HLS Spotlight - Mix Mash

Hi everyone! A quick post for me today. On the 20th of each month, we are spotlighting one stamp set from Happy Little Stampers.

This month we are showcasing Mix Mash (see the post over at HLS here)

I made a very simple Christmas Card -

I drew a line using a pencil and ruler as guide for my circles. Once they were stamped I went over the pencil line with a gold pen. I coloured the circles with glitter wink of stella pens. I combined the Mix Mash set with the Christmas Joy set - the star and sentiment. Easy!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges -

The Holly and Ivy Challenge - Anything Goes
613 Avenue Create - using optional twist of CAS

Thanks for popping in and see you next time! xx

Guest Designing at AAA Cards

Hi everyone! We are celebrating Christmas in July around Australia and I'm sure in many other parts of the world. Lot's of Aussies dream of a White Christmas due to it being so hot here in December. We still put on a spread for lunch though - hot and cold. It makes the kitchen not the place you want to be!

I am Guest Designing over at AAA Cards for their new challenge - Christmas in July

Here is my card -

I created a template so I could stamp my circles to create my tree.

I coloured them in with wink of stella pens.

Here is the graphic for the challenge -

Thanks to the girls for having me at AAA Cards! Don't forget that Happy Little Stampers is sponsoring this challenge :)

Born to be Wild

Hi! I'm one excited gal because today the new release stamps for Happy Little Stampers arrived.

I have made a quick card before dinner but will get back to the craft room straight after :)

Lot's of embossing for this card! I couldn't wait to ink up the lion. I always knew that I wanted him to shine in Gold. I created my black panel by stamping a chevron several times and embossing in gold.

Here is a close up of the embossing -

Inkspirational #151

Hi there everyone! I am back over at Inkspirational after some time off. We have a great challenge for you over the next 2 weeks - Sandie has asked us to use stamping only!

Here is my card -

Stamping like this is usually perfect for a one layer card but I stamped on a panel and popped it up with a piece of craft foam instead.

I have used HLS Mix Mash and stamped using my MISTI.

Check out the blog for more inspiration from the other designers.

See you there :)

HLS October CAS Challenge

Woo hooo! Time for another CAS challenge over at Happy Little Stampers. This month we want you to create One Layer Cards!

I have made three cards for this challenge as I find one layer CAS is very easy to create.

Card #1

I embossed my balloon and sentiment with silver powder onto Watercolour Paper. The balloon was coloured with a pink Zig Watercolour pen. I added a few silver sequins as well.

Card #2

I stamped my circles randomly onto my cardstock then coloured them in with Sharpie Markers.

Clear Wink of Stella was used to add shimmer.

Card #3

I embossed my butterfly and sentiment on Watercolour cardstock then sprinkled Brusho powder and spritzed it with water. A few sequins finished it off.

One layer cards are perfect for mailing!

Here are the supplies that I used to create my cards - you can find them over at Happy Little Stampers.

Daler Rowney - Aquafine Watercolour Paper

Sharpie Brush Tip Markers - 8 Pack   MISTI (Most Incredible Stamping Tool Invented) - BACKORDER

Our winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon to spend at the shop! Check out all the details HERE.

Thanks for popping in today and I hope to see you join in over at the challenge blog.

HLS October Watercolour Challenge

Hello everyone. Well, this year seems to be flying by. In just a few short weeks I will be off to the UK for the HLS Craft Retreat. Wow, it has crept up on me like you wouldn't believe - so excited!

This month for the HLS Watercolour Challenge Anything Goes but you may like to play along with our optional twist.

I've made two cards for this challenge using our optional twist.

Card #1

I smooshed versamark ink through a stencil and embossed with gold powder. I applied Rose Red combined with White Brusho powder with a paint brush. I dried the panel in between applications to achieve the deeper colours at the top. I cut the shine from Gold Mirror Board and stamped the sentiment from the 'Simply Said' stamp set from Happy Little Stampers.

Card #2

I applied Brusho colours the same way as Card #1. This time I had a little gold mica powder added to the mix. Unfortunately the photo doesn't pick it up. It is quite subtle but gives it a lovely shine.

I die cut the Happy from Gold Mirror Board and then wondered if you could actually stamp on it too... I don't think I have ever seen stamping/embossing on the gold board so I gave it a go. I used my MISTI so as to make sure my stamping didn't slip. It worked beautifully! The sentiment is from the HLS Mix Mash stamp set.

I adhered my die cuts using my Quickie Glue Pen which is perfect for small areas.

Here are the supplies I have used to make these cards -

Daler Rowney - Aquafine Watercolour Paper

Brusho - Emerald Green    MISTI (Most Incredible Stamping Tool Invented) - BACKORDER

I hope you will play along this month. Don't forget Anything Goes!

I would like to play along in the following challenges -

Card 1

Moving Along with the Times - Geometric Shapes
Stamps and Stencils - Metallics
Always Fun Challenges - Anything Goes

Card 2

CAS on Friday - Use Dies

Oldie but a Goodie

Hi everyone! Time for a new challenge over at Inkspirational where Nonni would like you to look through your stash and find one of the first stamps you started stamping with to create something.

I have destashed a LOT of my stamps. When I started crafting, I was using mainly Stampin' Up products among others. When I started Happy Little Stampers, I started selling off a lot of my stamps. I did keep quite a few sets, though. So, my stamp set isn't one of the original ones that I have used but it is one of the ones that I have had in my collection the longest.

This is a stamp set from Lawn Fawn called Life is Good. I used my MISTI to stamp all my images onto watercolour paper. I embossed them with black powder. They were all coloured with my Zig Watercolour Markers and die cut out with their coordinating dies.

The sentiment is from HLS Mix Mash.

I added some wink of stella to the sand castle and bucket. I hope you can see it in the photo below.

This was really fun to make and was certainly a blast from the past :)

I can't wait to see your blast from the past so don't forget to play along over the next two weeks :)

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges -

Crafty Gals Corner - Punches and/or Dies
Crafty Cardmakers - Under the sea or at the beach
Make My Monday - Lazy days of summer

Ta Ta for now.

HLS August Watercolour Challenge

Hi everyone! Time for a new challenge over at Happy Little Stampers. The 1st of the month sees our Watercolour Challenge kick off. It is always Anything Goes but we offer an optional theme for you to play along with.

Today I am sharing with you something I have never made before - a mini book. I cut all my pieces out of watercolour paper using the Sizzix Passport Die.

The die allows you to cut your covers, inside pages, and spine to bind it all together.
I used the smooshing technique using Crimson, Orange, and Lemon Brusho colours.

I decided I wanted to create a book just for butterflies.

I used a number of HLS stamps and a couple of stencils with texture paste. I also hand wrote some butterfly quotes.

Once I had all my pages ready and dry, it was time to bind it all together. I used Baker's Twine and added a little butterfly charm.

Here is what the die looks like (it is an XL Bigz Die)

I added a couple of little blooms using a stencil and ink but my main focus was the butterflies.

I hope you will join us over at the challenge blog! Here is a recap of the stamps I used from HLS
