CAS - Colours and Sketches Challenge #1

I am very excited to say that I am now part of the Design Team at a brand new challenge blog!
It is a CAS inspired challenge that incorporates sketches and colours. Our lovely leader, Jacqueline, has come up with an awesome combination to kick it all off!
For this challenge you need to follow the colour chart AND the sketch provided. If you don't have the exact colours (like me), that's OK. Just use the closest shades you have!
PLUS - You must use stamps on your card!
Here is my card -
I have substituted Cherry Cobbler for Real Red. I have used a Hero Arts stamp and die set and created the 3D elements. I have popped the squares up on dimensionals (not so noticeable) and used the matching sentiments from my Petite Pairs set.
Hop over and check out this brand new blog and what the DT have created! You are going to love it and we can't wait to see what you come up with.
I would also like to enter this into the challenge at
Technique Tuesdays  3D Punch Elements (love this!!!)

Happy Christmas, Mate!

I hope everyone has enjoyed or is enjoying their weekend wherever you are around blog land!

I have made a card today for two challenges. The first one is Keep it Simple which is a colour challenge this week. The other is Christmas Card Challenges where you need to paper piece.

I have really wanted to try paper piecing for ages and I ended up asking the Queen of Paper Piecing herself a little about it - The amazing Loll has a very easy to follow tutorial and it was terrific to be able to put the technique into one of my cards.

I chose a SU image that I felt would suit the colours at Keep it Simple perfectly. My Santa surfing the waves is so cute and I just love his shorts!

I paper pieced the wave, Santa's shorts and hat and his surfboard. I coloured the rest in with Stampin' Write markers.
You can find the challenges by clicking on the images below
Use the colours in the logo as inspiration

Keep it simple!

Happy Spooky Birthday

I am getting very excited as I have a long weekend away starting tomorrow. I am going down the coast (about 1 hour away) to stay with one of my bestest friend's who is celebrating her 30th birthday. She has chosen to have a Halloween Party!! LOL. I have decided to dress up as a Vampire! Hopefully the dress, wig, makeup etc all goes well and there MAY be some photos on Sunday...
So, I had to make her a birthday card that wasn't the traditional type. She is going as Cruella Deville and as hard as I tried I couldn't really find an image that I wanted to use.
I decided on this 'not very happy' witch lol. Isn't her expression just priceless? I was going to print out my own verse saying 'I'm not old, I'm just bent out of shape'. Well, I thought it was funny...
Here is my card -

I have coloured "Witchy Poo" with my Touch twin markers. The whole design is very simple, really. I have sponged basic black ink onto my beautiful Victorian Lace (sniff, sniff). I really love the end result. Now, I also decided to stamp something on the inside of the card.

I didn't photograph this too well, sorry. I have used three stamps for my Wicked Cool set. The top stamp actually says 'have a wicked halloween' but with the versatility of my Stampin' Markers, I was able to use the part of the stamp that I wanted.  The 'Happy Birthday' is from my Sassy Salutations Set.

I can't wait and will be packing my bags shortly!!!

Guest Designer for IBSIC#36 - Sketch Challenge

The lovely Joanna over at Inspired by Stamping was generous enough to offer me a Guest Designer spot for her latest challenge. It's a sketch challenge and I know you will have fun with this one!

And here is my card -

This gorgeous digi is from Mo's Digital Pencil. I looooove the little pooch 'singing' along! lol.

I have coloured the image using Stampin' Write markers and embossed some Crumb Cake cardstock with my snowflake folder. The sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping.

I would love to see you all join in this week. The DT are truly inspiring!!

CAS Challenge #4

Happy Wednesday! That means a brand new challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More!
It's a challenge that we either love or hate - Clean and Simple!
I had a look at the digi's over at Meljen's Designs and chose a few of my favourites. I really liked this 'Cat in the Window' and thought it would make a perfect CAS card.
I coloured the image using my Touch Twin Markers. Then I cut it all out (including the 'glass' window panes) and created a panel behind that I could use as a 'view'. I sponged the ink onto the panel and used the little birds out of my Up Up and Away set. I have popped the image onto little foam squares and then popped the white panel up dimensionals.
I didn't use a sentiment because I thought this card could be used for a variety of reasons. I like to think it would be a nice 'Miss You' card. Seems the cat is waiting for his owner to come home lol.
One of these days I will actually decorate the inside of my cards. Just too lazy, I suppose... :)
A quick shout out to my Aussie partner in crime, Patrice. Good luck with your surgery today, chook. Thinking of you xx
Please pop over and check out the rest of the inspiration from the DT!!

This was definitely a challenge!

