Watercoloured Balloons

Hi everyone. I made a very quick card tonight and now it's time for my beauty sleep.

I used my stitched rectangle dies to create the faux stitching around the edge of my card and also to create my frame for the balloons.

I stamped and masked the balloon from the HLS Simply Said stamp set using my MISTI. I embossed them with black powder. The sentiment is from the Fun Birthday Sentiments set which, alas, has been retired.

The balloons were coloured using Zig Watercolour pens. Once dry, I covered the them with WOS in clear.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges -

Smooshed Birthday

Hi everyone. Today I had a little time to create a card for another birthday coming up this month.

I decided to watercolour smoosh a panel and then layer a new die cut over the top.

Here it is -

I started by sprinkling purple brusho onto my craft mat, misting it with water, then smooshing my watercolour cardstock into the paint. I repeated this step a few times, drying with my heat gun in between. I did the same with a smaller panel so I could die cut my butterfly.

I also used a little Gold perfect pearls to smoosh with too. It's not quite evident in the photo but it gives it a subtle shine.

I used my new MFT Split Chevron Cover Up die to lay over the top of my panel.

I used my MISTI to stamp my sentiment (HLS Fun Birthday Sentiments) onto a linen cardstock.
I also used my WOS pen to give my butterfly some sparkle.

I would like to enter my card over at -

(Ive used the topping of Black, White, and one other colour)

More flowers :)

Just a quick post from me. I was able to keep the mojo going with another flower card.

Once I had used my MISTI to stamp and mask my images/sentiment, I embossed the flowers and leaves with white powder. Again, I used my Zigs to watercolour and once dry I covered it with sparkle using a Wink of Stella pen.

Here is a close up of the glitter

Time to get crafty

Hi there! We've had some nice rain over the last couple of days which has helped with cooling things down a little. I had some spare time last night so I decided I would try and come up with a card for my Nan who turns 80 this month.

I have actually sat in my craft room many times over the last few weeks and do you think I could come up with just one thing? Nope! So frustrating. Anyway, even though I have plenty of goodies to play with in my Happy Little Stampers stash, it is always fun to play with my other stamps. I actually have a new set (Peony Bouquet) that I couldn't resist - one of the companies I love for their layering stamps is Altenew.

Here is my card

It is always a bit of a task when using these stamps for the first time especially if you are going to do layering. I sort of cheated and just went with the outline stamps for this card. The reason was that I wanted to do some watercolouring :)

I stamped the outline of the large flower onto some masking paper and fussy cut it out. Using my MISTI, I stamped and masked my flowers and greenery using Versamark ink and then embossed them with white powder.

I used my Zigs to colour in the images and then threw a few splats over the panel.

The sentiment was the perfect size - from Happy Little Stampers 'Mix Mash' stamp set. I used my MISTI to stamp it as well. There is nothing worse than taking all the time to create a card and then stuffing up the sentiment!!

I am now very happy I have been able to create something after all this time!

HLS March CAS Challenge

Hi there everyone. Just a very quick post from me today. Time is not my friend at the moment. I never seem to have enough hours in the day. I even made the card for the new HLS CAS Challenge at the very last minute. Well, only 8 hours prior to the challenge going live but that in itself was a challenge because it was night and getting a photo really sucks!

Anywho - our theme for our CAS challenge this month is

Get those die cuts cut and create something CLEAN AND SIMPLE!

Here is my card -

Terrible photo, I know! Very sorry....

I decided to do an inlaid die technique. Once I die cut the pieces out of my panel, I used my MISTI to stamp onto the butterfly die cut. The sentiment was die cut from a piece of glitter foam which had adhesive on the back (so convenient!).

This was very easy to create!

Happy Little Stampers sponsors Time Out!

Hi there. Today I am sharing a card that I have made for a special challenge over at TIME OUT. They are celebrating their 3rd birthday and Happy Little Stampers is sponsoring.

Congratulations to Sandie, Nonni, and their designers for a wonderful and successful challenge blog!

The theme for their challenge is

FRIENDSHIP / LOVE with the optional twist of Spotlight Stamping

Here is my card -

Of course, I had to 'Get Ziggy with it' and combine the HLS Doodled Flowers set with my Zig markers.

I trimmed a piece of watercolour paper to use as my card base. I started by stamping and masking my images over the front of the card. When I was happy with the end result, I used a circle die to cut out a portion of the card front. I coloured that piece in with Zig watercolour pens and once dry, I covered it with clear wink of stella. I used some double sided tape to pop up the panel after lining it back up with the orginial stamping. This created my 'spotlight'.

I have used the following HLS products

Thanks for stopping in and I hope to see you over at TIME OUT!

HLS March Watercolour Challenge

Hi everyone, welcome to March hey? Time just flies these days. At least we have lot's to do in our craft rooms!

This month our HLS Watercolour challenge is

That's right! You can make anything as long as you have watercolouring as your main element. You can also choose whether or not you play along with our optional twist.

Now, smooshing is one of my favourite watercolouring techniques but I actually didn't use it for my card.

Here it is -

I'm still playing with my new Zigs. I simply scribbled straight onto my cardstock and then spritzed the colour with a little water. I dried the panel in between adding more colour. I also scribbled colour straight onto my craft mat, spritzed it with water, then picked it up with a paintbrush to add my splats.

Once the panel was dry, I used my MISTI to stamp the sentiment.

I stamped three butterflies onto acetate and embossed them with black powder. After fussy cutting them out, I folded up the wings so I could use glossy accents on the body to attach them to my card.
Here are the products that I used which you can purchase from HLS -
