Technique Tuesday - Faux Pressed Flowers Challenge

I was looking at Jacqueline's take on this challenge which is just gorgeous! I was then intrigued to have a look at the tutorial. I loved the look this technique gives and decided I would give it a go.

I painstakingly chose flowers and paper, put it all together and then popped it through the Big Shot. I looked at it. I looked at it again. I thought, hmmmm, I can work with this. I looked at it again and thought "Yuk"!! My choice of colours and papers were terrible!!!

Back to the drawing board.

I am really pleased with how my second attempt turned out. This technique will be so versatile and you will be able to create anything!! Love it - thanks to Jacqueline and Mynette!

You can find this challenge at Technique Tuesday

Here is my card

I have used Stampin' Up! Whisper white card to attach my paper flowers to (these flowers are from a 2000 piece box that I've had for years and never used...) Once glued together, I popped it into my Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder and through the Big Shot a few times. I fixed some jewels into the centre of each flower.

I used the other paper from a Stampin' Up! kit called 'Slumber Party'. The sentiment is from the Whimsical Words set (stamped with Concord Crush) and die cut with Framelits. The ribbon is also from the 'Slumber Party' kit.

I loved this technique and I may go through the 2000 flower pieces quicker than I thought!!

  3. Hi Kylie what a pretty card, love the gorgeous colours. Love how the flowers are off the edge in some places the embossing gives great texture to the piece.
