Hi there everyone. Well by popular demand, I have created a video tutorial using Brushos. My most favourite technique at the moment is using Brushos, Starch and Cling Wrap.
I made a birthday card for Sandie and I had a lot of interest in how I made the background. So, sit back and enjoy as I show you 3 different ways that I use my Brushos.
Here is the card I made for Sandie just to give you a reminder. Using Brushos has different results every time you use them so I will never create the same background over and over which is awesome!
Thanks so much for looking xx
Thanks so much for adding the tutorial Kylie - FABULOUS.
ReplyDeleteI don't have brushos but think I may have to get messy and try with re-inkers????

Glad you enjoyed that particular technique, Kylie, loving your awesome make in my fave colour too!
ReplyDeleteI seem to keep missing you over at HLS these days - hope all OK with you
Kathyk
love your tutorial - I think I must get some Brushos now :o)
ReplyDeleteLove the tute, what did you use as stoppers?
ReplyDeleteI used to use Brushos onto watercolour washes with kids in school, great for using the darker colours, it doesn't get too intense.
Hi Jules, I have obviously emailed you but thought others would like to know. I had to check with my dad first but the stoppers are pop rivets from his tool box :)
DeleteFab tutorial Kylie, so clear and easy to follow. Much better than so many I have seen. Love the cling wrap technique. I don't know anything about brushos and don't have any and don't want to buy anything else! Do you know if this works with water colour paints?
ReplyDeleteHi Sandie, yes this should work with any watercolour based medium xx
DeleteJust got my brushos and tried them yesterday for the first time. Didn't know about the starch technique though so just been and bought some to try it out. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteReally GORGEOUS card, Kylie! Thank you so much for the video tutorial ~ I think I'm going to try Brushos for myself :)
ReplyDeleteHi Kylie, LOVED your tutorial, I haven't tried the starch and cling wrap but it looks amazing! You've inspired me to get my powders out and have a go, Cathy x
ReplyDeleteKylie, just discovered this fascinating video. I love these techniques, so will certainly be trying these. Some absolutely stunning backgrounds. Have you tried blowing the puddles with a straw (or use a Ranger spritz tool for fine lines? Such fun. Love this product). TFS
ReplyDeleteHi there Mary, yep certainly have! One of my cards over at HLS used brushos and blowing with a straw. Lucky I have a lot of hot air!
Deletewhich colors would you recommend?
ReplyDeleteHi Tanja, the pack I got was a starter pack with 12 pots of brushos. Wonderful colours to choose from just with this lot xx
DeleteEnjoyed the video and the end results. Thanks for sharing all your beautiful artwork.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this tutorial, Kylie. I see one reason my Brushos weren't looking good. Love this technique with the wrap. Hope I can try it later today. A beautiful card for a lovely lady!
