ATSM #75 - Photo Inspiration

Hi there everyone.

Wow, it's getting close to the big day. I can't believe it's nearly 2014!!

It's been a big year for me personally within the blogging world. I would like to thank you all for participating in my challenges at ATSM and ATCAS. I love seeing all the entries and your support is so appreciated. The ladies that I have on my DT's are so wonderful - I love them all! Thanks girls!!

Onto our latest challenge over at ATSM -

LOVE this photo! Take what you want from it as your inspiration and enter it over at the challenge blog.

Here is my DT card -

I used the Christmas theme in the photo to create one more Christmas card for the year. I have used my Thinlits Circle Card die again and this time added a band to hold it all together once folded. They have a habit of not sitting quite how you want them.

I have decorated the card with the DSP from my Winter Frost stack, Festive Flurry stamp and co-ordinating dies, a retired set called 25 and counting and the Noel stamp from the Greetings of the Season set. The stars are dies that are included in the Thinlits Circle Card die set.

Here is a look at the inside -

I thought that having two white panels would be good to write more of a short letter to someone that you may only keep in contact with by writing.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges

Cuttlebug Mania - Anything Goes Christmas
Make My Monday - Frosty Theme

52CC Throwdown - Choose a previous theme

Thanks so much for looking xx

ATSM #74 - Clean and Simple

Hi there everyone! Hope you are enjoying your week so far.

A brand new challenge has just started over at ATSM and this week we are looking for your Clean and Simple (CAS) projects.

We also have a wonderful sponsor for you and you have to be in it to win it!

Our Top Addict will have the choice of 5 images from their store!

Here are my DT cards -

My 1st one has used a sponsor image called 'Candy Canes'.

I have printed the candy canes onto blender paper and then coloured with my Spectrum's. Then they were cut out and popped up with dimensionals. I'm not sure if you can see, but I have paper pierced around the edge of the white panel. The sentiment is from my Petite Pairs set (SU).

I'm going to enter this card into the following challenges -

52 CC Throwdown - Pick a previous theme

CASology

Spectrum Noir - Food (yummy candy canes!!)

Here is my 2nd card

Here I have used the Natural Composition Paper from SU which was given to me by the ever so generous Phillipa when I was down in Canberra.  It's so lovely with the embossing already on the paper. I've just added some layers of lace and ribbon and finished off with a hemp twine bow and Antique brad. I made this card for one of my lovely ladies who attends my card classes. She loved it!

So there you go - two very different cards but kept very CAS.

I hope I have inspired you to take part in our challenge.

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges -

CASology

Make it Monday - Anything Goes
613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes with optional twist

Thank so much for looking xx

Christmas Wreath

Hi there everyone! Hope you are well. I hope that you are enjoying your part of the world wherever you may be.

Today I have a card to share with you that I was inspired to make thanks to two challenge blogs.

I have been able to have a play with my new goodies and couldn't wait to get started.

Here is my card -

I am loving my new dies! I've actually got quite a lot of new things to play with, I'm having trouble deciding on what to use. Life is good, lol.

My Christmas Wreath has been popped up on my Fancy Fold Card. I followed a tutorial over at Split Coast Stampers.

Here is a close up of the wreath.

This is actually my second card that I have made with these dies but the first one will be shown for a challenge that starts at the beginning of the month.

These cards are very, very fiddly having to build the wreath but I love the end result and the time taken is worth it. To assemble the wreath, I have cut out the Twig Wreath and then lots of the Pine Sprig Cluster. I shape all the pieces by rolling them on a pencil or pushing them into my paper piercing mat with my stylus.
I put a blob of glossy accents onto my silicon craft sheet and using tweezers, I pick up a sprig and dip the end into the glossy accents. I place it onto the base wreath and use my paper piercer to place it. Then I just go around and around and fill it all in.

The two challenges that provided me with inspiration for this card are -

and

Thanks so much for looking xx

Frostyville Christmas Card

Good morning everyone! I hope everyone is well.

When I was down in Canberra it was great to catch up with my crafty friends. Mum and I always exchange bits and pieces from our stashes. It's a great way to try out different papers, inks and embellishments.

I had afternoon tea with Phillipa and Trudi right at the end of my stay in Canberra. Phillipa and I did the same thing - Phillipa was lovely enough to give me some cardstock and I had some dies that Phillipa liked, so we spent some time cutting them out so she could have some. Now, Trudi isn't a 'crafty' person and was very patient with us while we did all this. Yay, Trudi!! lol.

Yesterday I received a package in the mail. Phillipa had put together lots of die cuts for me. It was such a lovely surprise and of course I had to start playing with them.

Here is a card that I have made with the Frostyville Border die that was in my package.

With the package of dies that Phillipa sent me was a printout of a card that used this particular die and a die that I already own - Pine Tree Border. You can see the original card HERE. It was wonderful inspiration.

