Just Add Ink - Shaped Card

I decided to try my hand at making a shaped card thanks to the inspiration at Just Add Ink.

I haven't really made one of these before so I was a little concerned lol.

Anyway, I put one together and it worked ok.

By the time I put this altogether, I decided I didn't like the black base. Perhaps I should have stuck with Very Vanilla?
I have used my Framelit Label dies. I actually used ALL of them except for one. The DSP is from the Flirtatious set. I used my paper piercing template for the very first time on the vanilla die cut. The middle stamp from my Apothecary set was inked in Old Olive.
I have just realised that I am quite partial to butterflies, lol. I seem to use them a LOT! The butterflies were created using my Beautiful Wings embosslit.

The flowers are from Inspired by Stamping and are glued on with Glossy Accents.

Anyway, practice makes perfect (I hope) and I need a lot of practice!!

Thanks so much for looking! xx

Less is More, Dynamic Duos and Inspired By Stamping

Hi everyone, I hope you are enjoying your weekend. I've really made up for time lost in my craft room!

Today I have made another two cards for two different colour challenges.

The first one is for the challenge over at Less Is More which is to use

Kraft & Kreme

Here is my card -

I have used Crumb cake and Very Vanilla card stock. I used a large circle die to cut out a piece of the top panel. The flower is from Inspired by Stamping and the tiny butterfly is from my Beautiful Wings Embosslit.
The top panel has been popped up on foam tabs and I used Hemp twine to add some texture.

The next challenge I would like to enter is over at Dynamic Duos and their colour challenge is

Here is my card -

UPDATE!

I would also like to enter this card over at Inspired by Stamping. It's been waaaaaay too long since I have been able to join in the fun over there with Joanna and her awesome DT.

IBSIC-#44

Now, this is definitely NOT along the CAS lines that I usually stick to but I had so much fun making this card.
The DSP is from the Flirtatious set. I have embossed the red panel with my Lattice folder. The doily is a die. I stamped my Apothecary set with memento black and then coloured with my Real Red and Pretty in Pink markers. The two ribbons are Whisper White and Primrose Petals.

Keep it Simple #6

Keep it Simple - my motto in life lol

I haven't had a chance to join in the fun over at Keep it Simple for a while now.

Embossing is one of my all time favourite techniques. Once I discovered the Big Shot, I was in heaven and really don't know what I would do without it.

I have used an embossing folder today that I have never used before. This is because it is soooo big and I've never really know what to do with it. From memory it is called Fancy Brocade... whoops.

It certainly is a beautiful folder. I have stamped the sentiment in Concord Crush. It comes from my Sassy Salutations set. I have also used my Beautiful Wings embosslit folder.

I have popped the embossed panel up on foam pads.

Thanks for looking xx

FBW #225 - Anything Goes

I was so happy to make a card today. I sat down to make one with a particular couple of people in mind. They have been so kind to me and my family since my Grandad passed away that I felt I needed to thank them. I also wanted to participate in the latest challenge over at Flutterby Wednesdays where it is Anything Goes.

This card is filled with wonderful new goodies. The embossing folder is called Retro Swirls (new), the ribbon is Seam Binding in Pear Pizzazz (new) and the little strip of DSP is from the Flirtatious set (new). I have added a butterfly from my Beautiful Wings Embosslits. The sentiment is from my Petite Pairs set and stamped in Old Olive and then added a row of pearls either side.

I also would like everyone to know that I have received a number of sympathy cards from my new blog family. Isn't this place just amazing! I have never met you but you are certainly part of my family and I treasure each and every one of you. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for your ongoing support and prayers xx

So Grateful - Easel Card

Hi there everyone.

I would like to express my appreciation for all your kind words of support for my Grandfather.

I needed a bit of 'therapy' this afternoon once home from the hospital and I really wanted to make some thank you cards for the staff there.

This card, in particular, has been made for the Palliative care nurse that has been just amazing with her support and the way she explains things to my family. She really is a lovely lady.

I decided I wanted to try my hand at another Easel Card as I thought it would be perfect for her desk if she felt she would like to display it.

I was very happy with how this turned out. It was one of those cards that was not planned , it just happened and it came together beautifully. LOVE those cards, lol.

I have used Crumbcake cardstock for the base. The printed paper is actually tissue paper - isn't it lovely? It was given to me in a bag of bits and pieces and I've never used it. I think it is really pretty.

