AAA Cards Guest Designer

Hello! I hope you are well and getting lots of crafty time.

Today I am excited to be a part of the new challenge at AAA Cards. Happy Little Stampers is sponsoring and Jane has asked me to be a Guest Designer. Thanks Jane!

Here is the theme for their challenge -

Now with this one, you also have the option to create a shaped card - It could be long and thin, a rounded square, circular, heart shaped, or any other shape you can imagine. Just make sure to keep it LOVE themed and CAS.

Here is my card -

I created my right hand side panel by smooshing scarlet brushos onto a piece of watercolour paper. Once it was dry, I smooshed some perfect pearls to give it that brilliant gold highlight.

Here is another photo without so much sunlight hitting the card -

I die cut the white left hand panel with a border die and did the same with a piece of black cardstock. I wanted just a sliver of black popping out from the edge.

I glued everything together and used some craft foam behind the whole left hand panel (I finally got some Sarah P!). This gives the panel a lot more stability than using strips of foam tape.

I stamped the sentiment and hearts from the HLS Rainy Days set. I coloured the hearts in and covered them with some wink of stella.

Well, I hope to see you over at AAA Cards for their first challenge in February. It will be a great chance to get those lovey dovey cards done for Valentine's.

Thanks for popping in xx

HLS February Watercolour Challenge

Hi everyone! I hope you have been enjoying the new challenges at Happy Little Stampers so far. Did you find time to play along in our new Watercolour Challenge? Here is our new theme for February -

Always Anything Goes with our Watercolour Challenge. This month you have an optional twist to use Dies.

Here is my card -

I made this card with my Mum in mind. She celebrated her birthday at the end of January - Happy Birthday Mum!!

I started by pouncing my versamark ink pad through a stencil onto watercolour paper. I embossed it with white powder. I sprinkled Ultra Marine and Ost. Blue Brushos onto my craft mat and smooshed the panel through the ink. I then mixed some gold perfect pearls with some water and smooshed that onto my panel too.

I die cut my 'Happy' sentiment a number of times and glued them together. I used a border die for my side panels. The stamped the 'Birthday' in archival ink. It is from the HLS Everyday Sentiments set.

I added a few sequins for extra bling.

We also have a very talented guest designer this month. Ingrid has joined us to help with the inspiration!

See you over at Happy Little Stampers!

We would like you to use a stencil on your CAS projects.

Here is my card -

I created a background using brushos and a stencil. I stamped my bus from the HLS Wish you were Here set and fussy cut it out. I created a road with black card and a white pen.

I hope to see you over at the challenge blog!

HLS January Watercolour Challenge

Hello! Happy New Year!!!! I hope you have had a wonderful Christmas and are now ready to kick off 2017 :)

Today is the start of the brand new challenge over at Happy Little Stampers! It is our watercolour challenge. We are very excited about this one. It has been months in the making and we also have new designers joining our team. You can see all the details over at the HLS blog.

Our theme for January is

Anything Goes! That's right - just make sure you use watercolouring or a watercolouring technique on your entry. You also have the option to use a stencil.

I have made two cards both with our optional twist.

My first card was created by using the Brusho and Stencil technique and watercolour paper. I LOVE doing this.

The stamps I have used are from the HLS Wish you were Here set.

Once I had finished, I mixed Gold Perfect Pearls with some water and used a brush to create some splats.

My next card uses the stencil flipped over and pressed onto normal cardstock. It gives your background a more subtle look but still so pretty.

I die cut my sentiment using gold card. There are a few little touches of Perfect Pearls on this one too.

Here is my video tutorial on how to create these types of backgrounds. I made about 10 while doing these cards and save them for later.

There are also a LOT of video tutorials over at HLS if you need some help with ideas.

I hope to see you playing along.

We are also very lucky to have Barb as our Guest Designer for this month's challenge. Make sure you stop by and say hello to her as well!

Thanks for coming by and I will see you over at the challenge blog :)

HLS December CAS Challenge

Goodness me! December and time for another HLS Challenge. Where does the time go!

Did you know that I am already planning my next retreat in the UK? If you are thinking you would like to join us in November 2017, please check out all the details HERE and register your interest. There will be TWO retreat locations in 2017! Manchester and Swindon. Plenty of ladies have already secured their spots so make sure you don't miss out!

Onto our CAS challenge -

Over the last 11 months we have had wonderful techniques and product challenges (with heaps of video tutorials to help you along)! For our December challenge we want you to choose one of our past challenges for your entry.

I went with Stencil Monoprint. At the HLS Craft Retreat last July, we had fun with Brushos and Darnell had a LOT of fun with stencils. When I got home I tried a heap of stencil techniques. In my video tutorial below, you will see how I use a stencil to begin with and then flip it over to create my stencil monoprint. It's heaps of fun!!

Firstly, here is my card

And here is my video tutoria -

There are HEAPS of video tutorials listed over at the HLS Blog. All 11 months worth of them!

Thanks so much for popping in today.

Giving Thanks Blog Hop

Hi there everyone!

I am very proud to be joining in a very special blog hop - My cards today are for a special blog hop we're having over at STAMPlorations. The STAMPlorations girls and friends have come together for the Giving Thanks blog hop. We're sharing projects that express our gratitude. If you visit and leave comments on the stops in the hop by the 27th of November you could win your choice of (4x6) stamp set from STAMPlorations.

I am representing my challenge blog Addicted to Stamps and More

I was sent a fantastic goody bag from Shery so I could showcase her fabulous new release.