Once I had cut the Pine Tree Border, I embossed it with my Perfect Polka Dots folder to give the effect of snow.

The sentiment has been stamped with Versamark and embossed with silver embossing powder.

I would love to enter this card into the following challenges.

This Pine Tree Border reminds me of the Christmas Trees that would be cut so you could have a real tree.

Make My Monday - Flowers or Trees

613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes or create your own colour combo

I sorted through all my Christmas cards yesterday and still have so many to make! I had better get my skates on.

Thanks so much to Phillipa for my goodies!! xx

Thanks so much for looking xx

Hi there everyone and welcome to my newest followers!

I have created a card today for the latest challenge over at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown.

I ummmed and arrrrred about what do do for this challenge. Then once I decided to use my gold glitter paper, I knew I was set.

I decided to give the glitter paper a go with my Triple Time Stamping Technique.

Here is my card -

I have used my new Whisper White organza ribbon for my big bow. It is so easy to work with!
I really like how the glitter paper worked using this technique! It gives the card a bit of kick!!

I LOVE Christmas (don't we all?)

Hi and welcome to a wonderful sunny.... whoops, nope! It's pouring AGAIN!
Oh my... and off to the craft room we go....

So! I wanted to create a card for the next challenge over at 52CC Throwdown. Those girls are pushing me with their challenges at the moment and I am LOVING it!

I certainly was able to be a bit more creative than usual with this card.

Firstly I created my own DP by stamping with a snow stamp all over a piece of Whisper White card and mounted onto Crumb Cake.

I then used my double petal punch on red cardstock and then chopped off two of the petals to create a heart.

I have used my Penguin out of my Punch Pal set, coloured him in with Stampin' Write markers and cut him out.

He's so cute!

Then I got REALLY creative (well, for me anyway..) and used two different stamps for the sentiment. I coloured the 'i' out of the 'christmas' with my Basic Black Stampin' Write marker. The 'Love' is from my Loads of Love set. Using my stamp-a-ma-jig I was able to position them where I wanted them.

I have used my Cherry Cobble baker's twine to hold a little heart gem.

Check out the challenge - you will love it!

52 CC Throwdown - Colour Challenge

Hi there!!

This was a REAL challenge with these colours over at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown this week. I love non-traditional colours but I was so unsure about this.

With no real plan, I sat down last night and started to give it a go. I had all sorts of different ideas but I am fairly happy with how it all ended up.

The DP I have used are from Stampin' Up and a 6x6 pad called 'Home for Christmas'.

The stamp is from my Ornament Keepsake set and inked up with Chocolate Chip. The sentiment and little flourishes are from Inspired by Stamping and also inked with Chocolate Chip. With the colours being so 'warm and cosy' I thought the Warm Wishes was extra nice.

I have created the shaped panels by using my Circle punch from my Itty Bitty set and chopping off a bit of the corners.

Here is the colour inspiration for you - (which I am very inclined to love now)

Head on over and check out the wonderful inspiration from the DT!

Thanks for looking xx

52CC Throwdown Sketch and CSAYL Anything Goes!

Good morning! It is a beautiful Sunday morning here in Queensland. After yet another bit of wild weather overnight, it has turned into a gorgeous day!

Today I am going to share with you a card I made last night for two challenges.

The first is 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown and Danielle has provided us with a sketch for inspiration.

Over at Christmas Stampin' All Year Long (CSAYL) it is their first challenge for the year and Anything Goes!

Here is my card -

The stamps I have used is a little one from my Snow Pal set (the little star) and the sentiment is from my Sassy Salutations.
The DP I have used comes from a little 6x6 pad and is called 'Home for Christmas'.
I used some of my new Glitter brads to join the shapes.

Thanks for looking xx

52 Christmas Card Throwdown - Triple Time Stamping

Well, this is one of my FAVOURITE techniques and I was soooo happy to see the challenge over at 52CC Throwdown!

We are getting hammered by weather today... We have severe storm surge warnings and gusts up to 70 knots!! I swear the house is moving at times and the rain itself is making it impossible to leave. Lucky for me I live on fairly high ground but I am keeping my eye on some of the gum trees that may be likely suspects to come down. I don't think the ground is that saturated yet but it looks like it isn't going to let up too soon.

So what is a girl to do on a day like today (when I still have electricity)? Of course she gets crafting!!

Now as excited as I was about the current challenge at 52CC Throwdown, I wasn't that excited when I finished my card. This is actually my second attempt. Don't you hate that!! lol.

Anyway, me thinks that I will be making another card anyway and I will post this to get the ball rolling.

The sentiment is from my Heard from the Heart set and the the others are from my Ornament Keepsake set.

While writing this post, the lights are starting to flick!!

Thanks for looking xx

52CC Throwdown and ColourQ

Good morning everyone, I hope you are having a marvelous weekend!

