Congrats on your new home

I have a card to share with you today using new stamps (Stampin' Up - In the City).
I did a google search for some ideas and while a lot of cards were stamped this way, I got my inspiration mainly from this card.
The card was made for a good friend and workmate who is moving into a new home in the next couple of weeks.

The sentiment is from an old set that I have by Paper Smooches.

I would like to enter my card over at the following challenges -
My Time to Craft (New Stash), The Paper Funday (Anything Goes + Friendship), Moving along with the Times (All things New), Tuesday Throwdown (Something New), Dream Valley Challenges (Something New)

Thanks for popping in today :)

Hi again! Time for a new challenge over at Inkspirational!

Our word prompt for this challenge is 'Work'.

I had to think hard about this one but decided to go with a simple one layer congratulations card. I thought this would be good for someone who had a new job, had received a promotion, or even perhaps retiring.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges -

The Sisterhood of Crafters - Clean and Simple

I hope to see you over at the challenge blog with your work inspired cards.

ATCAS Challenge #24

Hi there everyone! Happy Saturday.

We have a brand new challenge over at Addicted to CAS starting right NOW.

Christine is your hostess this week and she has chosen a doozy of a code word for us!

When I started thinking of what I would like to do, I was thinking to use either vellum or a transparency sheet. I actually did make a card using vellum but didn't really like it in the end. I decided to have a go at making something with the transparency instead.

Here is my DT card -

Once I had decided that I wanted to create a pair of glasses, this started a bit of a conundrum for me as I have no dies or stamps that have glasses. So, what do you do in this case? Make your own!

I drew my frames and cut them out so I could have a template. I wanted to cut at least 3 pairs to make them a bit thicker. Once I had glued them all together, I covered them with versamark and embossed them with Cherry Cobbler powder.  I added the transparency behind them and a few jewels for bling.

THEN, when I had made my cool red glasses, I had no idea what to do with them. I didn't have any punny stamps or anything! All I could think of was to use 'Congratulations' for being a smarty pants... I don't know if it works but there it is. I actually used some DSP from my Festival of Prints stack which is really for Christmas but the tartan print reminded me of a school uniform.

The reflection you see in the 'glass' are the palm trees outside my window, lol.

We have a wonderful sponsor for you this challenge -

Our CAS Perfectionist will be awarded a $20 gift voucher to the store!

I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with, but first, you really should check out the amazing inspiration from the other DT members. They are incredible!!

Keep it Simple #6

Keep it Simple - my motto in life lol
I haven't had a chance to join in the fun over at Keep it Simple for a while now.
Embossing is one of my all time favourite techniques. Once I discovered the Big Shot, I was in heaven and really don't know what I would do without it.
I have used an embossing folder today that I have never used before. This is because it is soooo big and I've never really know what to do with it. From memory it is called Fancy Brocade... whoops.

It certainly is a beautiful folder. I have stamped the sentiment in Concord Crush. It comes from my Sassy Salutations set. I have also used my Beautiful Wings embosslit folder.

I have popped the embossed panel up on foam pads.

Thanks for looking xx

For my neice

I received a phone call from my 8 year old neice. She and her team had just won their first ever Cheerleading Competition. How cute is that!!

My neice is struggling a bit at school so it just warmed my heart to hear her excitement. I decided I wanted to send her a card to congratulate her. While I'm at it, I decided to enter into the

Because of the colour of their uniform, I mainly used the yellow and blues from the Colour inspiration provided. This gorgeous cheerleader is a digital stamp from Tiddly Inks. I love the glittered pom poms lol.

I hope she likes it :)
