With Heartfelt Sympathy

Happy Sunday, how are you all?

Have you seen my previous post earlier today? There is a new CAS challenge over at Happy Little Stampers and a DT call on for ALL of our monthly challenges

Today I am sharing with you three sympathy cards that I made last week. When I was on my cruise, my Aunty Glynnis passed away from cancer. She was 58. I was obviously unable to make the funeral :( Then a couple of days later my step-pop lost his brother, Athol. I had never actually met Athol or his wife Mary but as dad and I were attending the funeral as support for my pop and nan, I thought it would be nice to make Mary a card.

Here is my first card that I made for my Nan after losing her only daughter

Stamps: SU! -Apothecary Art, Inspired by Stamping - Fancy Sentiments
Coloured with Stampin' Write Markers and I added tiny little pearls to the center of the flowers

I would like to enter this card into

In the Pink - Fussy and Fancy or Clean and Simple (mine is CAS)

This card was made for my pop

I CASED one of my own cards for this one. I used the acrylic block stamping and you can find my tutorial HERE

Stamps: SU! - French Foliage, SU! - Simply Sketched

I would like to enter this card at

Suzy Bee's Bloomin' Challenge - Anything Goes but no patterned paper

My last card was made for Mary. A woman I had never met so it was hard to decide what to create. I had received a new feather die with a craft magazine so I used it.

Just the one stamp on this one. SU! - Simply Sketched

I would like to enter this card into

Loves Rubber Stamps - Use at least 2 dies
Sister Act #104 - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for looking xx

ATSM #84 - Photo Inspiration

Good morning!

Here we are back again at Wednesday which means a brand new challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More!

We have a photo to inspire you this week. You may take any elements (colour, theme, objects) from the photo to create your project.

It's International Women's Day on the 8th of March, so what perfect inspiration for this week's challenge!

Here is my DT card -

I have used the colours and theme in the photo as the basis for my card. This is for my sister - a wonderful woman!!

I have also CASED a card that I received one year for my birthday by Kim Badelt. Kim used Greys and Pinks on my card. I subsituted the grey with black.

This stamp set is one of my favourites and one that I don't use enough. I have stamped the image twice so I could cut out two of the flowers and the middle section to pop up on dimensionals.  I have sponged around a lot of the cardstock which is something Kim does on her cards. I don't use black ribbon very often but it came in very handy on this card :)

The edges have been created by die cutting with my Edgelits - Adorning Accents.

Here is a close up of the middle section -

And in true Kim Badelt style, I even CASED the inside of the card :)

I hope you will join in on the fun this week at Addicted to Stamps and More. There is plenty of inspiration from the DT so go and check it out.

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges -

Stamping Sensations - Pretty In Pink
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
The Pink Elephant - Birthday

Thanks so much for looking xx

Inkspirational Challenge #27

Hi everyone! Are you ready for another challenge at Inkspirational?? I am!!

We have a colour challenge for you this week -

Beautiful colours!!! I went and grabbed one of my favouite stamp sets for this one.

Here is my DT card -

Yep, the Apothecary set from SU. I stamped the image and coloured it with SU markers. I stamped the image a second time so I could stamp the sentiment (using my stamp-a-ma-jig) and then cut it out so I could pop it up. The DSP is from the Flirtatious set. LOVE the colours together!

Now it is your turn to head on over to Inkspirational to show us what you come up with!!

WHW #90 - Stationery

Well, funny enough it's raining AGAIN!

I have finally got the chance that I needed to create my own stationery. I have followed the tutorial by Cindy Coutts over at Inspired by Stamping.

This was really fun and I found how easy it was to mass produce. And when you are into CAS like I am, it makes it even easier. I really wanted to achieve a nice elegant set of paper and envelopes.

I must warn you, though, that the photography is terrible for this project! I apologise in advance.

