ATCAS #16 - TAKE FLIGHT

Hellooooooo!!

Happy Saturday!! I hope you are having better weather than I am right now! Heaps of rain. I may have to get the boat ready in case the waters rise!! lol.

We have a brand new challenge starting right now over at Addicted to CAS.

Here is your code word -

The wonderful and talented Karen is your host this week. We also have a wonderful sponsor!

Grab a Banner

Our CAS Perfectionist will receive a prize of 4 images of your choice from the store!!

Here is my DT card -

I decided to use a bird stamp for my interpretation of Take Flight. I could have used butterflies but I thought it was a little predictable. So, I decided to use a brand new stamp set from SU which is a sneak peek of a hostess set that will be available when the new catalogue arrives - It is called Simply Sketched and has a gorgeous assortments of stamps. The little 'splats' that I have used is from my new set called 'French Foliage' (SU). I have seen it around in blog land for quite a while and have finally got it!!

I simply coloured the image with different SU markers and stamped onto Whisper White cardstock, chopped off the corners with a small circle punch and popped it up on dimensionals onto Crumbcake cardstock. Voila!!

I can't wait to see all the interpretations of this code word so get cracking and join us over at the challenge blog!

Thanks so much for looking xx

Inkspirational Challenge #26 - Sketch

Hello again! Another challenge is kicking off today over at Inkspirational!!

We have a sketch for you this week -

I have taken a very basic approach to this sketch. I have also used an image from our sponsor called Charlotte at Paper Ship.

Here is my DT card -

I simply printed her off and coloured her with my SU markers. I added stickles to the water and her flower head band.

The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

Who is our wonderful sponsor this month?

ATSM Challenge #51 - ANYTHING GOES

Goodmorning!! How are you on this Wednesday morning?

We have a brand new challenge to share with you over at Addicted to Stamps and More

ANYTHING GOES!!

Here is my DT card -

A very simple card this week from me. I love Anything Goes challenges and really wanted to create something different this week. I was thinking a gift box or something but in the end I made a card that is going to go to a special friend who is having a rough trot at the moment. I can't tell you who because she will see this post ;)

I have used Basic Black cardstock for my base. Whisper White for the embossed panel (embossed with my Retro Swirls folder). I have used another bit of scrap from my Polka Dot Parade DSP (SU) - I've told you I love this paper, right?? The sentiment is from my Friendly Phrases set (SU).

We have

My Digi Store

joining us as our sponsor again this week.

Pop on over to check out the rest of the inspiration from the DT. I can't wait to see what you come up with and perhaps draw a little inspiration from all of you!!

Thanks so much for looking xx

IBS - Vintage

How are you all on this beautiful Sunday afternoon? I have taken some time after getting ahead (just a little) on my DT obligations to make a card for the Vintage challenge over at Inspired by Stamping.

I don't 'do' Vintage all that often so when I saw it pop up on my blog roll, I decided to get into it.

Here is my card -

I started with using some Vintagey looking background paper out of a pad but I can't remember what it is called. It has beautiful script and flowers on it. I used another piece to die cut a doily for the bottom left hand corner. I used yet another piece to die cut the banners (Hearts A Flutter Framelits SU), and popped them on dimensionals. The antique brad is also from SU.

The rest of my goodies come from Inspired by Stamping -

The butterflies are from a set called Butterfly Wings. There are 20 stamps in this set and they are ALL beautfiul. I have fussy cut three butterfllies and popped them on dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Fancy Sentiments set and inked with Chocolate Chip.

I used the Fancy Labels 2 and the co-ordinating dies. I inked this in Sahara Sand. The Rose seam binding ribbon is so beautiful!!

I hope you like!!

CAS Colours and Sketches - Colour Week

Hi everyone! Looking for a fresh colour challenge this week?

We have right here for you at CC&S!

Love this colour combo, but I did struggle with what to do. Actually I always struggle with colour challenges. I'm never sure where to start! Any hints??

I did like the stamp that I chose to use for these colours.

Here is my DT card -

This cute elephant is probably my favourite from the Patterned Occaisons (SU) set.
I have used my markers directly onto the stamp to achieve the different colours.

Now, I don't have Gumball Green and Primrose Petals in my collection. So, I just use whatever is closest. Even though we use Stampin' Up colours here, you can just use whatever you have in your stash.

The DSP is from my Polka Dot Parade collection which is really getting some good use. I just love it. I have popped the panel up on dimensionals and used more of the DSP on the inside of the card.

Lot's of white space and very CAS.

That's the name of the game over at CAS - Colours and Sketches. Remember to create a CARD that is CAS and it must include stamping.

Why don't you head on over to the challenge blog and check out the rest of the team. There is heaps of inspiration for you!!!

Thanks so much for looking xx

ATSM Challenge #50 and Happy Birthday!!

Hi everyone, I hope you are all well and having a wonderful Wednesday.