I have coloured my Apothecary stamp with Garden Green and So Saffron markers. I have used my Framelit Label dies and have embossed the larger one with my Lattice folder.

My butterflies are from the Beautiful Wings embosslit.

The beautiful flowers are from Inspired by Stamping.

The bottom panel has been raised up on foam pads so the card can 'stand up'. The pearls were the final touch.

I am going to enter this card at

Make my Monday - dry embossing
Flutterby Wednesdays - Use something new (my tissue paper)

Thanks so much for looking xx

Technique Tuesday - Faux Tiles

Well, mum and I have been VERY busy today, lol.
I was showing her the challenge over at Technique Tuesday which is to create something using Faux Tiles. Next thing I know, mum is over at the craft desk already starting her card!!!

Mum was very creative with this challenge. She started by embossing a piece of cardstock with the Elegant Lines folder and then using sponge daubers to ink up the pattern. She then cut everything out in odd shapes and stuck it all back together. A few little butterflies from the Beautiful Wings set and she was finished! I love the colours that she used and the end result is just gorgeous.

Here is her card -

Now, my card is something really different for me and I loved creating it for this challenge. I seem to stick to CAS cards these days but this card really needed to have all the extras that I could bring myself to put on it!

Here is my card -

I started making my faux tiles with First Edition DSP. I have used my Spellbinder circle dies for the sponged cardstock and DP. The lace is from Inspired by Stamping. I have also used butterflies from the Beautiful Wings Embosslits. I have added pearls to the large butterfly and around the spare corners of the card. The only stamp I have used for this card is the sentiment which has been die cut with my Framelit labels set and popped up under the lace. Very lah, di, dah for me but I must admit that I really like it!!

Head on over to Technique Tuesday to see the amazing DT creations. They are very, very inspiring!!

I would also like to enter my card into the awesome challenge over at Flutter by Wednesdays - anything goes!!

IBSIC #25 & Simply Stampin' Sketch Week

I'm feeling a bit under the weather today. Blah. The last thing I really felt like doing was sit down and make something. I then thought, bugger it! It's probably good medicine!!
I am entering into two challenges today.
The first one is an Inspiration Photo at Inspired By Stamping

IBSIC #25
The other challenge is the Sketch Challenge at Simply Stampin'.

CCM, Technique Tuesday & CAS-ual Fridays

How are we all? I guess you've had a big Saturday already (like me) or are probably just about to start yours. Today I have made a card for three challenges.

Crafty Cardmakers - this is my second card for Winged Things
Technique Tuesday - also my second card for the Faux Leather challenge
CAS-ual Fridays - Embossing (Dry, Wet or Both)

I have made a panel by tearing bits of masking tape and placing them every which way. I have then used my brayer this time instead of a sponge. Using Concord Crush and Real Red with my brayer, I applied the colour. I then covered the whole panel with clear embossing powder and used my heat gun. The effect is a really shiny look that is fabulous!
I have then used my Butterfly Embosslit folder with Brushed Gold cardstock to create my little butterflies.
I was going to put a sentiment as well but decided to stop. I really wanted the Faux Leather look to be a focal point, while using the Gold Butterflies to draw the eye.

Thanks so much for looking xx

JAI #133 - So Grateful

Hi there, how are you all?? I have made a card today that is to enter into the challenge at Just Add Ink. They would like you to add mustard and metal.

I have embossed two of my panels - one with Swiss Dots and one with Lattice. I have used my So Mustard Stampin' Write marker to create my faux stiching. A doily die was used with my DSP.

The sentiment is from my Apothecary Set and is set behind a metal frame. The butterfly was from my Embosslit folder. A couple of flowers and a couple of pearls and done!

Sketch N Stash Challenge #95

Here is a card today that has been inspired by a Sketch over at Sketch N Stash.
I really liked the look of this sketch and pretty much had a good idea (for once) of what I wanted to do. I had a couple of new things I wanted to use and there is plenty in my stash to use too.
Here is my card and then I will let you know what I've used.

The new things I have used are -

Doily Die
Butterfly Embosslits
White with gold trim ribbon

Everything else was from my stash including the little metal sentiment. I have no idea where it came from but I know I've had it for years. I was trying to decide on which stamp to use for the sentiment when I had a bit of a rummage around. I thought it was perfect for this type of card. Here is a close up for you.

Here is the Sketch that was my inspiration. Click on the image to go and join in the fun!!