The gals over at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown have a doozie for us this week. They would like you to create something that incorporates Scripture. There are so many Christmas verses that I didn't know where to start. I also didn't want to choose one willy nilly, so there it became the challenge.
The first thing I really decided was that I wanted to use an Angel and not just any Angel. I looked at what felt like thousands of digis and images online but nothing grabbed my attention.. until... I found this gorgeous silhouette of a Herald Angel. This opened up all the possibilities for the verse as well.

When I chose the striped paper from my Festival of Prints DSP stack, I was a little scared. Perhaps a little over the top? Once I put it all together, I really liked it (and not one stamp!!).

Here is the verse in case you can't read it too well -

And the Angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2: 10-11

I hope you can join in over at 52CC Throwdown - they have some wonderful inspiration for you.

ATCAS#1

I can't believe the day is finally here! A few weeks ago, I came up with an idea to have a sister blog to Addicted to Stamps and More! I wanted to dedicate a challenge blog to Clean and Simple, so Addicted to CAS was born!
I would like to thank my awesome DT that has started this journey with me. They are very, very talented ladies and I know you are going to love what they come up with.
I am hosting the challenge this fortnight - the theme I have chosen is
Now, this could mean a number of things and I am looking for really creative entries. Think outside the square and get CAS-ing!
Here is my card -
Now, I have chosen a theme that is really hard to photograph haven't I?? Oh dear.
I have used my Lovely as a Tree set and stamped in Chocolate chip. I have used a Snow Marker and then Diamond Stickles on top. The back panel has been embossed with my Swiss Dots folder. The gorgeous ribbon is Lucky Limeade.
We have an amazing sponsor for our very first challenge. Joanna Munster from Inspired by Stamping is offering a prize for our CAS Perfectionist!!
Inspired by Stamping
$20 GIFT VOUCHER
I can't wait to see what you all come up with. I'm very excited!!
Thanks so much for looking and check out the DT over at the challenge! xx

Jingle Bells!

Happy Saturday!
I am like a child with ants in my pants today - today is the launch of my new challenge blog called Addicted to CAS so I am very excited and nervous. Watching the clock just doesn't make it go any quicker so I've sat down, put on a movie (we have a wicked storm coming through right now) and started to make a card.
This card is for 4 awesome challenges which gave me loads of inspiration. I combined the three as one was sketch, one was colour and one was theme. The last one is for the digi that I have used from Mo's Digital Pencils.

I love this digi - she is called "Jingle Bells". I particularly like these colours used with her too. I especially like the pooch that is singing along with her!

Here is the sketch I have used from ABC Challenges

The colour inspiration came from Annabelle Stamps
(the colours are a little hard to see - Avocado, Turquoise and Blossom)

Over at Just Add Ink, the ladies would like you to add MUSIC and at Mo's Digital Challenge they would like you use Wintery or Relaxing images.

I have used colours as close as I could for the colour challenge - I have coloured my image using Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink and Tempting Turquoise.

Thanks so much for looking and I hope to see you at Addicted to CAS this afternoon at 6pm AEST!

Hi again! I decided I wanted to try and join a few more challenges today.
Over at Casology, the cue word is
I have an embossing folder that I have never used and really wanted to get it out and see how it looks. It was perfect to create a clean and simple card!
Here is my card -

I have used Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up. I love the look of white on white.

Thanks so much for looking xx

Addicted to Red and White

Good morning!! What an eventful day here already. I was up trying to get photos of the solar eclipse but wasn't really prepared so had to be content with watching it on the news. It was a spectacular sight to watch it happen live.
Six
Over at Addicted to Stamps and More! we have a colour challenge to share with you.
RED AND WHITE
Here is my card -
I have used my Delightful Decorations set to create the 3D ornaments that I learnt over at Technique Tuesday. I have stamped them in Real Red then punched them out with the ornament punch.
The DSP is from my Festival of Prints stack and then I have embossed the white panel with my Perfect Polka Dots folder.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges

Ribbon Wreath

Goodmorning everyone! Today I have finished off a card that I have been working on for a couple of days. I think it was more the colour combination that had me stumped but I loved it from the beginning. I have CASED a card by Mynnette. Mynnette's card just made me swooooon.
It is a simple card with a beautiful wreath made out of ribbon as the main focal point. The tutorial provided was excellent - the video only went for about 3 minutes and you are all done!
I have used the following Cardstock/DSP - Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Festival of Prints stack.
I have used my Primrose Petals satin stitched ribbon for the wreath.

The colour combination is thanks to 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown and I would like to enter in the following challenges -

Crafty Cardmakers - Challenge #79

It's another challenge over at the Crafty Cardmakers and the Design Team have come up with some wonderful inspiration for you!
Our challenge this time is hosted by BettyC and she would like you to use more than 1 punch or die cut. You can have a combination such as 1 punch and 1 diecut as that equals two, or two punches, two diecuts. You can use more if you wish as long as there is at least two in combination or two of either on your creation.
My card has used
Eyelet border punch
and
Framelits Label Collection Dies

I have used the digi 'Tiffany Fairy' from our wonderful sponsors over at Milk Coffee Digital Stamps. I have coloured her with Stampin' Write markers and added glitter to her wings. This is a birthday card for another of my neices who is turning 9 on Saturday.

