HLS December Sketch Challenge

Hello! Welcome to December, woo hooo. It's starting to look a lot like Christmas!

Over at Happy Little Stampers there is a brand new sketch challenge for you.

Here it is

Lot's of scope here to play with this sketch. I decided to make a birthday card for this one ;)

My little hippo from the HLS Birthday Friends set was stamped onto a leftover panel that I had created using Brushos, Starch and Cling Wrap. I love making these backgrounds in advance to be used whenever I need them. You can check out my video tutorial HERE.

I have used the new HLS Enamel Glitter Dots (Pink) to finish off the card. Nice and easy to make :)

The bakers twine is also from Happy Little Stampers and is appropriately called 'Christmas'.

HLS October Sketch Challenge

What? Where did September go? Seriously, I cannot believe it is October.

Seeing it is the beginning of a new month there is a new sketch challenge for you to play with over at Happy Little Stampers.

If you play along you will have a chance to win this stamp set from Happy Little Stampers!

Here is my DT card

I always seem to stump myself even though I design the sketches lol. But, I never let that defeat me.

To create this card, I die cut my 'grass', placed it on the card and drew an outline in pencil at the top of the slopes. I removed the die and had a guide to where I could put my houses.

I didn't have much in the way of stamps or dies so the next best thing was to draw some funky houses myself. I coloured them with my Wink of Stella pens. I had another photo that showed all the glitter but I seemed to have lost it :(

The sentiment is from the Happy Little Stampers Big Bold Birthday set.

We have a wonderful Guest Designer joining us for this challenge - Valentyna. She is an AMAZING card maker and we are honoured to have her with us.

I hope you will find the time to play along with us this month.

HLS September Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone. September? Phew! That came around quick.....

We have a brand new sketch for you at Happy Little Stampers and we hope you will play along!

There are so many ways to use this sketch and you should check out the blog if you are stumped for ideas as the Design Team have created amazing sketch cards!

Even though I created this sketch and thought it was really fun, I was stuck when it came time to actually making my card.

Instead of staring into space for hours or pulling out my hair, I decided to copy the sketch onto my card panel. I simply used a pencil, ruler and Black micron pen.

I coloured the areas that need to be with my Wink of Stella pens. Below is a close up and different angle to capture the glitter.

My sentiment is from the HLS Bold Birthday Sentiments set.

We have wonderful sponsors for this challenge -

Winner will receive a $5 discount code to the Happy Little Stampers store!

Random Draw with chance to win 5 digis

Pop on over to the blog and check out the rest of the designers. You wont be disappointed!!

I would like to enter my card into the challenge at

HLS August Sketch Challenge

Welcome to August and a brand new sketch at Happy Little Stampers!

What an exciting few days it has been for us at HLS. Our first release of stamps has been launched and the feedback and support from everyone has been amazing!! Thanks so much :)

Here is our sketch for this month

You will have lots of fun with this one! Don't forget any type of card making style is welcome at our sketch challenge. Just make sure we can see the sketch in your creation.

Here is my card using the brand new set - Bold Birthday Sentiments from Happy Little Stampers

Bold Birthday Sentiments

I drew the two lines with a pen and then just stamped the stars in repeated colours. I combined two stamps from this set to create my sentiment.

I went over the stars with a wink of stella pen to give it some sparkle.

My next card was one that I had originally made for this challenge but that was before my stamps had arrived. I would like to share it with you too.

This one was create using Lawn Fawn and Paper Smooches stamps.

I hope you will find the time to join in with our monthly challenges.

Thanks so much for looking xx

Hi everyone, back today to share with you my card made for the new Sketch Challenge at Happy Little Stampers.

This is an exciting month over at HLS as all our new designers are starting. You should see the creations that the new sketch team have come up with!

Here is the sketch

Here is my card -

I have used my markers directly onto my stamp which is from SU! Lovely as a Tree. I used the inlaid die technique here. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps. I thought this would make a great masculine card.

Happy Little Stampers - June Sketch Challenge

Hello! Phew, can you believe it is June? It's the first day of winter here in Australia. You are going to hate me but it is still bare feet weather where I live. Very cold in the southern areas, though.

The new sketch challenge for Happy Little Stampers is now live so I can't wait to see what you come up with :)

Here is the sketch

A fun, tropical scene for you to play with.