Here is the cool set I was sent to play with -

ohsograteful

CARD ONE

For the first card, I stamped the image in jet black archival ink. I let it dry completely then coloured it in by sprinkling Brushos onto my craft mat, misting them with water and picking up the colour with a brush.

I made a 'smooshed' panel from my Orange brusho and used it to die cut my sentiment.

I also die cut the sentiment three times in black cardstock and glued them altogether to give it wonderful dimension.

Orange brusho splats with created by flicking my paintbrush finished off this card.

CARD TWO

I stamped the sentiment in different colours and die cut it three times.

I loved how this card turned out in its own simplicity.

CARD THREE

The stencil in this pack is awesome! I used my red glitter texture paste to create my panel.

I  'played' with the sentiments to basically create a Valentines Card.

I wasn't quite able to catch the sparkle of this card but believe me it is gorgeous!

CARD FOUR

I couldn't help but watercolour again with this image.

Once the image was dry, I die cut it and used foam squares to pop it up. I stamped the Sentiment in jet black and then used my paintbrush once again to create my splats.

I had so much fun playing with my STAMPloration goodies! Thank you to Shery for being such a wonderful sponsor for Addicted to Stamps and More! and Addicted to CAS (which is being represented by the amazing Barb Ghig!).

If you would like to join in the hop, you can find all the info and links for you to join in HERE

Brushos and Embossing

Hi there everyone. I have a card to share with you today that was inspired by one I received in the mail from the wonderfully talented Sarah (Sazzle Dazzle). It has been sitting proudly in my lounge room for weeks and weeks. I absolutely loved it - you can see her card HERE.

As well as CASEing Sarah's card, I decided to do a video tutorial as well. Unfortunately when I went to download the files from the card... well... they weren't there. Bugger. Will have to refilm it again tomorrow. So for the time being, I just have the card to share with you :)

Sarah created her brusho panel using yellow, red, and orange (I think) and the colours were amazing. I wanted to go wth a blue panel. I embossed the butterflies onto watercolour paper first. I also decided to emboss some circles for a bit of extra fun. I 'smooshed' my cardstock into three different colours of brushos (drying in between each smoosh) - Turquoise, Cobalt Blue, and Grey.

I die cut the word Smile 3 times in white cardstock and and glued them all together. The last diecut was in gold glitter paper and glued on last. This gave the sentiment amazing dimension. The sentiment was stamped onto a strip of card and then cut to size. The glitter dots finished it off.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges -

Cards and More #169 - Watercolour
Cardz for Galz #33 - Use at least one die
Die Cut Divas - Emboss

Here are the HLS Products I have used on this card -

Thanks again to Sarah for the inspiration!!

See you next time :)

Brushos and Masking Fluid with Video Tutorial

Hello! I was finally able to edit and upload my video tutorial for creating a card with Brusho powders and masking fluid.  I had terrible issues with my editor, sorry. It isn't perfect.... but you will definitely get the idea.

Today I would like to share not only my video tutorial but another card I made using this technique -

You will get a better idea about how I created my mask by watching my video tutorial but I basically cut the butterfly from the HLS Butterfly Dies using post-it tape and then used masking fluid to create a larger area of the mask. Once both masks were removed, I added the brusho colours using a brush.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges -

Crafty Cardmakers - Birthdays

and over at Addicted to CAS, Happy Little Stampers is sponsoring their Watercolour challenge!

Here is my tutorial -

These are the products I used -

Happy Little Stampers October CASE Challenge

Hi everyone! I hope you are well and had plenty of time to get your mojo working in your craft room.

Today is the start of a new month of challenges over at Happy Little Stampers! The 1st of the month kicks off our CASE challenge.

We are CASEing Birgit this month.

Here is Birgit's card -

I love Birgit's vintage look. My inspiration came from the colour of the bird, the die cut behind the bird, and the embossed sentiment.

Here is my card -

To create my background, I smooshed yellow and orange brushos together onto watercolour paper. The die cut is from Sizzix and a fabulous one! I was lucky enough to get this at the HLS Craft Retreat earlier this year. I embossed the sentiment from the HLS Thinking of You set with WOW embossing powder.

I would like to enter my card into these fabulous challenges -

Make My Monday - No patterned paper

I hope you will join us over at Happy Little Stampers for our challenge. Don't forget we have 5 monthly challenges for you and we also have a DT call right now!

Here is the HLS stamp set that I have used today

Thinking of You

Brushos and Masking Fluid

Hi everyone! I wanted to have a quick play last weekend because my time in the craft room is quite limited at the moment.

I have been helping out at a Post Office on a neighbouring island due to the owner having a hip replacement. I am also working more shifts at our local RSL club. No time for much else, waaah.

When I was in the UK for the Happy Little Stampers Craft Retreat, Carol showed us a few techniques on masking. I bought some drawing gum thanks to Carol and decided to break it out and give it a go with my brushos.

Here is my card -

I created a mask for the balloon (using a die cut and post-it tape) and masked around the edges and surrounding area with the masking fluid.

I have created a video tutorial for this technique but am having trouble with my video editor. Hopefully I will actually get it done and uploaded this century!

I sprinkled my brusho colours onto my craft mat, spritzed them with water and used a brush to apply the colours. I added splats by loading up my paintbrush with the same colours and flicking it onto the paper.

The sentiment is from the Happy Little Stampers Fun Birthday Sentiments set.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges -

Southern Ridge - Your Favourites (mine are definitely Brushos)

Craft for the Craic - photo inspiration

Powder Power

Thanks for popping in today. Have a great Wednesday!
