Hope your weekend has started off well. My Saturday is well into the afternoon and I've had some time to have a play. I also came up with a super quick video for you to show you how I made my card -
Have you ever used embossing folders to stamp with? I haven't until now. I decided that while I was having a play, I should video the whole thing to show you all what it is about :)
The backgrounds were really simple and a lot of fun. Once they were dry I used the Thinking of You set from Happy Little Stampers to complete my cards.
Here are the cards that I came up with. You will have to excuse my photography. We are getting storms at the moment and it is overcast and rainy.
Hello! A new release at Happy Little Stampers? Yeah!!!!
We are celebrating with another blog hop and you will have the chance to win! You should have arrived here from Happy Little Stampers. If you have come to me through the blog roll, just pop on over to the start and hop your way through :)
There is so much inspiration in this hop that it is going to make you fall in love with these stamps!
A set close to my heart as it is the first set that I drew by hand. I remember I was babysitting my niece and nephew at the time. I had taken my nephew to football training and was sitting in the car drawing these images.
I stamped my cute elephant and sun then created masks from post-it notes. I used distress ink for the background.
I used the stamp from Mix Mash to create my background. It was stamped with Neon ink. I love this sentiment! The finishing touch was the Bakers Twine also available at the shop.
There you go! I have had so much fun using these stamps and I know you will too!
Next up is Loll who is going to blow your socks off with her cards :)
Good morning! A quick post from me today to share a card that I made last night with a couple of challenges in mind.
It seems that everyone is all about Halloween at the moment. We don't 'do' Halloween in Australia but I thought that I could use some of the inspiration photos that are around at the moment and draw from the non-Halloween elements.
Here is my card
I have used one of my newest sets from Happy Little Stampers. I have to say that I love these sentiments. The set is called Everyday Sentiments. Perfect for your everyday cards!
I started by creating a brusho background. I sprinkled some crystals straight onto my watercolour paper and misted with water. I let the colours run around a little and let it dry.
I also used the circles from the Mix Mash set. I stamped them with Pumpkin Pie ink quite randomly over the panel.
I embossed the sentiments with black powder which gave a bit of shine to my card.
Here are the sets I have used
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges
For this card, I created a smaller panel that I could pop up with foam tape. I laid the panel on my card and stamped my hippo and sentiment first. Then I stamped the balloons making sure that some were over the edge of the smaller panel.
Card #1
I coloured everything with my Wink of Stella pens to add some sparkle. I hope you can see it in the photo below.
I really love this set, especially the elephant. I created the two smallest birds especially so they could hitch a ride with him/her.
I stamped my images and sentiment in grey ink. Something I don't do very often. I usually go straight for black... I need to rethink my stamping from now on ;)
Card #2
I coloured the elephant and bird with Spectrum Noir markers. I added clear Wink of Stella to the blanket and her toenails (yep, I decided this elephant was a girl).
I have paper pieced my elephant with a pink and white polka dot paper. Isn't she adorable! I sprinkled some brushos and misted with water to create a spray coming from her trunk. I think I got it looking ok as it was hard to control the colour. The sentiment is from the same set.
Here is the set
Head on over to the challenge blog as there is plenty of inspiration for you.
We all love a poinsettia on our Christmas cards, don't we?
Here is my card -
I have combined two sets from Happy Little Stampers (Big Bold Numbers and Mixed Christmas Sentiments) and went nuts with some gold embossing. A very simple card to make with the pop of red from the poinsettia completing the design.
Happy Little Stampers is sponsoring the Christmas Challenge and here is the prize you could win if you enter -
We also have a wonderful Guest Designer for this challenge. Pat from Colourful Card Creations has a wonderful card to inspire you so please pop on over and say hi.
Pop on over to the challenge blog and check out all the inspiration from the Designers. You will not be disappointed!
Another post for me today which has been a few weeks in the making.
Becca Cruger has set up a blog hop as October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month in the USA (was back in March here in Australia). This blog hop is designed to raise awareness about domestic violence, an issue that impacts 1 in 4 women, and the resources that are available to assist victims of domestic violence.
I am very proud to be part of this blog hop not only as a participant but as a sponsor. Happy Little Stampers will be giving away a
Here is my card -
I really concentrated on purple because that is the colour that is associated with DV Awareness.
I created my background with my Brushos, starch and cling wrap. Once dry I used a star stencil and embossing paste for some texture. When nearly dry I brushed over some perfect pearls to give the stars a golden shine.
The butterfly and sentiment are from Happy Little Stampers Butterfly Birthday set. The butterfly was embossed on vellum with purple powder. The sentiment was embossed in white.
I really hope that you can play along with the hop. There are heaps of prizes to be won. Not only that but we can come together and raise awareness for this serious problem.
If you are in Australia and are a victim or need help due to Domestic Violence (female or male) please go to the Domestic Violence Support Website.
What? Where did September go? Seriously, I cannot believe it is October.
Seeing it is the beginning of a new month there is a new sketch challenge for you to play with over at Happy Little Stampers.
If you play along you will have a chance to win this stamp set from Happy Little Stampers!
Here is my DT card
I always seem to stump myself even though I design the sketches lol. But, I never let that defeat me.
To create this card, I die cut my 'grass', placed it on the card and drew an outline in pencil at the top of the slopes. I removed the die and had a guide to where I could put my houses.
I didn't have much in the way of stamps or dies so the next best thing was to draw some funky houses myself. I coloured them with my Wink of Stella pens. I had another photo that showed all the glitter but I seemed to have lost it :(
The sentiment is from the Happy Little Stampers Big Bold Birthday set.
We have a wonderful Guest Designer joining us for this challenge - Valentyna. She is an AMAZING card maker and we are honoured to have her with us.
I hope you will find the time to play along with us this month.
