi everyone! Time for a new challenge over at Happy Little Stampers. The 1st of the month sees our Watercolour Challenge kick off. It is always Anything Goes but we offer an optional theme for you to play along with.

Today I am sharing with you something I have never made before - a mini book. I cut all my pieces out of watercolour paper using the Sizzix Passport Die.

The die allows you to cut your covers, inside pages, and spine to bind it all together.
I used the smooshing technique using Crimson, Orange, and Lemon Brusho colours.

I decided I wanted to create a book just for butterflies.

I used a number of HLS stamps and a couple of stencils with texture paste. I also hand wrote some butterfly quotes.

Once I had all my pages ready and dry, it was time to bind it all together. I used Baker's Twine and added a little butterfly charm.

Here is what the die looks like (it is an XL Bigz Die)

I added a couple of little blooms using a stencil and ink but my main focus was the butterflies.

I hope you will join us over at the challenge blog! Here is a recap of the stamps I used from HLS

HLS March CAS Challenge

Hi there everyone. Just a very quick post from me today. Time is not my friend at the moment. I never seem to have enough hours in the day. I even made the card for the new HLS CAS Challenge at the very last minute. Well, only 8 hours prior to the challenge going live but that in itself was a challenge because it was night and getting a photo really sucks!

Anywho - our theme for our CAS challenge this month is

Get those die cuts cut and create something CLEAN AND SIMPLE!

Here is my card -

Terrible photo, I know! Very sorry....

I decided to do an inlaid die technique. Once I die cut the pieces out of my panel, I used my MISTI to stamp onto the butterfly die cut. The sentiment was die cut from a piece of glitter foam which had adhesive on the back (so convenient!).

This was very easy to create!

Brushos and Masking Fluid with Video Tutorial

Hello! I was finally able to edit and upload my video tutorial for creating a card with Brusho powders and masking fluid.  I had terrible issues with my editor, sorry. It isn't perfect.... but you will definitely get the idea.

Today I would like to share not only my video tutorial but another card I made using this technique -

You will get a better idea about how I created my mask by watching my video tutorial but I basically cut the butterfly from the HLS Butterfly Dies using post-it tape and then used masking fluid to create a larger area of the mask. Once both masks were removed, I added the brusho colours using a brush.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges -

Crafty Cardmakers - Birthdays

and over at Addicted to CAS, Happy Little Stampers is sponsoring their Watercolour challenge!

HLS Spotlight - Butterfly Birthday

Hi everyone. The last couple of days have found me thinking I would like to spotlight some of the stamp sets from Happy Little Stampers. My first choice, of course, was the very first set designed called Butterfly Birthday and the coordinating dies.

Here are my cards

My first card was completely inspired by the very talented Ingrid who designs for Happy Little Stampers. Ingrid is also on the HLS Video Crew and created an amazing 2 part tutorial. I changed up the design a little but the techniques that Ingrid used are definitely there. Check out Part 1 HERE and Part 2 HERE.

Here is my next card using the same technique as the first. I've added a strip of vellum which I have stamped the sentiment on.

613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes (no twist for me)
Stamps & Fun - Birthday

My 3rd card was very simple to make. Using some patterned paper I bought with a kit while on a cruise in Hawaii, I die cut my butterfly as an aperture to show the pretty rainbow of colours.

Addicted to Pink and Grey

I really do love this colour combo. I'm not sure why I don't use it more often!

I created another card last night. When the mojo is hot, it's hot! Make the most of it, I say :)

Here is my card -

I created my background using Worn Lipstick Distress Ink. I put some ink on to my craft mat, misted it with water and picked up the ink with Mixed Media Paper. I did the same with a smaller piece that I embossed my butterfly onto and die cut it out.

I flicked some acrylic paint (white and grey) on to my larger panel.

I also used a white gel pen to add some extra interest to my butterfly.

The sentiment was stamped with grey ink.

Here are the HLS products I used for my card

The challenges I would like to enter are

Die Cuts / Punches