Here is one set that I have made -

The cardstock is my Naturals White and Patterns DSP from Stampin Up.
I have used a sentiment from Paper Smooches and the swirl is from my Inspired by Stamping set called Elegant Christmas Sentiments.

Here is the stationery folded out -

The envelope -

The stamp on the front is from my Apothecary Set and was perfect for writing the address on!

I have used a circle stamp from a set by Inspired by Stamping called Halloween Tags
The 'Kylie' stamp is one that says a lot more but I just used a marker to ink up my name

And her is the little set that I made -

The second writing paper has the word "Friends" which is a stamp by Inspired by Stamping and is from my Elegant Sentiments set

Thank you Cindy for the wonderful tutorial - well done! I am going to be making more of these as I write to my little neices interstate and they will LOVE these!

Thanks for looking xx

Just Add Ink - Shaped Card

I decided to try my hand at making a shaped card thanks to the inspiration at Just Add Ink.

I haven't really made one of these before so I was a little concerned lol.

Anyway, I put one together and it worked ok.

By the time I put this altogether, I decided I didn't like the black base. Perhaps I should have stuck with Very Vanilla?
I have used my Framelit Label dies. I actually used ALL of them except for one. The DSP is from the Flirtatious set. I used my paper piercing template for the very first time on the vanilla die cut. The middle stamp from my Apothecary set was inked in Old Olive.
I have just realised that I am quite partial to butterflies, lol. I seem to use them a LOT! The butterflies were created using my Beautiful Wings embosslit.

The flowers are from Inspired by Stamping and are glued on with Glossy Accents.

Anyway, practice makes perfect (I hope) and I need a lot of practice!!

Thanks so much for looking! xx

Less is More, Dynamic Duos and Inspired By Stamping

Hi everyone, I hope you are enjoying your weekend. I've really made up for time lost in my craft room!

Today I have made another two cards for two different colour challenges.

The first one is for the challenge over at Less Is More which is to use

Kraft & Kreme

Here is my card -

I have used Crumb cake and Very Vanilla card stock. I used a large circle die to cut out a piece of the top panel. The flower is from Inspired by Stamping and the tiny butterfly is from my Beautiful Wings Embosslit.
The top panel has been popped up on foam tabs and I used Hemp twine to add some texture.

The next challenge I would like to enter is over at Dynamic Duos and their colour challenge is

Here is my card -

UPDATE!

I would also like to enter this card over at Inspired by Stamping. It's been waaaaaay too long since I have been able to join in the fun over there with Joanna and her awesome DT.

IBSIC-#44

Now, this is definitely NOT along the CAS lines that I usually stick to but I had so much fun making this card.
The DSP is from the Flirtatious set. I have embossed the red panel with my Lattice folder. The doily is a die. I stamped my Apothecary set with memento black and then coloured with my Real Red and Pretty in Pink markers. The two ribbons are Whisper White and Primrose Petals.

Thanks so much for looking xx

IBSIC #28 - Sketch Challenge

We've had rain much of today so far. Much needed rain, I must say.
Perfect for crafting!!
Today I have created a card to enter over at Inspired By Stamping which is a Sketch Challenge.
I have used Very Vanilla (again) and Always Artichoke cardstock for my main colours.

IBSIC#28

I have used my Apothecary Set stamped in Chocolate Chip. I have then used the sentiment from Inspired By Stamping inked with Old Olive.
The embossing folders I have used for this card are Perfect Polka Dots, Vintage Wallpaper and Script. I have also used hemp twine, pearls and Victorian Crochet Trim.

The flowers are from Inspired By Stamping.

Thanks for looking xx

Crafty Cardmakers (CCM) Challenge #75 - Stitching and Lace

I'm just a little bit excited abou this post! Why, you may ask? Well, let me explain! :)
I applied to be on the Design Team of this awesome challenge blog and guess what?? Yep, they liked me enough to ask me to join their team. There is a great bunch of members at this blog and they really do come up with some exciting and inspirational pieces.

