Inkspirational #194 - Photo

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge over at Inkspirational! We have a photo to help inspire you.

I really tried to capture the funky colours within the letter 'r'. I stamped randomly (using dots, chevrons, etc) with neon ink onto paper then die cut my sentiment using alphabet dies. I used foam tape to pop them up.

My photo is a little wonky, sorry.

After the letters were cut, I used a black pen to go around the edges to help give them definition.

I hope you will play along over at Inkspirational!

I would like to enter my card over at the following challenges -
Moo-Mania (Letters and/or Numbers), Simon Says Wednesday (CAS), Sisterhood of Crafters (use dies as the focus), Tinker Dream (Sentiment)

Thanks for popping in today :)

Inkspirational #193 - Travel

Hey there everyone! It's time for a new challenge over at Inkspirational where our theme is TRAVEL.
I used my London skyline (HLS - Wish you were Here) and paired with a sentiment from Whimsy stamps. I have been lucky enough to travel to the UK three times over the last few years. I really love London, especially the theatre. Sandie and Val look after me so well when I visit and I hope to visit more!

This card seriously only took a few minutes to put together - easy!

I would like to enter my card over at the following challenges -
Try it on Tuesday (Wish you were Here), AAA Cards (Made in Minutes), Unicorn Challenge (Fully loaded or CAS)

Thanks for popping in :)

Inkspirational #192 - Fold

Hey there everyone! It's time for a new challenge over at Inkspirational. We have a word prompt for you - Fold

I ummmed and arrrrred about this one. I didn't really have any stamps that would even let me think outside the box. So, I went right out of my comfort zone as a one fold gal to following a couple of tutorials to create a card with more than one fold!

I used my new MFT set to create a Christmas card. I love this Santa. The sentiment is from HLS.

Then it folds down quite nicely to fit into an envelope.

Perhaps I have inspired you to make something not in your comfort zone :) See you over at Inkspirational!

Inkspirational Challenge #189 - Garden

Hi everyone. It's time for another challenge over at Inkspirational. I hope you will play along.

To be honest, I struggled with this challenge. I tried a number of cards trying to reflect garden. In my garden, we have a variety of native plants and lot's of flowers. We also have quite a lot of wildlife - kookaburras, wallabies, etc. I also own 2 Indian Running ducks that roam around the yard. We even have snakes at times... So, I was going to create an Australian themed garden card but nothing worked :(
I went with a good old flower. Even though it's winter in Australia, where I live the temperature doesn't get too cool so everything flowers all year around.

Here is my card -

I embossed the flower and leaves (from CAS-usal Fridays) and coloured them with my Zig watercolour markers. I also embossed the sentiment and die cut it with a banner die. I popped everything up with foam tape. The background is a cover die which is really pretty.

Inkspirational #182

Hey there! It's time for a new challenge over at Inkspirational. For the next fortnight we have a photo to inspire you and hope you will play along.

Here is my card -
I tried to mimic the teal colour in the photo by mixing blue and green brusho powders together over glossy card. It looked really good - and then it dried! It was more of a green colour.

I also mixed in some gold perfect pearls to give it that gold accent like some of the items in the photo.

I decided to go with the large sentiment covering the card like the words you can see on the shelf and in the mirror.

Check out the challenge blog for more inspiration by my fellow designers. Thanks for popping in :)

Inkspirational #181 - Use your Stash

Hey everyone! It's now time for a brand new challenge over at Inkspirational where our teamie, Carol, has decided on a fun theme for us. Use your stash!
I am lucky enough to have some new stash which has been begging to be used. Due to time contraints with working at the moment, I haven't had time to really play :( So, this challenge was the perfect excuse :)

This is a new to me 'two part' stamp set by Stampin' Up which is retired. I picked it up on ebay. The best thing is that you don't have to use the second overlay stamp to create your colour. You can just use markers or watercolours if you like. I stamped the scene behind straight onto my card panel then stamped a few more buildings and fussy cut them out to pop them up with foam tape.

Inkspirational Photo Challenge

Time for a new challenge over at Inkspirational! We have an awesome photo to inspire you today.

Here is my card -

I created my background by smooshing grey brusho onto watercolour paper (drying between smooshes).

I embossed my flowers onto watercolour paper and coloured them with my Zigs. Once dry, I threw on little clear wink of stella and fussy cut them out. The sentiment has also been heat embossed.

The couch/sofa in the photo inspired me to give texture to the background. The watercoloured flowers are obvious :)

The stamp set is from Happy Little Stampers - Especially for You

I hope to see you play along with this fortnight's challenge. Don't forget to pop on over to my team mates to see their ideas!

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp - Emboss It
The Crazy Challenge - Use Flowers
Moving Along with the Times - Embossing (wet and/or dry)

Thanks for popping by xx

Guest Designer for Inkspirational's 100th Challenge!

What a milestone! Congratulations to Inkspirational! I am very honoured to be a Guest Desinger for the awesome team. Not only that but I am sponsoring this challenge too!

Their challenge 'Blast from the Past' is a colour challenge and you need to choose one of their previous colour challenges.

It wont take much to guess which colours I chose. NEON!

Paired with the HLS Mix Mash stamp set is a match made in heaven! Having a black base really helps those neon colours to pop!

Don't forget if you play along you have the chance to win a gift certificate from the shop!

See you over at Inkspirational!

Guest Designer for Inkspirational!

Happy Saturday everyone!

Today I have the honour of being the Guest Designer over at Inkspirational. There is a photo for us to work with for this challenge.

There were so many ideas I had for this photo. Originally I was going to start with using some newsprint DSP to symbolise the book but in the end I concentrated on the gorgeous flowers and how their stems looked like vines.

Here is my card

The little flowers were created by using the smallest die in the SU Flower Framelits set. I used my stylus to shape them and added pearls. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

This card is going to a lady who has just had surgery and the photo reminded me of her probably being home now and reading a good book while she recovers.

See you over at Inkspirational!

Thanks so much for looking xx
