Less Is More #413

Hello! Time for another cool challenge that will run for 2 weeks over at Less Is More.
Our last challenge focused on the 'Less' and now we want you to focus on the 'More' but still keeping it all CAS.

How many small images/shapes/sentiments are you able to incorporate to your design but still keep your card CAS? For example tiny flowers, stars, snowflakes etc

Here is my card -
I stamped my first line of bears, masked them, then stamped the second line. I repeated this step for the third line.
I coloured them with polychromo pencils and gamsol. Lastly, I added the die cut party hats and happy birthday sign

In total I have 21 bears on my card which really kept with the theme of having 'MORE' but keeping it CAS ;)

Less Is More #412

Hi everyone! It's time for a new challenge over at Less is More! For this challenge we would like to see you use the tiniest and fewest images you can manage!

I made three cards using this theme -

Card #1
Created from the Waffle Flower set called Willy and Friends

Card #2
I used a combination of two sets here - the image is from a Mama Elephant set called Season's Greetings and the sentiment is from a set called Dashing Deer.

Card #3
I combined two sets by Whimsy Stamps for this card - Life is a Journey and Say What?

It is an exciting time for us because we are celebrating -

This time I cut out the triangle, used some patterned paper in the aperture and adhered it all back together to create a frame :)

Less Is More #407 - OLC Winter Flora

Happy Saturday. It's time for a new challenge over at LIM where we want you to create a ONE LAYER CARD with the theme of winter flora. Even though it's summer here in Australia at Christmas time, you can't go past good old Christmas cards using beautiful flora such as holly, mistletoe, and christmas trees (for example).

Here are my cards -

Card #1
For this card, I used a new stamp called Berry Kissed by Penny Black. I really like the watercolouring technique used with these stamps (incorporating the MISTI) but I haven't really mastered this technique. I decided to try no line colouring by stamping the image with Antique Linen ink then colouring with my polychromos. I went a little crazy with my white gel pen but the end result was okay :) The sentiment is an old one from the HLS Mixed Christmas Sentiments.

Card #2
This card was created using another HLS set called Merry Kissmas. I stamped the Mistletoe and sentiment at the same time using my MISTI. I coloured the image using some glitter pens. Easy!

Card #3
This stamp is from Sugar Plum Fairy by CAS-ual Fridays.  I am embossed the image straight onto my linen card, then coloured the star with a gold sharpie.

We have two guest designers for this challenge - Ankie (our August Winner) and our generous sponsor Bev (from Uniko).

I would like to enter my cards over at the following challenges -
Card #1 - Creative Sketchy Girls (Create a Christmas Card), Watercooler Wednesday Challenge (all about occasions),
Card #3 - Sweet Stampin' Christmas (Anything Goes + optional stars), Tuesday Throwdown (One Layer Wonder), CAS on Friday (Big Sentiment)

Thanks for popping in today and I hope to see you playing along at LIM :)

Less Is More #405 (Recipe)

Hi there! It's time for a new challenge over at Less Is More! We have a recipe to inspire you this fortnight.

Here are the elements you can choose from -
sparkle + gloss,
sparkle + matte,
sparkle + pearl,
sparkle + chalky

I decided to go with sparkle + matte.

I used a new technique to me to create my window. I sprinkled some embossing enamel into a laminating pouch then ran it through my laminator. I saw done by Jennifer McGuire.
I created my sparkle by using embossing enamel with gold sprinkles through it. I also covered my cardinal with a touch of sparkle.

The matte element was created by using distress inks to create my background panel and the strip for the sentiment.

Our amazing Guest Designer is Maaike, welcome!!!

I would like to enter my card over at the following challenges
CAS on Friday (Animals), Cut It Up (Into the woods + dies), ABC Christmas Challenge (S is for sparkle and T is for texture), Cute 'n Crafty Christmas (Anything Christmas/Winter Goes)

Thanks for popping in today. Take care! xx

Less Is More #404 - Typography

Happy Saturday! It's time for a new challenge over at Less Is More and for this fortnight we are after clean and simple cards using Typography.

I have created a card using our sponsor's stamp set called Shining Bright.

I started off by stamping my light bulb once on my card panel and once again on a piece of masking paper. I cut out the inside of the light bulb that I had stamped on my masking paper then laid it over my card panel. From here I was able to stamp my words within the light bulb creating a cool typography.

I googled typography to get some ideas and the ones that appealed to me were ones that had the text within different shapes - like the ones below:

Image result for typography within shapes   type #typography #lettering #hand lettering #type #calligraphy
