HLS April CAS Challenge

Hi again! Time for our CAS challenge over at Happy Little Stampers!

I'm sure you will find this technique really fun to do -

This month we are thrilled to have Sarah from Sazzle Dazzle Crafts as our Guest Designer. Welcome!

Here is my card -

I used dylusions ink spray on my stencil and then pressed my watercolour paper right on to the ink. I cut the panel down to size and mounted it on to black cardstock. The sentiment is from the new HLS set called Doodled Flowers.

I made this card with a dear friend of mine in mind. Karen from Serendipity Dragonfly passed away from cancer not long ago. Karen's battle with the disease was fierce. She never, ever gave up and when you spoke to her you wouldn't even know she was sick. I met Karen's sister, Val, a couple of years ago when I visited London. I also had plans to visit with Karen this coming July when I am over in the UK for the Happy Little Stampers Craft Retreat. Unfortunately I won't get to meet this wonderful lady.

Karen and Val were part of my original team over at Addicted to Stamps and More! which was the first challenge blog I created nearly 4 years ago. Karen also jumped on board at Addicted to CAS when it was formed not long after that.

It has taken me a while to actually write about Karen. I was devastated when I received the message from Val. Of course, my grief could not be compared to that of her family. My card is for Tony. My card is for Val. My card is for all the family and friends who have lost Karen.

May Karen now rest in peace as the pain is gone. Never to be forgotten.

Thank you for popping in today :)

  5. It's a beautiful sympathy card for the family friend. I was struck by the depth of color. Red tending to black ... a remarkable impression and really, I love it.

  8. Just realised I never dropped by about this card, boss lady! Loving this bold design, what a great colour choice too. Karen would have loved this, so sad she's gone but a blessing that the pain has now gone too xxx
