ATSM - Nature

Hi there everyone. I hope you are all well and ready to kick off 2013 with our Nature Challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More!

We have a wonderful new sponsor that I would like to introduce. I'm actually sure that no introduction is necessary!!

Our amazing sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps!!!! They are generously offering you a pack of 7 digi's from their store!!!

Here is my DT card -

I have used the sponsor image called "Blocks - Hummingbird" I have coloured the image with my Touch Twin Markers. The sentiment is from my Elements of Style set. The ribbon is Gumball Green.

This card has been made for a couple of weeks but it is ironic that it is my card for today. The sentiment is really applicable to my life right now. Some of you are aware that I am a carer for my dad and grandad. My grandad is 83 and a tough old bugger. He hardly ever gets sick or anything. I took him to the doctor last Saturday as he was suffering from a bit of back pain. The doctor gave him some medication and decided he would like do some blood tests. I also noticed that grandad's feet were quite swollen and it looked to be a bit like a fluid issue. I wasn't happy with his lack of progression so on Monday morning, I called him an ambulance so I could get him looked over at the hospital. A few test and now a couple of days later, this poor old bugger is riddled with cancer and the symptoms have just decided to show. The cancer is in his liver, kidney, colon, lungs and bones. He also has now been told he has an Aneurysm in his stomach. There is no treatment and will be only a matter of days or weeks as far as time left goes. They are doing further tests over the next couple of days to see if they can find out where the cancer actually started and then they will move him from the hospital and into Palliative care.

It's a bit strange to take him to the hospital yesterday and now find out that he isn't able to come home. All I can hope for now is they keep him pain free. Life certainly is a matter of moments :)

I've promised him I will sneak him in KFC tomorrow (his favourite) and that made him giggle ;)

Thanks for listening and thanks for looking. I hope to see you over at the challenge xx

  1. Oh Kylie, I'm so sorry about what has happened to your Grandad. Thankfully, he hasn't suffered too long with his pain and hopefully the doctors and nurses will make him as comfortable as possible. It is little comfort, though, and wanted you to know that my thoughts are with you. Lollxx
