Guest Designer at Krafty Chicks | Any Occasion

 Hi there, and Happy Thursday. It's nearly Christmas, yay! I'm over at Krafty Chicks again as their Guest Designer and the theme this week is - ANY OCCASION

I was in need of a graduation card and this particular graduate loves Llamas. The llama from the Lawn Fawn set ' Llama Tell You' was perfectly matched with the sentiment from the retired HLS set 'Simply Said'.

I stamped the Llama, coloured him in, then die cut him to pop him up on foam tape. I stamped the sentiments and mounted the panel on a coloured base. Easy!

HLS March CAS Challenge

Good morning, over at Happy Little Stampers we have our newest CAS challenge. This is the theme for this month -

There are so many special day's to choose from - what will you decide on?

I went with two cards - one for an engagement and one for a birthday. Both my cards are black and white with a pop of red.

Card #1

This is a Paper Artsy set that I have had in my stash for a few months now but have only just stamped it up. I used the sentiment from the HLS Born to Wild set.

Card #2

I used grey ink for the large heart then stamped my sentiment over it. I little glitter heart that I had laying around finished it off. I used the HLS Simply Said set for this card.

HLS August Watercolour Challenge

Hi everyone, it's time for a new Watercolour Challenge over at Happy Little Stampers!

Anything Goes but you may like to play along with our twist just like I did by making a number of cards :)

Card 1

I embossed all my little images from the Doodled Flowers set, watercoloured them with Zig Markers, then fussy cut them out. 

I  also used my Zigs to scribble on my background and blend them with water. I dried each colour with my heat gun before adding the next.

Card 2

Another masked and embossed card!

Once again coloured with Zigs. This is a combination of two stamps - Especially for You and Everyday Sentiments.

Card 3

This cute flower arrangement is a Woodware stamp that I bought at a sale while in the UK. Sarah and Anita were with me at the time and we had LOTS of fun!

I embossed the image with Liquid Platinum powder. I coloured everything with Zigs then went over it with a clear glitter pen. I die cut the Thanks out of the panel and then die cut it again 3 more times in black cardstock. I layered them all together so the sentiment would pop up a little. The 'for everything' is from the HLS Simply Said set.

Inkspirational #156

Hi again! Time for a new challenge over at Inkspirational!

Our word prompt for this challenge is 'Work'.

I had to think hard about this one but decided to go with a simple one layer congratulations card. I thought this would be good for someone who had a new job, had received a promotion, or even perhaps retiring.

HLS January CAS Challenge

Hello! Time for a new CAS challenge over at Happy Little Stampers!

A new year and time to celebrate friendships old and new!

I have made two cards - both with a combination of dry and heat embossing. 

I have a new embossing mat for my big shot. I have never embossed with dies before... can dies get any better??? A shout out to Chrissie - she showed me this technique at the HLS Retreat. I knew you could emboss with dies but had never tried it before!

Card # 1

I've embossed the die letters, stamped and embossed my butterfly, then drawn lines with a gold pen.

Card #2

I embossed my heart die and also embossed my sentiments.

HLS October CAS Challenge

Woo hooo! Time for another CAS challenge over at Happy Little Stampers. This month we want you to create One Layer Cards!

I have made three cards for this challenge as I find one layer CAS is very easy to create.

Card #1

I embossed my balloon and sentiment with silver powder onto Watercolour Paper. The balloon was coloured with a pink Zig Watercolour pen. I added a few silver sequins as well.

Card #2

I stamped my circles randomly onto my cardstock then coloured them in with Sharpie Markers. 

Clear Wink of Stella was used to add shimmer.

Card #3 

I embossed my butterfly and sentiment on Watercolour cardstock then sprinkled Brusho powder and spritzed it with water. A few sequins finished it off.

One layer cards are perfect for mailing!

HLS October Watercolour Challenge

Hello everyone. Well, this year seems to be flying by. In just a few short weeks I will be off to the UK for the HLS Craft Retreat. Wow, it has crept up on me like you wouldn't believe - so excited!

This month for the HLS Watercolour Challenge Anything Goes but you may like to play along with our optional twist.

I've made two cards for this challenge using our optional twist.

Card #1

I smooshed versamark ink through a stencil and embossed with gold powder. I applied Rose Red combined with White Brusho powder with a paint brush. I dried the panel in between applications to achieve the deeper colours at the top. I cut the shine from Gold Mirror Board and stamped the sentiment from the 'Simply Said' stamp set from Happy Little Stampers.

Card #2 

 I applied Brusho colours the same way as Card #1. This time I had a little gold mica powder added to the mix. Unfortunately the photo doesn't pick it up. It is quite subtle but gives it a lovely shine.

I die cut the Happy from Gold Mirror Board and then wondered if you could actually stamp on it too... I don't think I have ever seen stamping/embossing on the gold board so I gave it a go. I used my MISTI so as to make sure my stamping didn't slip. It worked beautifully! The sentiment is from the HLS Mix Mash stamp set.

I adhered my die cuts using my Quickie Glue Pen which is perfect for small areas.

ATSM - Clean and Simple Week

Hi there! It's time for a new weekly challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More and this week we want to see Clean and Simple creations.

I used the HLS Simply Said for this card. The heart was embossed with silver powder then coloured with Zig Watercolours. Once again, I coated it with clear Wink of Stella when it was dry.

I used my MISTI so I could get a nice, crisp result.

These are great guidelines for when you are creating CAS cards.
