Urban Style for Inkspirational

Hi there everyone! Time again for another fun challenge at Inkspirational! We have a very cool theme for you this fortnight -

Here is my take on 'Urban'

I embossed my London skyline and sentiment and then used the Brusho, Starch, and cling wrap technique to create my background. I haven't done this since the HLS retreat last year so it was good to be playing again. This is such a great way to create amazing backgrounds.

I love the colours and effects you get! I was a little impatient with this one and took the cling wrap off a bit too early. Still, great results!

Here is my video tutorial I made some time ago which explains the process of this technique. PLUS a couple of other ways to use Brusho Crystal Powders too!

I hope to see you play along at Inkspirational for this challenge. The other girls have come up with awesome makes too so please pop on over to check them out.

Here is a summary of the products I used for this card -

Winner of my Nanna Competition

Time to announce the winner of my Nanna competition. Thank you so much to the ladies that took the time to play along - it meant the world to me :)

Now about the verdict. The ultrasound was a little early to tell the sex BUT the technician did say that in her opinion my son and his girlfriend are having............

A GIRL

I don't believe they would have been told if they weren't sure so, yay, fingers crossed the verdict is correct and we have a little Matilda on the way.

The winner for this competition was chosen at random.

Liz actually made TWO cards!

Aren't they gorgeous!!! Thank you Liz for playing along! You have won a $50 gift certificate to spend at Happy Little Stampers! Congratulations.

Please email me at kyliepurtell@gmail.com within 5 days to claim your prize.

It seems like a long wait until the due date in November but I bet the time really flys by and my little granddaughter will be here before we know it. I will keep you all posted of any updates.

Inkspirational Photo Challenge

Hi everyone! Happy Saturday. Today is a new challenge over at Inkspirational and this fortnight we have a photo to inspire you -

I liked the black and white elements of this photo plus the blackboard sort of look.

Here is my card -

Very simply done - an embossed image and sentiment then a doodled line and dots for the border using a uniball pen. Classic and one layer.

I hope you will find time to play along with our challenge. I can't wait to see you there :)

Thanks for popping in xx

"I'm going to be a Nanna" Competition!

Hello everyone! This is a very special announcement for me -
Everytime I say these words, I am literally doing cartwheels (in my head, of course) and just cannot contain my joy. My son Aidan and his girlfriend Ashleigh are very excited. Next week they have the ultrasound to find out the sex of the baby.

I thought I would have a little fun with everyone. I am feeling like giving away a prize so here are the rules -

For your prediction, create a card but choose a main colour - BLUE OR PINK
Your card does NOT have to be baby themed but it would be cute if it was :)
Link up here for the chance to win.
The contest will finish on the 9th of May 2017 AEST
The winner will be chosen at random

Let's see how many of you think it may be a boy or a girl

I predict they are having...... A GIRL! They even have a girl's name chosen - Matilda - isn't that the cutest name EVER? So far, they haven't decided on a boy's name so I think that is a sign... :)

What can you win? A $50 gift certificate to Happy Little Stampers!!

I made a cute little shaker card!

The background was created using the Brusho, Starch and Cling Wrap Technique - you can find my Video Tutorial HERE if you would like to give it a go.

I also wanted to share my card with this wonderful challenges

Little Red Wagaon #392 - Time to Celebrate
Stampavie and More #286 - Pink
Watercooler Challenge #117 - Anything Goes Feminine
The Crafter's Cafe #172 - Feminine

HLS May CAS Challenge

Hi everyone,

Let's get started with the CAS challenge over at Happy Little Stampers!

We all love a bit of rain especially to give us an excuse to get into our craft rooms!

Here is my card -

This was very simple to make. I stamped my image and sentiment at the same time using my MISTI. I added a bit of colour to the clouds and sun. Then I stamped my rain drops and coloured them in. Done! I used the HLS Rainy Days stamp set.

I hope to see you over at the challenge blog where the team has come up with plenty of inspiration for you.

HLS May Watercolour Challenge

Hi everyone! Today is the start of a new round of challenges over at Happy Little Stampers.

Here is our theme for this month -

Anything Goes but you may like to play along with our optional twist!

Here is my card -

This was a very easy card to make. I smooshed a panel of watercolour paper through brusho that had been misted with water. Once dry, I die cut the Echo Park Flower Bouquet (new addition to the HLS shop!). I used glossy accents with a fine tip applicator to adhere it to my panel. I die cut the 'forever' and also used glossy accents to adhere it. Easy peasy!

I hope to see you over at the challenge blog with your watercolouring!

Thanks for popping in xx