The challenge is has two sponsors this week -

Hope you can join in!! Thanks for looking xx

3D Ornaments

I've been wanting to try this technique ever since I had my Delightful Decorations and Ornament Keepsake sets. Much to my delight it is the technique over at Technique Tuesday!!! Wooo hooo. Thanks Mynnette! You must be a mind reader! I decided I like the sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches and put it all together.
Now, this card took me HOURS..... lol. I decided on the ornament I wanted but of course it is part of a die set not a punch so it took me a while to die cut everything out.
Here is my card -

The colours I have used for the ornament are -
Perfect Plum, Real Red, Wild Wasabi and Marina Mist.

I followed the technique that Mynnette has shown us to create the 3D ornaments. Aren't they cute?

I have used double dimensionals to pop the panel off the card and then stamped using my Stamp-a-ma-jig the sentiment from my Petite Pairs set with Real Red.

Here is the sketch I followed -

Addicted to Stamps and More - Flowers

Wednesday morning and another challenge over at Addicted to Stamps & More!
The challenge this week is to be Addicted to {Flowers}
So create anything you like as long as it has to do with flowers. I decided to leave mine until the last minute of course. Then I wanted to try and make a flower from fabric (says she who has trouble threading a needle). Why? Who bloody knows!!! I trawled the internet for some inspiration and I finally found something that was pretty close to what I was looking for. I was ultimately trying to find something very, very easy but of course I found something that required actual stitching. What was I thinking?? Anyway, I grabbed some fabric squares that had long been forgotten (and under the bed in a huge bag) which I had bought to try my hand at quilting. That didn't get very far....
Long story short ("too late"), I gave this flower a go. Now that I have finished it, I can see where I can make improvements for the next one. Practice makes perfect, right??? Right? LOL.
Here is my card -
I found the perfect button in my stash to add to the centre. I have used Crumb Cake as a base card, First Edition Prints (the print on this paper talks about Cherry Blossoms) and Rich Razzleberry.
I have used my white gel pen to create the faux stitching.
The sentiment is from my Sassy Salutations set and inked with a Rich Razzleberry marker.
Check out the amazing array of cards over at the blog created by the DT. There is tonnes of inspiration to be had.
Last but not least, just a quiet "mwah" to Victoria, Marie and Karen. I will miss you over there at Addicted to Stamps and More! Victoria, stay safe and keep well. Marie and Karen - see you on the flip side at Addicted to CAS xx
Thanks for looking xx

52CC Throwdown Sketch Challenge

I saw this sketch earlier today at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown and have been working on it between cooking dinner etc. The things we do for craft...
I messed around with a few ideas and this ended up being my final result. I used another of my set of digis from Mo's Digital Pencil. This is another 'North Pole Employee'. I think they are soooo sweet.
Coloured with Touch Twin Markers and then sponged with Certainly Celery. I have used my Ornament Keepsakes set for the extra ornament and sentiment. Actually the 'Merry Christmas' is from my Delightful Decorations set. They certainly work really well together.

I have covered the ornaments that the elf is holding with Glossy Accents. Not quite noticable here...

Here is the sketch

Pop over and check out the wonderful designs from the DT!

Thanks for looking xxx

North Pole Employee

Happy Saturday everyone! I woke up very early this morning coughing and with a a sore throat. After pottering around and doing some washing, I decided I wanted to 'colour in'. LOL.
I grabbed my Touch Twin Markers and started to practice. I have just bought the Copic colourless blender too and decided that I had to give it a go.
I chose one of my digi's from Mo's Digital Pencil. He is called 'North Pole Employee'. He's too cute! I had decided to enter the latest challenges over at
Mo's Digital Challenge - Anything Goes
and Christmas Stampin All Year Long (CSAYL) - Anything Goes
Here is my card -

I've never been much good at blending and shading but the Copic pen really helped me achieve the look I was trying to get (especially with the background!).

Thanks so much for looking xx

The Paper Players - Sketch

The ladies over at The Paper Players have provided a sketch for us to have a go at. As soon as I saw the sketch, I wanted to create something masculine and use a gorgeous stamp set called The Open Sea. I started with using Crumb cake cardstock as my base and then decided to use my First Edition DSP as well. The next panel of Crumb Cake, I have used some of the stamps to create my own DP. Not Quite Navy and Very Vanilla all worked very well together.

I wrapped some hemp twine around the card and even tried to create a fisherman's knot on the anchor. I'm happy with the end result.
