Brushos for Ocean and Sky

Hi there everyone. Hope you are well.

I have a card to share with you using my favourite techniques at the moment. Bruhos + embossing.

The background panel is the one that you can see that I made in my video tutorial. Once it was completely dry, I was able to emboss straight on top.

Here is my card using new release stamps from Inspired by Stamping

I love the blues on this panel.

Such a great effect!

You can see my video tutorial below

Here are the sets I've used from Inspired by Stamping

Mixed Media Butterfly

Hi there everyone. I had been away from home for 11 days and when I got back, I had an early birthday package waiting for me from my gorgeous friend, Loll Thompson. Loll said I could open up my parcel even though my birthday isn't for a couple of weeks.

Loll spoilt me rotten. Heaps of stencils that she had made me, butterflies galore and boxes of sequins. Thank you so much Loll!

The weather is quite dreary here at the moment with lots of wind and rain. There's no better place than your craft room on days like this so off I went to play with my goodies from Loll.

Here is a card I made using a butterfly stencil.

I had a piece of watercolour card that I had already used my brushos with. It had gorgeous orange and pink colours.

I placed my stencil on the panel and used Spiced Marmalade distress ink with a sponge to lay down the colour. Using a sponge again, I inked Vintage Photo around the edges of the butterfly but used a flicking motion to create some texture. I ended up doing that around the whole panel.

I also used a Tim Holtz stencil at the bottom and top of the butterfly in orange and pink inks. Lastly, I used a white pen to randomly add dots.

The sentiment is from PTI.

Mixed Media is way out of my comfort zone but I was quite happy with how it turned out.

Watercolour and Vellum

Hi everyone. I quickly made a card today (it feels like forever since I have been in my craft room as I have a lot of scheduled posts going on). I wanted to let you know about the new challenges at Addicted to Stamps and More and Addicted to CAS and also a reminder for the current challenge at Happy Little Stampers.

Here is my card -

This was created by spraying water onto watercolour card and then sprinkling brushos on top. I sprayed with a bit more water and started to dry it with my heat gun. I turned the paper over and decided that I liked that side better than the front!

I have attached a piece of vellum with an embossed sentiment.

Here are the challenges I am entering

Sea shells are.....

Hi again. All week over at Inspired by Stamping we are concentrating on ways to use embossing on your cards.

I have used an absolutely gorgeous sentiment set for this card.

I felt the kraft and blue card together created such a nice combo.

I have a heap of these little charms for all different occasions so I have tied it up with some jute string to attach it to my card.

Isn't this sentiment so sweet! I have embossed it in white so it pops off the kraft card stock.

HLS June CAS Reminder

Hi there everyone.

A quick post from me to remind you that our challenges over at Happy Little Stampers are still up and running for the month.

Our CAS challenge this month is

Here is my card -

To create this card, I sprinkled brushos onto my craft mat then sprayed them with water. I randomly smooshed the little die cut pieces in the colour. Once dry, I assembled all those little negative bits back into place.

Don't forget we also have our SKETCH challenge HERE

Watercolour Sentiments

Hi there everyone.

A quick post from me today using one of the New Release sets from Inspired by Stamping.

Here is my card -

Using my favourite background technique, I have layered up the panels with foam squares and embossed the sentiment in white.

Here is my video tutorial for you to see how I made the background using Brushos, Starch and Cling Wrap.

Reminder for Happy Little Stampers

Hi there!

I have made a reminder card for the CAS challenge over at Happy Little Stampers. Have you been over there lately. There is a brand new look for the blog and forum.

For this challenge we would like you to use

Once again, I have used my brushos. I have activated them by spraying them with water.

Here is my card

This die was sent to me by the generous and fabulous Joyce. Isn't it fun! Thanks Joyce!!!

I sprinkled my first colour of brusho crystals onto my craft mat and gave them a couple of sprays with water so they would activate.

I then laid part of the die into the colour then dried it with my heat gun. I repeated this process with other colours.

Once it was completely dry, I covered it in clear embossing powder. It is very shiny IRL and unfortunately the photo doesn't capture it that well.

I hope you will join us at Happy Little Stampers this month. We also have our sketch challenge up and running. Here it is to remind you -

Thank you Card

Hi there everyone! I hope you are well :)

This week over at Inspired by Stamping we are showcasing Thank You cards.

I have used a new, fun set called Polka Dots.

To make this card I did quite a bit of masking.

First, I masked the area on the card where I wanted to stamp my sentiment. Then I started randomly stamping the polka dots in different colours.

The sentiment in this set is a block so I masked the 'you' and stamped 'thank' first. Then I repeated this step again but switching the mask.

Lastly, I scored lines above and below my sentiment.

Here is the set I used today

Guest Designer for Inkspirational!

Happy Saturday everyone!

Today I have the honour of being the Guest Designer over at Inkspirational. There is a photo for us to work with for this challenge.

There were so many ideas I had for this photo. Originally I was going to start with using some newsprint DSP to symbolise the book but in the end I concentrated on the gorgeous flowers and how their stems looked like vines.

Here is my card

The little flowers were created by using the smallest die in the SU Flower Framelits set. I used my stylus to shape them and added pearls. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

This card is going to a lady who has just had surgery and the photo reminded me of her probably being home now and reading a good book while she recovers.

See you over at Inkspirational!

Happy Little Stampers June CAS Challenge

Good morning everyone!

We have a brand new CAS challenge starting today. Last month we had well over 200 entries. I am so proud and humbled that you take the time to play along over at HLS

Here is what we are focusing on for this challenge

You can interpret this a number of ways. I don't have any ink sprays or something similiar so I used water as a spray and a mist. I have also used a starch spray for this card.

You can check out how I created this background by watching my video tutorial below. It is so easy and most importantly fun!!

We have wonderful guest designer joining us over at Happy Little Stampers - Chrissie from Simply One of a Kind has created an amazing card and it would be wonderful if you could pop by her blog to say hi :)

Happy Little Stampers - June Sketch Challenge

Hello! Phew, can you believe it is June? It's the first day of winter here in Australia. You are going to hate me but it is still bare feet weather where I live. Very cold in the southern areas, though.

The new sketch challenge for Happy Little Stampers is now live so I can't wait to see what you come up with :)

Here is the sketch

A fun, tropical scene for you to play with.

I copied the sketch basically to the letter. Here is my card

I have stamped and coloured images from Lawn Fawns Life is Good set and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

The sun is from Lil' Inkers and the sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps.

I hope you will find time to play along this month!
