CAS - Colours and Sketches DOUBLE!!

It's double time over at CAS - Colours and Sketches!
This week we challenge you to use our Sketch AND Colour Combination.
Don't you just love the different shades of blue that our leader Jacqueline has chosen for you?
Don't panic if you don't use Stampin' Up colours - just try and use what you have that is as close as you can get to the colours provided!
Here is my DT card for this challenge -

I have used a square die to cut out a window from the top panel (which is mounted on foam tabs). Using my Painted Posies set (this is a two step stamp), I first used Tempting Turquoise to stamp all over a panel of cardstock. With the help of my Stamp-a-ma-jig, I used Not Quite Navy on the outline of the flower and went over the previous stamping.
I don't have Island Indigo so I used Pacific Point for my sentiment which is from my Heard from the Heart set. The butterflies are Hero Arts stamps with co-ordinating dies and have been stamped with Tempting Turquoise.
Lots of blues, but I like it!!
I would love to see what you come up with. If you are stuck for ideas, check out the rest of the DT for some amazing inspiration!!

FBW #225 - Anything Goes

I was so happy to make a card today. I sat down to make one with a particular couple of people in mind. They have been so kind to me and my family since my Grandad passed away that I felt I needed to thank them. I also wanted to participate in the latest challenge over at Flutterby Wednesdays where it is Anything Goes.

This card is filled with wonderful new goodies. The embossing folder is called Retro Swirls (new), the ribbon is Seam Binding in Pear Pizzazz (new) and the little strip of DSP is from the Flirtatious set (new). I have added a butterfly from my Beautiful Wings Embosslits. The sentiment is from my Petite Pairs set and stamped in Old Olive and then added a row of pearls either side.

I also would like everyone to know that I have received a number of sympathy cards from my new blog family. Isn't this place just amazing! I have never met you but you are certainly part of my family and I treasure each and every one of you. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for your ongoing support and prayers xx

Inkspirational - Anything Goes

Hey there everyone, we have a brand new challenge for you over at Inkspirational.
I have been pretty much missing in action as we have been without power for the last few days due to the storms here in Queensland. The storm also kept us very busy at the Fire Brigade dealing with fallen trees and the odd smoke alarm going off. Today there was an accident where a car met with a tree and as part of the Fire Service, we cut the driver out of the wreck and placed her in the safe hands of the paramedics. She was air lifted to hospital so I hope she is ok.
Now, the good news is that I have electricity!! Yay.
I am way behind with EVERYTHING! So with in between the clean up from the storm etc. I am going to try and spend some quality hours with my blogs.
Phew! Way off the track there. Now back to the challenge.
This week is
Here is my DT card for this challenge -
In between everything that has been happening I managed to make my mum her birthday card. I have used the Triple Time Stamping technique and used my Growing Green set in Poppy Parade and Concord Crush.
The Basic Black and Whisper White cardstock was lovely for this technique.
I have popped the top panel up with foam pads.
The sentiment is from my Heard from the Heart set.
We have a prize for our January winner which is from
We can't wait to see what you come up with for our final challenge for January. Please don't forget to read the rules over at the challenge blog.

Happy Birthday for Less is More and ABC Challenges

Yep, my second post for today as I feel that while I still have electricity I am going to keep on crafting!!

We are starting to flood a little now but not so that we would have to leave or anything. It is certainly the wind that is the most disconcerting.

So instead of running for the hills, I decided to make a card for

Less Is More - Sketch (which was right up my dark and rainy alley)

and the challenge at ABC Challenges is to make a birthday card.

I have used a stamp from my Growing Green set and have embossed the outline using Black powder. I have coloured the stamp in with my Real Red marker. The sentiment is from my Petite Pairs set and stamped with Real Red as well. I have added two tiny pearls either side of the sentiment  - I think they are cute ;)

Thanks so much for looking xx

52 Christmas Card Throwdown - Triple Time Stamping

Well, this is one of my FAVOURITE techniques and I was soooo happy to see the challenge over at 52CC Throwdown!

