Happy weekend everyone! I actually have nearly a full weekend without work today and tomorrow. I'm not sure what to do with myself :) I finished up my job as Bar Supervisor at the RSL last night and am now concentrating on my new career in the Pharmacy. I am also doing my online degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice so that takes up a lot of time too. So, happy days!
It's a new challenge at LIM starting now and we would like you to use -
When I first thought about this theme, I was thinking of very light, delicate colours. I also felt there was room for interpretation - subtle can mean a 'hint' of something. I decided to go with my second way of thinking.
I spritzed some Turquoise Brusho on to my watercolour paper and quickly dried it using a heat gun. I positioned my die so I could get that subtle hint of blue on the die cut itself. Turquoise, itself, probably isn't a subtle colour on its own but I found a way to use it in the context needed.
I have a second card but I probably pushed the boundaries a little with this one. In my opinion, I should have made sure there was less of the colour behind the die cut. Meaning, perhaps an ombre effect so there was even less colour on most parts.
We are very lucky to be joined by our Guest Designer - Milla who was our February Winner!

Thanks for popping in today and I hope to see you over at the challenge blog :)
Crisp, clean CAS perfection here Kylie. I love your take on the theme because a 'hint' can be subtle yet still make a statement. The brusho on your die cut word is just perfect. Maybe the second card is a little bright but I absolutely love it anyway. Super examples. xx
ReplyDeleteSuper DT inspirational makes for LIM this challenge Kylie, loving the faux stitched border too

Love turquoise so I'm smitten with both of these! I would never have thought of using Brushos for subtle colouring but your interpretation and use of a paler part used sparingly on your first card is perfection. Great job! xx
ReplyDeleteWow! I love both card. I’m totally in love with your turquoise Brushos hugs die cut. So beautiful with all the white all around. The same for your second card. Your cards remind me so much the Cyclades islands. Have a fabulous week! xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards.Thanks for the inspirationX
ReplyDeleteFantastic cards, Kylie. You certainly are the Brusho Queen, and these cards show it! I especially LOVE the hugs card. Just fabulous!