Have you all made your New Year's resolutions? I have made a couple that only my friends in blog land will appreciate. One is to participate in every weekly challenge over at 52CC Throwdown and my other is to find a new challenge blog that I can participate in - ColourQ

Last night I made a card for these two challenges -

The first week for 2013 at 52CC Throwdown is a sketch which I loved. The challenge over at ColourQ is to chose any of the colour palettes that the DT have used for their projects.

Here is my card -

I received the Punch Pal set on Friday (part of the Clearance Rack) and decided to ink it up. What a great set this is!! My first Christmas card for 2013!!! Only 51 more to go, girls lol.

I substituted Pear Pizzazz for Certainly Celery. I really liked this colour scheme from the moment I saw what Jen over at ColourQ had done with it. I didn't know if I could pull off a Christmas Card with it, but it worked really well!

Thanks so much for looking and have a great weekend xx

Homemade Christmas Crackers

Good morning everyone! My mum has finally arrived from Canberra to stay over Christmas! YAY!!
Of course, the first morning is spent playing with craft. We are making our own Christmas Crackers together and we would like to enter them into the challenge over at 52CC Throwdown - Crackers!!

Using two pieces of co-ordinating tissue paper we have wrapped it around 3 individual paper rolls. Once secured we tied ribbon around the ends of the middle roll to create the cracker shape.

We have used a heap of different bits and pieces from all sorts of decorations etc. to bling up our crackers :)

We will be filling them with homemade Christmas hats, jokes and small gift.

We are having so much fun and have a few more to make.

We have also been busy making our centrepiece for our Christmas table.

And some close ups of the bits and pieces

Our Christmas Wreath Centrepiece will be entered into the following challenges -

Thanks so much for looking from Kylie and Maree xx

This was definitely a challenge!

The gals over at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown have a doozie for us this week. They would like you to create something that incorporates Scripture. There are so many Christmas verses that I didn't know where to start. I also didn't want to choose one willy nilly, so there it became the challenge.
The first thing I really decided was that I wanted to use an Angel and not just any Angel. I looked at what felt like thousands of digis and images online but nothing grabbed my attention.. until... I found this gorgeous silhouette of a Herald Angel. This opened up all the possibilities for the verse as well.

When I chose the striped paper from my Festival of Prints DSP stack, I was a little scared. Perhaps a little over the top? Once I put it all together, I really liked it (and not one stamp!!).

Here is the verse in case you can't read it too well -

And the Angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2: 10-11

I hope you can join in over at 52CC Throwdown - they have some wonderful inspiration for you.

Thanks for looking xx

Ribbon Wreath

Goodmorning everyone! Today I have finished off a card that I have been working on for a couple of days. I think it was more the colour combination that had me stumped but I loved it from the beginning. I have CASED a card by Mynnette. Mynnette's card just made me swooooon.
It is a simple card with a beautiful wreath made out of ribbon as the main focal point. The tutorial provided was excellent - the video only went for about 3 minutes and you are all done!
I have used the following Cardstock/DSP - Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Festival of Prints stack.
I have used my Primrose Petals satin stitched ribbon for the wreath.

The colour combination is thanks to 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown and I would like to enter in the following challenges -

52CC Throwdown Sketch Challenge

I saw this sketch earlier today at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown and have been working on it between cooking dinner etc. The things we do for craft...
I messed around with a few ideas and this ended up being my final result. I used another of my set of digis from Mo's Digital Pencil. This is another 'North Pole Employee'. I think they are soooo sweet.
Coloured with Touch Twin Markers and then sponged with Certainly Celery. I have used my Ornament Keepsakes set for the extra ornament and sentiment. Actually the 'Merry Christmas' is from my Delightful Decorations set. They certainly work really well together.

I have covered the ornaments that the elf is holding with Glossy Accents. Not quite noticable here...

Here is the sketch

Pop over and check out the wonderful designs from the DT!

Thanks for looking xxx

Ornament Keepsake Non-Traditional Colours

Good morning everyone! Well, it's an overcast day here today. I've done my duties with the dog, cat and chickens and believe today must be the perfect day to 'play' inside.

Today I have made a card with my new Ornament Keepsake Bundle which includes the stamps and the Holiday Ornament dies. I decided I wanted to have pink on this card. Dunno why.... but I did lol.

Here is my card -

The challenge over at Christmas Stampin' all Year Long is to use circles on your project. I have chosen two pieces of DSP from my Festival of Prints stack that had circles and then chose the two circular ornaments from the stamp set. I don't think you can see it very well, but the Whisper White panel has been embossed with Perefect Polka Dots - so, MORE circles!! I have coloured the stamps directly with my markers so I could get the different colour effect. The ornaments have been popped up on dimensionals.

The crew over at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown require you to use your dies this week. The Merry Christmas circle is actually from my Delightful Decorations stamp set and then cut out with a Spellbinders circle die.

Finally but not least, the lovely gals over at Christmas Card Challenges require you to 'Pop it Up'.

Thanks so much for looking and I hope you had a wonderful weekend! xx