I copied the sketch basically to the letter. Here is my card

I have stamped and coloured images from Lawn Fawns Life is Good set and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

The sun is from Lil' Inkers and the sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps.

I hope you will find time to play along this month!

Thanks so much for looking xx

HLS May Sketch Challenge + DT call

Hello! It's the first of the month (pinch and a punch) and a brand new Sketch is ready for you to play along with over at Happy Little Stampers

We also have heaps of announcements over at the blog including a brand new challenge that is starting up in July and a DT call for ALL our monthly challenges. Pop on over to find out more.

Here are my DT cards (yep I made two)

My first card was created by masking off a section with painters tape and then sponged ink through a Tim Holtz stencil. I rotated the stencil when applying the second ink (black).  I like the masculine feel of this card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges

ABC Challenge - H is for Happy Birthday

My next card was a bit of a mistake really. I masked off a section again and used my Hero Arts dot stamps to recreate the sketch. I went to stamp my sentiment (a freebie when I ordered from Whimsy Stamps) and what did I do? I stamped it upside down!! Hahahahah!! I went to throw it in the bin and thought I could get away with it by 'pretending' I had 'meant' to flip the sketch upside down. Worked for me!! ;)

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges

Crafty Gals Corner - Polka Dots and/or Stripes

Our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is

and you could win 3 digis of your choice!

Ok! Now pop on over to Happy Little Stampers because there is heaps going on and you don't want to miss out.

Thanks so much for looking xx

HLS April Sketch Challenge

Wow, it is April already!! We have a brand new sketch challenge for you to play along with at Happy Little Stampers.

This is another scheduled post for me as I am still cruising around the South Pacific. Jealous?? Hehehe. I can't wait to share some photos!

Anyway, back to business.

Here is the sketch for you to take inspiration from

and here is my card

For this card, I cut a piece of watercolour paper to size and just used Stampin' Write markers to scribble my colour onto the paper. With a wet brush, I blended them together to create a rainbow effect.

Once it was dry, I die cut the word Happy out of the panel. I actually used that die cut on this card HERE.

I die cut the word a number of times out of white cardstock and glued them all into place on my card to create dimension.

I hope you will join us over at the challenge blog and don't forget that if you also link your card up at the forum, you will go into a draw for a mystery prize.

Thanks so much for looking xx

New Sketch at Happy Little Stampers

Happy New Year everyone! Welcome to 2015. We are in for a big year over at Happy Little Stampers and we have a new sketch for you to kick things off.

Check it out!

Here is my card -

Check out that stamp! Can you guess who may have sent this to me?

If you guessed Sandie from London Days, you would be correct! This was part of a Christmas present that was sent to me and I was so excited when I opened it. I absolutely loved London when I was there last year. I can't believe how much time has passed already. The perfect Christmas present from my London bestie. Also in my parcel was a fridge magnet that says

This was from Callum, lol lol. Yes, I am naughty and I smoke. Callum 'indulged' a few times over a few cocktails each night.

I couldn't wait to ink up my stamp. I have made a card here but I have decided that I am going to frame this. I bet I could make a number of these in different colours and frame them up. It will look cool.

I masked off the words so I could ink up the stamp in different colours.

I hope you will play along in our Sketch Challenge this month. We also have a new CAS Challenge starting on the 3rd of January so pop on over to the blog so you don't miss it.

If you link up at the blog AND the forum, you will go into the random draw for a mystery prize at the end of each month! Don't miss out!

Thanks so much for looking xx

HLS December Sketch Challenge

Hello! We are up to our next sketch challenge over at Happy Little Stampers. Wow, it is December.... hopefully this sketch will help you with the last minute cards you need to make.

Our sponsor is

and there will be a $5 gift certificate to her store!

Here is my card -

I received some really cool stencils from Loll and I put them straight to work.  You will also see inspiration from Loll over at the HLS blog. She has been working really hard with some new ideas for the forum and we are both really excited about what's coming up. Stay tuned!

I have used Versamark Ink over the stencil and then embossed with black powder. Then I used Distress Inks and sponged my sky. A silver pen was used to create the snow.

I'm not sure if you can tell but I stamped the sentiment in Versamark and then over the top again with black ink. It gives it a really cool shadow effect.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges -

Time Out - Embossing
Inkspirational - Christmas optional twist no red or green
Completely Christmas - AG with twist of something beginning with 'S" (Stencil, Santa, Snow, Sponging)

Thanks so much for looking xx