I'm a bit late with this post. I hadn't scheduled it because I simply forgot.... whoops.

So, I am back home from taking dad to the doctor and the usual stuff I get to do when I go to the mainland of Australia. Time to write my post, lol.

I am so happy to share with you that over at ATSM not only do we have a new challenge for you but we are celebrating our

1st Birthday!!

I can't believe it has been that long! Thank you to all the Design Team and our followers for having spent the time and effort each week with all your creative inspiration.

We have a photo inspiration for you this week -

and here is my interpretation of this photo -

My card is a very literal take on the photo inspiration. I have drawn from the colours, flowers and butterflies.

The butterflies are Memory Box dies and the flowers are from Inspired by Stamping. All the cardstock and DSP and stamps are from Stampin' Up.

I hope you have the time to join in with us this week.

ATCAS #15 - Teenager

Hi there! Hope everyone is well on this Saturday!

Saturday means the start of a new challenge over at Addicted to CAS.

We have a cool code word courtesy of the wonderful Vicki this challenge -

Here is my DT card -

I have used a SU set - love the pair of jeans which I thought would be perfect for a teenager. I really didn't have anything else! Anyway, I thought it worked so I am happy lol.

We have a great sponsor for you this week -

We can't wait to see what you all come up with. Check out the rest of the DT's creations. You will LOVE them!!!

CCS Challenge #29 - Sketch

Good evening all! I am happy to join you again with my DT inspiration for the latest challenge over at CAS - Colours and Sketches.

This week is sketch week -

I love this sketch. I was able to 'whip' up something very quickly for this challenge. That's the true meaning of CAS, lol!!

Here is my very literal take on the sketch -

I have used Basic Grey cardstock (SU) for my base. Using some scraps from my Polka Dot Parade DSP (SU), I have created the 'crossover' on the card. Using more scraps - this time with my Flirtatious DSP and Whisper White cardstock (SU), I punched out some flowers using my Blossom Punch (SU). I used the top of my glue stick (very technical stuff here!) to bend the flowers over and give them a little more dimension.

The sentiment is inked with Basic Grey and the stamp is from Paper Smooches.

Head on over and check out the beautiful contributions from our DT!!

Thanks so much for looking xx

KYLIE'S AUSTRALIAN FACTS ROUND 3

More than 80 percent of Australians live within 100 kilometres of the coast making Australia one of the world's most urbanised coastal dwelling populations (ahhh, this is the life)

Australia was the second country in the world to give women the right to vote in 1902 (yay)

Approximately 1.35 trillion bottles of wine are produced by Australia (I thought most of you would like this!)

The largest cattle station in the world is Anna Creek Station in South Australia at over 34,000 square kilometres. It is even larger than Belgium. (Holy Cow!!)

The Trans-Australian Railway crosses the Nullarbor Plain of Australia from Port Augusta in South Australia to Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. It includes the world's longest stretch of dead-straight railway track - 478 km's (297 miles) in length (now that's long!!)

Inkspirational Challenge #24 - Photo

Hi there and welcome! My DT post for the current challenge at Inkspirational is quite late. My internet now seems to have a mind of its own so lets try this morning.

What a beautiful winters day it is today. Halfway through the first month of winter and you would think it is spring here at the moment. We had a crazy flash storm last night (but that always happens in the tropics) and this morning, the birds are in full song the sun is shining and there is only a slight breeze. Perfect!

This week we have a photo challenge for you -

The photo actually reminds me of our storm last night. I'm not too far from the water where I live (well, I guess that isn't too hard living on an island lol). But, I can see the water from my house.

Here is my DT card -

I had to use one of my favourites - The Open Sea (SU). I just layered a few of the stamps to make my own panel and then used hemp twine for texture.

The sponsor over at Inkspirational this month is

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now onto our facts of the day

KYLIE'S AUSTRALIAN FACTS ROUND 2

The Australian federation consists of six States and two Territories. Most inland borders follow lines of longitude and latitude. The largest State, Western Australia, is about the same size as Western Europe

The name Australia is derived from the Latin Australis, meaning "southern". The country has been referred to colloquially as Oz since the early 20th century

Australia has six states—New South Wales (NSW), Queensland (QLD), South Australia (SA), Tasmania (TAS), Victoria (VIC) and Western Australia (WA) — and two major mainland territories —the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and the Northern Territory (NT).

The capital of Australia is Canberra in the ACT

ATSM CAS

Hi everyone! I know I haven't been around with my usual daily posts but things have been a little hectic. Not bad hectic but good hectic, make sense?

I have some bad news where my phone died on me. My phone is seriously my siamese twin and don't I feel a little lost without it! I have another coming but it will be another week or so before it arrives. Hopefully the tablet (the electronic kind, not the swallowing kind) I have ordered will arrive tomorrow and take away some of the pain....

ANYHOOOOO....

