Less is More #439 - CAS Inking

Welcome to our new challenge!

I had a heap of ideas for this one - especially using distress inks. There are many ways to keep a card clean and simple while using distress inks. I paired my inking with stencils, masking, and emboss resist.

Card #1
I simply inked through a stencil (ARTplorations - Just Flow) then added a large sentiment.

Card #2
This card took a little more time. I embossed the images in white powder then used distress ink over the top (emboss resist). I added a die cut plus embossed sentiment.

Card #3
By tearing some paper, I created a mask for my distressed sand. I stamped my images, die cut them, then popped them up with foam tape.

The design team have fabulous inspiration over at the challenge blog. Hope to see you there.

I would like to enter my cards over at the following challenges -
Card #1 - Make My Monday (Clean and Simple), Happy Little Stampers Stencils (Anything Goes), STAMPlorations Stencil Challenge (Anything Goes), Try it on Tuesday (Use a Stencil)
Card #2 - Simply Create Too (Wet or Dry Embossing), Watercooler Wednesdays (Feminine), Unicorn Challenge (Feminine), Daisy Chain Challenges (Flowers)
Card #3 - Cut it Up (Just for Kids), Creative Craft Cottage (Clean and Simple), Krafty Chicks (CAS)

CAS Perfection

Hi everyone. There is a new challenge over at AAA cards challenge. To me, this is CAS perfection. Only 1 inch of the card is to be used by the way of an inchie.

I pondered for quite some time about how to go about making my card. I played around with my 1" punches and then decided my design required me to use a die.

I've used the Lawn Fawn Car Critters stamp set. I cut out the 1" square then used a pencil to outline the inside of the square. When I opened up the card I could see where I needed to stamp my little bears.

I coloured everything in pretty quickly using polychromo pencils. I just coloured not worrying about shading etc. I created a mask from post-it tape and used distress ink for the background.

I now have some inchie squares and circles to play with so I am thinking this wont be the only card I will be entering :)

Thank you for popping in today :)

Less is More #438 - Baby

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you are well! We have a fun theme for you over at Less is More starting now -

For most of you, Spring is coming but here in Australia it is Autumn. We are finally getting a little relief from the heat.

Both my cards have used Lawn Fawn goodies.

Card #1
The Critters Down Under set has adorable images including this mama kangaroo and her joey.
I created the sky using the 'Cloudy Stencil' and distress ink. I die cut the grass using the 'Grassy Border' die from green card stock and then added distress ink for more interest. I coloured the kangaroo with polychromos then die cut it out.

Card #2
This is one of my favourite sets at the moment, 'Den Sweet Den'. It's very versatile and can be combined with many other sets. For this one, I have mama bear reading to baby bear. All the images were coloured with polychromos then die cut out. I've popped them up with foam tape.

I would like to enter my card over at the following challenges -
Card #1 - Watercooler Wednesdays (All Occasions), Creative Crafting Uncles (Wildlife), Girlz Creative Challenge (Use an Animal)
Card #2 - Crafty Catz (Die Cuts and/or Punches), Seize the Birthday (Anything Goes), Timeout Challenges (Birthday)

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

Welcome to the newest Penny Black Saturday Challenge!

Our challenge this month is -

Anything Goes + optional: Flowers

I have obviously gone with our optional theme of flowers :)

I embossed my roses with gold powder on watercolour paper. I used zig watercolours and a water pen to colour them in. I die cut them all and then arranged them on the card using foam tape to adhere them.
I embossed the sentiment in gold too!
The roses are from the 'Tenderness' set and the sentiment is from the 'Birthday Love' set.

I took a photo at a different angle so you can see the beautiful embossing.

I would like to enter my card over at the following challenges -
Krafty Chicks (Stamp Act), Ellibelle's Crafty Wednesday (Spring Colours), Simon Says Stamp (Beautiful Blossoms), Everybody Art Challenge (Birthday), Try it on Tuesday (Say it with Flowers), CAS on Friday (Spring)