We are getting hammered by weather today... We have severe storm surge warnings and gusts up to 70 knots!! I swear the house is moving at times and the rain itself is making it impossible to leave. Lucky for me I live on fairly high ground but I am keeping my eye on some of the gum trees that may be likely suspects to come down. I don't think the ground is that saturated yet but it looks like it isn't going to let up too soon.

So what is a girl to do on a day like today (when I still have electricity)? Of course she gets crafting!!

Now as excited as I was about the current challenge at 52CC Throwdown, I wasn't that excited when I finished my card. This is actually my second attempt. Don't you hate that!! lol.

Anyway, me thinks that I will be making another card anyway and I will post this to get the ball rolling.

The sentiment is from my Heard from the Heart set and the the others are from my Ornament Keepsake set.

While writing this post, the lights are starting to flick!!

Here is my DT card for this challenge -
I had this cute little heart that was already cut out of glitter paper. It came with a heap of goodies that a friend gave me ages ago. I have simply embossed the panel with my Swiss dots folder and then used my scalloped circle die to cut out the middle. I have popped it up onto double foam squares for extra lift.

Belated birthday at Crafty Cardmakers

We have a new challenge for you at CCM and it is hosted by the lovely Kim and here is what she would like you to have a think about with this challenge -

As I am always notoriously late with sending my cards it seems appropriate for me to choose a Belated Birthday challenge. Any image, Stamped or Digi, will do but your card MUST include a sentiment indicating that the card is for a belated Birthday, for example - Sorry I missed it, Have a very Happy Unbirthday, Better late than never, Your birthday came, your birthday went, here's the card I should have sent!!

So see what you can come up with to amuse us, or just a straightforward belated birthday wishes will do, but remember it does need a sentiment as outlined above to qualify.

I have used a digi from Bugaboo Stamps for this DT card. He is called Bobble Head Farm Rabbit and you can find him HERE

I have paper pieced my hare and mounted him on Silver glitter paper. The sentiment is from my Birthday Banter set.

"Hop" over and check out the DT inspiration from my team mates!!

Thanks so much for looking xx

I have embossed my panel with my Lattice folder (one of my favourites).
My second card is using my Elements of Style set and that awesome glimmer paper! Are you sick of seeing this yet? ;)
The Hummingbird was stamped with Versamark ink and then heat embossed with Cherry Cobbler powder. The Crumbcake, Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black go so well together. I have doodled my border with my White gel pen.
Now, head on over to see what the DT have come up with. As usual, they have created spectacular examples for your inspiration. I'm so lucky to have such an amazing team!

So Grateful - Easel Card

Hi there everyone.

I would like to express my appreciation for all your kind words of support for my Grandfather.

I needed a bit of 'therapy' this afternoon once home from the hospital and I really wanted to make some thank you cards for the staff there.

This card, in particular, has been made for the Palliative care nurse that has been just amazing with her support and the way she explains things to my family. She really is a lovely lady.

I decided I wanted to try my hand at another Easel Card as I thought it would be perfect for her desk if she felt she would like to display it.

I was very happy with how this turned out. It was one of those cards that was not planned , it just happened and it came together beautifully. LOVE those cards, lol.

I have used Crumbcake cardstock for the base. The printed paper is actually tissue paper - isn't it lovely? It was given to me in a bag of bits and pieces and I've never used it. I think it is really pretty.

I have coloured my Apothecary stamp with Garden Green and So Saffron markers. I have used my Framelit Label dies and have embossed the larger one with my Lattice folder.

My butterflies are from the Beautiful Wings embosslit.

The beautiful flowers are from Inspired by Stamping.

The bottom panel has been raised up on foam pads so the card can 'stand up'. The pearls were the final touch.

I am going to enter this card at

Make my Monday - dry embossing
Flutterby Wednesdays - Use something new (my tissue paper)

Thanks so much for looking xx

ATSM - Nature

Hi there everyone. I hope you are all well and ready to kick off 2013 with our Nature Challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More!

