HLS September Watercolour Challenge

Hi everyone! Woah, September already?? It's a big month for me - Father's Day on the 2nd and my dad's 60th birthday on the 11th. I am also starting to plan my grandson's 1st birthday party which is in November - can you believe he is nearly 1????

Over at Happy Little Stampers we kick off a new month with our Watercolour Challenge.

Anything Goes but you may like to play along with our twist and use a butterfly or two or three...

Here are my cards (yes I made two lol) -

For my first card I placed a stencil on watercolour card, sprinkled turquoise brusho, misted with water, then lifted the stencil. I used my heat gun to speed up the drying process.

I stamped and die cut my butterfly from some left over card that I flipped the stencil over and pressed the ink on to it.

I rounded off the edges of this card for a bit of interest.

My second card was created in the same manner but I used orange and yellow brushos.

Here is a video tutorial that I created a while back to show you how to use your watercolours with stencils.

I hope to see you over at the challenge blog!

Turquoise Thanks

Hey everyone. I'm here today just for fun :) I have been trying to get ahead with my DT stuff and made a number of cards. The one I am sharing with you today is just something that I made because I could lol.

I created this using a combination of Brusho watercolour and Zig Watercolour pens.

I started by sprinking Turquoise Brusho crystals onto my craft mat, spritzing them with water and smooshing my card. I also added a bit of turquoise mica powder to the mix. I dried my panel in between smooshes.

I used my MISTI to stamp all of my images and embossed them with white powder.

I coloured my arrangement with my Zigs (Light Blue, Turquoise Green, Cobalt Blue, and May Green). Once dry, I fussy cut them out and adhered them to my panel. I finished them off with an overlay of glitter.

HLS June Watercolour Challenge

Hi everyone, we have a new watercolour challenge happening over at Happy Little Stampers!

Here is my card -

I smooshed yellow, orange, and rose red brushos onto my panel. I also watered down some gold mica powder and smooshed that in as well. I had a small piece leftover so I stamped a butterfly and die cut it to pop it up on the card.

Once my panel was dry, I used my MISTI to stamp my sentiment. I added my sequins using glossy accents to adhere them. While I had the glossy accents out, I smothered the butterfly to make it all shiny :)

Our winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon to spend at the shop! Check out all the details HERE.

IF YOU USE STAMPS BY HAPPY LITTLE STAMPERS AND YOU ARE OUR RANDOM WINNER, YOUR PRIZE WILL BE DOUBLED!

World Bee Day

Hi there everyone! Today I am honoured to be part of a blog hop that has been organised by the very talented Milka Gubo. The aim of the hop is to support bees and to raise public awareness of the importance of bees and apiculutral products.

You should have come to me from the lovely Kathy Curry's blog but if you have missed someone along the way, please find the complete list further down my post.

Last December the UN officially declared that the 20th of May is officially "World Bee Day". If you are interested you can see the press release HERE.

I had to improvise for my card as I don't even have anything related to bees in my stash! I will have to fix that :)

I created a honeycomb effect using a die which I placed over a Brusho background. I used yellow and orange brushos, smooshing them and drying in between smooshes.

I created my sentiment by die cutting the letters and then masking a Happy Birthday sentiment so only the Happy was inked up.

Happy Little Stampers is sponsoring this event as are MANY other sponsors. If you would like the chance to win a prize, you need to hop along with all the amazing sponsors/designers.

Kylie Purtell (you are here)

Here are all the amazing sponsors participating in the hop (all the prize details can be found at Milka's blog)

Milka is also giving away Jane’s Doodles ‘Garden Friends’ stamp set to two lucky winners.

17 prizes will be given away to 17 winners.

For your chance to win, hop along blogs of the participating designers and leave comment on each blog hop stop. After commenting, return back to Milka’s blog and add your name to Inlinkz, but prior you do, please read Blog Hop details, terms, giveaway rules and privacy policy which are shared in Milka's blog post below Inlinkz.

Inlinkz closes tomorrow, May 21st 2018, 11:00 PM CEST. Winners’ names will be announced on Milka’s blog next day.

Have fun hopping along!

Here is my card -

I decided to use the blue colour for my background after embossing my dandelions (from the new release set Dandelion Wishes). I smooshed Turquoise Brusho onto my panel, drying in between smooshing.

I die cut my sentiment out of sliver glitter paper. A few blue sequins finished it off.

Happy Little Stampers is the sponsor this month!

HLS March Watercolour Challenge

Hi there! Time for a new monthly challenge over at Happy Little Stampers! We kick off March with our Watercolour challenge.

Here is my card -

I have used the new Perfectly Succulent stamps set from HLS. I know that I have received many plants when moving into a new home so I wanted to create this card using one of the cactus plants.

I used brusho smooshing for my background panel. I embossed the sentiment. I also embossed the image and watercoloured it with my zigs. I fussy cut it out and popped it up with a little foam tape.

Here is my card -

My background was created by applying Brusho with a brush to get an Ombre look. I also added a little gold mica powder.

I die cut my little hearts from my strip of black card, embossed the sentiment and attached the Happy die cut (this was cut about 3 times and glued together).

I went with our optional theme of hearts but created a Birthday card instead of something for Valentine's.

We have a brand new challenge over at Inkspirational. I hope you will play along.

I've made two cards using our inspirational photo.

Guest Designing for AAA Cards

Hi there! I hope you are well and creating lot's of goodies at the moment.

I am thrilled to be a Guest Designer at AAA Cards for their latest challenge.

Here is my card -

This was an easy card to create. I embossed my circles then smooshed different brusho colours onto my panel. I also embossed my little words and popped them up with foam.

I really tried to recreate the graphic provided for this challenge. For the quote, I wanted to inspire everyone with some words related to travel. It's always great to see new places - even it is just down the road and you haven't taken the time to see something new :)

HLS December ATC Challenge

Time for another ATC challenge over at Happy Little Stampers!

We are making Christmas themed ATCs this month and I had a blast creating mine!

Once again, I have made a fun set of ATCs!

I started with an A4 size piece of watercolour paper and smooshed it into Brusho.

I die cut my HLS Christmas Trees and covered them with Embossing Enamel AND green embossing powder. I used Faux Snow on some of the ATCs and a number of HLS stamp sets for the greetings. I even used the embossing enamel as a frame! So much fun!

Here are the products I used that you can purchase from Happy Little Stampers -