I am really looking forward to future challenges but for now, this is my first ever post as a Design Team member over at Crafty Cardmakers!!

Hosted by Lin, she would like to see some stitching, either hand, machine or faux on your project as WELL as some lace, real NOT faux. There is an added twist of using a sewing related image or stamp, if you have one, but it is not a requirement.

Here is my card -

Using my Mat Pack and Paper-piercing tool on the white and blue panels gave me a template to hand-stitch with kitchen string (yes, kitchen string!!) I have used my lovely Apothecary Stamp set for the centrepeice (which has a tiny little stitch like outline). A cute flower up in the corner and then finished off with the blue grosgrain ribbon and lace.

Now, sewing really is not my forte! Thank goodness for my paper-piercing set. Couldn't have done without it. Next time I might even get the sewing machine out lol.

The challenge has a wonderful sponsor -

with this fabulous prize

See you over at the Challenge!!!!

The Paper Players #110, Colour Throwdown #206 & Crafty Catz #147

Well, it is certainly past my bedtime and considering I was up with the Roosters and Chooks this morning at 5.30am, I am a little weary lol.

I just wanted to quickly share a card with you that I am entering into 3 challenges.

The Sketch for this card came from The Paper Players
The Colour Combo came from Colour Throwdown
The Ribbon and Bow is to participate in the challenge over at Crafty Catz

I decided to give my faux stitching another whirl. I'm actually quite happy with how this turned out. I used my Certainly Celery marker and did the stitches freehand. A little crooked here and there but that's how my actual sewing would turn out anyway ;)

I had to use my Apothecary set again. It's such a beautiful collection. I then used my Framelit Label Dies to cut the stamp out which was coloured with Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery. I didn't have Cameo Coral so I tried to use the closest that I had which to me was Melon Mambo (used for the sentiment). Once I finished this card, I realised I just couldn't cope without my Stamp-a-ma-jig. What a saviour! I hope I have done the Sketch and Colour Combo justice and I also hope there is enough Ribbon and Bow(s).

Here is the inspiration for these wonderful challenges

Happiest Birthday

Hi all, how are we today? Nearly ready for the weekend?
Today I have a card to share with you that I am going to enter into 3 challenges.
The first challenge that I had looked at was one of my favourites - Inspired by Stamping, so the colour inspiration came from there. The next challenge is over at Crafty Sentiments and the theme is Flowers. The last, but not least, challenge is at Delightful Sketches and their theme is Fancy & Frilly.

I had heaps of fun making this card. Both background papers have been distressed. I have used my Apothecary Set and coloured straight onto the stamp with Pretty in Pink and Wild Wasabi. The sentiment is on dimensionals and was stamped in Wild Wasabi.
The gorgeous flowers you see are from IBS. They add such a lovely touch to my card.

Last, but not least, I have added tiny pearls in the centre of the stamped flowers.
I'm not sure they are visible in this photo, so here is a close up.

Thanks so much for looking xx

ATS - Addicted to {Blue} Challenge #1

I'm sure my DT want to kill me this week, but that's another story! ;)

Addicted to Stamps - we are loving it over there. This week's challenge is to be addicted to {Blue}. Well! I have gone all out with the Blue lol.
I have just received the Apothecary Art stamp set and had to use it! It is really a beautiful set.
I have embossed the Marina Mist panel with my Lattice folder. I wanted to also use my new Pleated Satin Ribbon in Baja Breeze. I stamped the medium stamp with Marina Mist and used the appropriate Framelit Die. Then with the next size up, I used the Framelit Die on a piece of Bashful Blue cardstock and embossed it with my Perfect Polka Dot folder. The sentiment was stamped with Perfect Plum.
I had some lacy blue ribbon and a wider grosgrain ribbon laying around that I wanted to add as well.
Three little pearls and - TA DA

The DT has some amazing creations, yet again, so please have a look and join in the fun!

Thanks for looking xx