We have a wonderful new sponsor that I would like to introduce. I'm actually sure that no introduction is necessary!!

Our amazing sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps!!!! They are generously offering you a pack of 7 digi's from their store!!!

Here is my DT card -

I have used the sponsor image called "Blocks - Hummingbird" I have coloured the image with my Touch Twin Markers. The sentiment is from my Elements of Style set. The ribbon is Gumball Green.

This card has been made for a couple of weeks but it is ironic that it is my card for today. The sentiment is really applicable to my life right now. Some of you are aware that I am a carer for my dad and grandad. My grandad is 83 and a tough old bugger. He hardly ever gets sick or anything. I took him to the doctor last Saturday as he was suffering from a bit of back pain. The doctor gave him some medication and decided he would like do some blood tests. I also noticed that grandad's feet were quite swollen and it looked to be a bit like a fluid issue. I wasn't happy with his lack of progression so on Monday morning, I called him an ambulance so I could get him looked over at the hospital. A few test and now a couple of days later, this poor old bugger is riddled with cancer and the symptoms have just decided to show. The cancer is in his liver, kidney, colon, lungs and bones. He also has now been told he has an Aneurysm in his stomach. There is no treatment and will be only a matter of days or weeks as far as time left goes. They are doing further tests over the next couple of days to see if they can find out where the cancer actually started and then they will move him from the hospital and into Palliative care.

It's a bit strange to take him to the hospital yesterday and now find out that he isn't able to come home. All I can hope for now is they keep him pain free. Life certainly is a matter of moments :)

I've promised him I will sneak him in KFC tomorrow (his favourite) and that made him giggle ;)

Thanks for listening and thanks for looking. I hope to see you over at the challenge xx

Here is my DT card -

I have used an unknown stamp that I got off my mum last April. I just can't remember the name of it, sorry. I have coloured it with my chalks and used my Snow Marker to create the puffy clouds.
I felt that the silver glitter paper really helped give that 'far, far away' look. ;)

This card was given to my 9 year old god-daughter who visited me the other day - she loved it!!

We have some wonderful sponsors for this challenge -

52CC Throwdown and ColourQ

Good morning everyone, I hope you are having a marvelous weekend!

Have you all made your New Year's resolutions? I have made a couple that only my friends in blog land will appreciate. One is to participate in every weekly challenge over at 52CC Throwdown and my other is to find a new challenge blog that I can participate in - ColourQ

Last night I made a card for these two challenges -

The first week for 2013 at 52CC Throwdown is a sketch which I loved. The challenge over at ColourQ is to chose any of the colour palettes that the DT have used for their projects.

Here is my card -

I received the Punch Pal set on Friday (part of the Clearance Rack) and decided to ink it up. What a great set this is!! My first Christmas card for 2013!!! Only 51 more to go, girls lol.

I substituted Pear Pizzazz for Certainly Celery. I really liked this colour scheme from the moment I saw what Jen over at ColourQ had done with it. I didn't know if I could pull off a Christmas Card with it, but it worked really well!

Thanks so much for looking and have a great weekend xx

I decided to make my first ever Easel Card. I think I have to practice some more but I was happy with the end result.

CAS - Colours and Sketches

Hi everyone! We had some beautiful entries for our last sketch challenge and we cannot wait to see what you will do with this colour challenge.

Jacqueline has been so very busy organising us gals and has come up with some wonderful challenges for us. I really, really like this colour combination and got out one of my favourite stamp sets - Apothecary

Here is my DT card for this challenge -

I have used my Stampin' Write markers directly onto this stamp. I have used So Saffron and Graden Green (This was as close as I could get to the combination given).

I have used Crumb Cake for the cardstock and the sentiment. I embossed one of the Framelit Label die with my Fancy Fan folder.

Don't have the colours in the combination? That's ok - just use as close as you can get! Also, your card must include a stamp.

Now, don't forget to pop over to CAS - Colours and Sketches and check out the DT's inspiration for you and then join in!! We would love to have you there.
