My First Slimline Card

Hi everyone. Just a quick post from me today. Over the last few years I have tried many different card styles - different folds, different shapes, etc. I had never actually made a slimline card so I decided to give it a go.

This Lawn Fawn set (Ho-Ho-Holidays) is perfect to create a scene. I used the Mountain border dies and hillside border dies to create my background. I used a white-out pen to create the dots of snow.
I coloured all my images with polychromo pencils, die cut them out, then assembled it all.

I love this card but it felt like it took forever to make. I'm pretty used to my CAS style and sometimes only taking literally minutes to create something. But, there is something about colouring in that is relaxing :)

I would like to enter my card over at the following challenges -
CRAFT Challenge (Christmas), 12 Months of Christmas Link Up (Anything Goes), Merry Little Christmas Challenge (Anything Goes), Happy Little Stampers (Anything Goes with Dies), Happy Little Stampers (Christmas)

Thanks for popping in today :)

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

Our theme is

ANYTHING GOES OR 'SPOTS AND/OR STRIPES'

I used a new to me die by Penny Black (which has been around 'forever'!). I don't know how I have lived without it!

I was totally inspired by Laurie's card HERE so I CASED it :)

I die cut the wreath twice - once with white card and once with gold mirror card. I layered everything together with a little glue and finished it off with some glitter dots (my spots for this challenge).
The sentiment is from a Penny Black set called 'Hometown Christmas'.

Weekend Fun

Hi there, I've had a little time to create over the last couple of nights. My main aim was to use stamps that hadn't been inked up yet.

Card #1
This card is for my boss's birthday
I stamped the sentiment (Penny Black - Birthday Love) and Toad (Penny Black - Toadily Happy) with versafine ink and then embossed with black powder. I added sequins for interest. My boss has a musical hobby and has saxaphone lessons but I didn't have anything like that in the way of stamps. So, my guitar playing toad was my next choice :)

Card #2
I bought this Stampin' Up! set called Carols of Christmas (with coordinating dies) off a destash page on FB and it needed to be inked up. I used some patterned paper for my background. The sentiment has been embossed in silver powder. I used some strips of silver mirror card to create the top and bottom border and lastly added some silver sequins to finish it off.

Card #3
A new to me set by Waffle Flower called P-aar-ty Time. I had stamped and coloured a heap of the little images and then realised there had been a bit of a muck up with the packaging of the coordinating dies. I had one too many of the same die, so I was missing a die for one of the mice. A quick email to Waffle Flower and I should be getting a replacement.
I created the background with distress ink and flicks of water. The images were coloured with polychromo pencils.

Card #4
This set is by Penny Black called Butterfly Trio. It's a beautiful set of butterflies. I embossed the butterfly onto watercolour card. I used a combination of zigs and brusho to colour in the image. I fussy cut it all out and used foam tape to adhere to my card panel. The sentiment is from another Penny Black set called Furry Affection.

I would like to enter my cards over at the following challenges -
Card #1 - Inkspirational (Funny Sentiments), Day of the Month Card Club (Frog Jumping Day), Watercooler Challenges (Occasions), Penny Black and More (Men and Boys)

Happy 16th!

Hi everyone! I had to make a card for a co-worker's son who turns 16 tomorrow. Nothing scares me more than creating something for a 16 year old boy... it can't be too 'lovey dovey', or 'babyish'. I think I came up with a fairly good design for someone his age :)

I used the whimsy stamps 'Say What' sentiments with speech bubbles and coordinating dies. I decided the words like OMG and Epic were good ones for a 16 year old. You probably can't tell but the numerals and some of the speech bubbles are mounted on foam tape to achieve a little dimension.
The die cut numbers are by PTI.
The speech bubbles and words are all embossed.

I would like to enter my card over at the following challenges -
Creative Craft Cottage (Make it Masculine), Penny Black and More (Men and Boys), Seize the Birthday (Anything Goes), AUD Challenge (Masculine + Sentiment)

Thanks for popping in :)

Less is More #419 - Colour Challenge

Happy Saturday! It's time for a new challenge over at Less is More!

For my first card I utilised a cream card base, added a white tag and cream hearts.

For my second card, I reversed the colours by using white card as my base and a cream die cut butterfly. I used embossing enamel to create texture under the butterfly.

I would like to enter my cards over at the following challenges -
Card #1 - Cardz for Galz (Birthday), Try it on Tuesday (Black, White, and one other Colour), Simon Says Stamp (Dies and/or Punches)
Card #2 - Seize the Birthday (Anything Goes), Watercooler Wednesdays (Feminine), PaperMinutes (Butterfly), AAA Birthday (Things with Wings)

Mother's Day Trio

Good morning! I had to get started on Mother's Day cards so I got them finished over the weekend.

Card #1
This one is for my Mum -
I got the idea for this card from Kristina Werner's card HERE. This stamp set is new to me and I wanted to watercolour the mama and baby bear. It's called Bear Hugs by Mama Elephant.
I used my zig watercolour pens for the colouring. The background is an embossed stamp called Heart to Heart by CAS-ual Fridays.

Card #2
This one is for my step-mum
I used the eclipse technique for this card. The rose is from a set called Merci Beaucoup by Clearly Besotted. The alphabet dies are by MFT. The rose was coloured with Polychromo pencils.

Card #3
This one is for my Nan
Using the same set by Clearly Besotted I decided to emboss my flowers and mask to create a pretty bunch of roses. Again, I used polychromo pencils to colour the roses.

I would like to enter my cards over at the following challenges -
Card #1 - The Paper Players (Make you Smile), Cute Card Thursday (Feminine), Watercooler Wednesdays (Anything Goes), Shopping Our Stash (Mother's Day)
Card #2 - The Clever Dexter Challenge (Spring Blooms), CAS on Friday (Favourite Flower Stamp), The Card Concept (Mother's Day)
Card #3 - Stamping Sensations (Say it with Flowers), Dare2BArtsy (In the Garden), Creative Moments (April Showers bring May Flowers)