Onto the current challenge that starts RIGHT NOW over at Addicted to Stamps.

It's CAS week and here is my DT card -

I'm really annoyed with my photography lately but this will have to do for today.

Very, very basic.

Whisper White cardstock, DSP, a sentiment and some gems. Voila. How easy is that?
Too easy if you ask me!

Our sponsor this week is -

My Digi Store

---------------------------------------------------------------------

I have decided that with each post I am going to tell you a little bit of fact/trivia from where I come from. We all get to know each other in blog land but sometimes there are just things that you wouldn't even think to ask so I am hoping we can have a little fun with this.

KYLIE'S AUSTRALIAN FACTS ROUND #1

Australia is the world's largest inhabited island and the smallest continent
The Great Barrier Reef is the longest coral reef in the world, extending over 2,012.5 kilometres.
The Australian coastline totals 36,735 kilometres.
Australia is the largest continent occupied by one nation and is the least populated.

So, there you go! You may have known all of these little tidbits of information or maybe you have learnt something new about where I come from.

CCS - Challenge #28 - Colour

Good evening everyone! Hope you are all well :)

Today marks the start of a brand new challenge over at CAS - Colours and Sketches.

This week is a colour challenge -

(Please just use the closest colours that you have in your stash)

Today I have grabbed one of my all time favourite stamp sets - Apothecary Art (SU).

Here is my DT card -

I have used Basic Black for my base. I felt this would really bring out the beautiful colours.
I used my Garden Green and Perfect Plum markers straight onto the stamp. The sentiment was inked with Rich Razzleberry.

I love stamps that have co-ordinating dies.

I hope I have inspired you to join in over at our challenge this week. The other ladies on the DT certainly will if I can't so check them out!

Thanks so much for looking xx

Inkspirational Challenge #23 - Colour Inkspiration

Another week gone by which means another challenge over at Inkspirational.

This week we have a colour challenge for you -

Here is my DT card -

I have used my Up Up and Away set (SU) and some memory box cloud dies all of which have been popped up on dimensionals. I even remembered to do the inside of the card for this one!

The colours I used are Tangerine Tango, Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight.

Our monthly sponsor for June is

ATSM Challenge #48

Goodmorning!

Over at ATSM we have a colour challenge for you this week.

You don't have to use these exact colours - just the closest that you have.

Here is my DT card -

I have so many mixed emotions about this card. My conclusion is - I don't like it lol

Anyway, this is how I made it.

I used a memory box die that I hadn't used before for the trees and grass. This was cut onto striped DSP. The clouds are a memory box die and popped up on dimensionals.

I created the sun out of a circle die and a pennant die. I saw this technique by someone else in blog land and now I can't find it again! If it was you, please tell me so I can give you the credit!!

We have a wonderful sponsor for you this week -

My Digi Store

Prize $10 voucher

I can't wait to see you over at ATSM this week to see what you come up with!

Inkspirational Challenge #22 - Anything Goes!

Hi there, how are you all? I hope you are well!

This post is to remind you to head over to Inkspirational where the current challenge is

ANYTHING GOES!

There are only a few days left to enter and there is a wonderful monthly prize up for grabs.

Here is my DT card -

My base card is Chocolate chip and then paired with a panel of Very Vanilla. I have used Sahara Sand with a stamp from my Elements of Style set to create a background. Another panel of chocolate chip was then popped on that. I have just received a new set of stamps and co-ordinating dies from Inspired by Stamping (I was fortunate to win a challenge over there and received credit to the store!!). The Fancy Labels 2 and Fancy Labels Dies 2 are just gorgeous. I have stamped my label with Chocolate Chip and the sentiment (SU) in Sahara Sand.

The ribbon and flowers are from Inspired by Stamping.

The butterflies are from Hero Arts and have co-ordinating dies as well.

So, now it is up to you and the sky is the limit over at Inkspirational with our Anything Goes challenge!
I hope to see you over there!

UPDATE - I'm going to pop this into the Inspired by Stamping Customer Gallery!

ATCAS Challenge #14 - CIRCLES

Hi!! I am so excited because today is the start of a brand new challenge over at Addicted to CAS.

Our wonderful host this week is Mrs P (aka Marie) who is an amazing, creative woman. I am sure you will love her code word which is -

Take it and do with it what you like - just keep it CAS!

Here is my DT card -

I started with Crumb cake for a card base. I then used a small panel of Very Vanilla and then another panel from my Polka Dot Parade DSP (SU) - lots of circles (love it!!). I have wrapped some bakers twine around the panels (this was sent with a prize that I had won) and then used my circle die to cut another piece of Very Vanilla, stamped the sentiment and popped it up on dimensionals. The sentiment is from my Friendly Phrases set (SU).

I hope to see you join in this fortnight. We have a wonderful new sponsor to introduce -

Our CAS Perfectionist will win a $15 voucher to be used at the store!
